Season 2 of Kyokou Suiri will begin airing in January 2023. Although it is a mystery, it is set in a world where the occult, which overturns the very foundations of mystery, is real. As such, the characters include a variety of characters, including detectives, assistants, ghosts, supernatural beings, and monsters from urban legends. We've put together a list of the characters who shouldn't appear in a mystery!
Character 1: Kotoko Iwanaga
She is the protagonist of this work and a detective. Although she looks young enough to be mistaken for a middle school student, she is currently a university student. When she was 11 years old, she was kidnapped by monsters and asked to become the "God of Wisdom" who serves as their advisor. She agreed, and lost one eye and one leg to become the God of Wisdom. Although she plays the role of a detective in this work, her objective is not to uncover the truth of the case and spread it widely, since the cases she handles are focused on settling the case amicably. Since she can communicate with occult supernatural phenomena, she will even learn the truth of a case that no one has the means of knowing through the occult. She is treated badly by her boyfriend.
Character No. 2: Sakuragawa Kuro
Iwanaga Kotoko's boyfriend. Currently a graduate student, she used to have a boyfriend named Yumihara Saki, but they broke up after a certain incident. In fact, by eating the flesh of the mermaid, he is a monster with an immortal body and the ability to decide the future, and the reason for their breakup was that he was a "monster so strong that people would run away in fear of a monster strong enough to kill a human." After that, he becomes Kotoko's lover, but he treats her roughly and coldly, making her wonder if he is really her lover. However, he seems to trust her as a partner.
Character 3: Sakuragawa Rikka
Sakuragawa Kuro's cousin. A slender beauty with an otherworldly personality. Like Kuro, she gained an immortal body and the ability to decide the future by eating a mermaid and the meat in question. She is the mastermind behind the Steel Man Nanase arc, who repeatedly experimented on her own body and created the imaginative monster "Steel Man Nanase". She is also the one who created the Steel Man Nanase summary site, and even though Kotoko has thwarted her plans, she doesn't seem to be giving up. The reason she created the imaginative monster is to create a monster with enough power to restore her body to its original state.
Character #4: Saki Yumihara
A female police officer in the traffic division working at the police station in Makurazaka City. She is the former girlfriend of Sakuragawa Kuro, and although they had progressed to the point of engagement, they broke up when Kuro found out that the real supernatural was a monster that ran away with its tail between its legs. She unintentionally reunited with Kuro during the incident with Steel Man Nanase, and they decided to fight together. Although she had regrets about Kuro, her strong trauma against the supernatural could not be wiped away, and after the incident with Steel Man Nanase was over, she cut off all ties with Kuro.
Character No. 5: Terada Tokunosuke
A police officer who is Saki's colleague and works at the police station in Makurazaka City. A talented police officer who sensed a crime in the case of Steel Man Nanase and became more vigilant. He was a strong man who was a candidate for the Olympics in judo, but unfortunately came into contact with Steel Man Nanase and was killed by having his head crushed with a steel beam. The story became complicated when a strong police officer like him was killed by Steel Man Nanase.
Character No. 6: Nanase Karin
A busty idol who died in an accident in January of this year. Her real name was Nanase Haruko, and although she had expanded her activities, such as starring in a late-night drama, she was not that well-known. She was suspected of being involved in the death of her father, who died under mysterious circumstances, and continued to live on the run, but her face was crushed by a falling steel beam at a deserted construction site and she died. After that, her crushed face, idol figure, and her holding a rugged steel beam began to be seen, and she came to be called Steel Man Nanase.
Character No. 7: Amachi Manabu
He is the head of the mystery research club at the private Ei Ei High School where Iwanaga Kotoko attended. He has a tough face, a large build, and is a black belt in judo and kendo, so he gives off an unapproachable vibe, but he has a very kind personality. In order to keep the Mystery Research Club alive, she tries to recruit Kotoko Iwanaga. She and her junior Kotori Kobayashi are in a relationship that continues to this day.
Character No. 8 Kotori Kobayashi
A female student in the same class as Kotoko Iwanaga and a member of the Mystery Research Club. She is threatened by her senior, Manabu Amachi, that if she doesn't bring Kotoko to the club room, he will reveal the plot of an unread mystery novel, so she approaches Kotoko. Even at twenty years old, her relationship with Manabu seems to be going well.
Character No. 9: Muroi Masayuki
A man who appears in the second season of Yuki-onna no Dilemma. When he was a university student, he was pushed by a high school friend while climbing a snowy mountain and got lost. However, he was saved by the whim of Yuki-onna and miraculously survived. He used the compensation he received to start a successful company and got married at the age of 29. He lived a smooth sailing life, but was chased out of the company by a subordinate's betrayal, and his wife attempted to murder him after an affair, which made him distrustful of people and he moved to a house at the foot of the mountain. There, he reunites with Yuki-onna and deepens his relationship with her, but is accused of murdering his ex-wife. He is currently 32 years old.
Character 10: Yuki-onna
A monster living in a snowy mountain, she whimsically helps Muroi Masayuki, who was once betrayed by his best friend and pushed off the mountain. She has a friendly personality and often comes to play in human towns, but tends to shy away from modern things. Although she does not harm others, she is a monster with the ability to transform like a monster and has much greater power than an ordinary person. After reuniting with Muroi Masayuki, they start living together, but when Masayuki is accused of murdering his ex-wife, she inadvertently finds herself in a position to prove her alibi. However, as she is a Yuki-onna and has no family register, she cannot be a witness and so consults Kotoko.

Here is a summary of the characters that appear in Kyokou Suiri! The story revolves around three people: Iwanaga Kotoko, who plays the role of a detective?, her partner Sakuragawa Kuro, and Sakuragawa Rikka, a rival who operates in various places, and the rest of the story progresses with the appearance of guest characters and the supernatural phenomena that appear around Kotoko.
