With anime featuring a large number of female heroines, this ranking is sure to be of interest! The main idol unit "cham jam" in this series is made up of seven members. So, what would happen if we were to rank these seven girls for cuteness? Since each of them has a completely different personality, preferences will likely vary, but this time I'd like to rank them based on my own subjective opinion!
Seventh Place: Mizumori Yumeri
In seventh place is Yumeri, who placed fourth in the popularity poll! While the rest of the members of Cham Jam are from Okayama and Kagawa, Yumeri is the only member from the Kanto region, originally from Kanagawa Prefecture. While she's not particularly eye-catching, she's confident in her singing and dancing. She's been taking dance lessons since she was a child, and fans say she has the best performance skills in Cham Jam.
Is it a downside that she's a bit plain compared to the other members?
Yumeri, who placed fourth in the Cham Jam popularity poll, was chosen seventh because she has the most plain character among the members. On the positive side, she's a character who can easily play any position and blend in with many different colors. However, she tends to be overshadowed by the strong personalities of Cham Jam...and she has fewer screen time in the series than the other members. However, she appears center on the cover of Volume 6 of the manga, so if you're a Yumeri fan, be sure to check it out!
Sixth Place: Maki Hakata
Our sixth place pick is Maki, a native of Kagawa Prefecture who came in second in the popularity poll! Known as Sexy Yellow, Maki's figure is undeniably the best among the members of Cham Jam. At 160cm tall, she's the tallest member of the group, and she even publicly states that her E-cup bust is her most appealing feature! While all Cham Jam members either applied themselves or were recommended by relatives or acquaintances, Maki was scouted to join.
As a native of Kagawa, she has appeared on television in Shikoku.
Maki is the second most popular member of Cham Jam, and is highly recommended by her agency. She has even appeared as a guest reporter on local TV shows in her hometown of Kagawa. With her calm and collected personality and mature appearance, she worked hard as a reporter and also handled sales. Incidentally, the host of the show was her cousin, Natsumi, an idol from Kagawa.
Fifth Place: Sorane Matsuyama
In fifth place is the cool, blue Sorane, who excels at ad-lib! In cham jam, she was a consistent No. 1 and No. 2 alongside Leo, but her popularity polling issues (though she was actually mistaken for Motoi's sister) caused fans to question her and she dropped significantly from second place to fifth place. When she first appeared, she was called "Cool Blue," but she can also be surprisingly absent-minded and timid, and when she's worried, she'll constantly check her ego search.
Sorane: A Highly Professional Person
Her cool demeanor makes her seem like she can do anything skillfully, but even among the members of cham jam, Sorane is particularly bad at memorizing lyrics and dance moves. However, she has a higher level of professionalism than the other members. When her relationship with Fumi deteriorated due to her issues with men, she said, "It's okay if you don't like me, but we have to appear friendly to the fans," and during her on-stage MC, she made a point of engaging with Fumi to demonstrate their friendship. She seems to have a very high level of professionalism, knowing that she is "watched" by fans at all times.
Fourth Place: Yuka Teramoto
Our fourth place pick is the boundlessly cheerful Yuka! Due to Sorane's drop in the popularity poll, she secured third place, putting her in the front row. At 16 years old, Yuka is the youngest member of Cham Jam. While she's unrivaled in terms of vibe and energy, she's also incredibly dumb (lol). In her private life, Sorane tutors her, but she always ends up saying she doesn't understand a single thing. She's a bit of a loser, and because she's always saying what she wants, she can sometimes throw a chill down the room, but she doesn't seem to mind at all.
Yuka's silly character cheers up the viewer.
Yuka's energetic nature is her redeeming quality, making her a character who perfectly fits the description of "innocent and cheerful." She has a personality that says exactly what she wants to say without any embellishment. Because she's stupid, she doesn't mean any harm, but she often says rude things to her fans, but it's only because of Yuuka's character that she is forgiven, with people saying "it can't be helped, it's Yuuka." When she sees something cute, she will honestly say it's cute, and when she sees a rival idol, she will shout "So cute! I'll support her!" She always forges her own path.
Third Place: Yokota Aya
Our third place pick is "Little Green Aya," also known as Aya, the smallest member of Cham Jam, standing at 147cm tall! Along with Maina, she's one of the least popular characters in the series, coming in sixth in the popularity poll. She was so shocked by the result that her face became far removed from what you'd expect from an idol... (laughs). Still, she's competitive and always thinking about how to become more popular, and her ambition is unmatched by any other member. Although she may look childish, she's 18 years old, making her older than Maina and Yuka.
Her hard work is what makes Fumie great!
Fumie is arguably the most idol-like idol in Cham Jam. A tsundere character, she's usually foul-mouthed and rude, but she's extremely conscious of her role as an idol, and was genuinely angry about Sorane's scandal. Outside of her idol activities, she works at a maid cafe, and her dere (lovey-dovey) behavior with Eripyo and the others there is a must-see! While few fans line up for Fumie at handshake events, she was the most motivated during the popularity poll, aiming to rise above the rest.
Second Place: Ichii Maina
Second place goes to Maina, the main heroine of this series and Eripyo's favorite! In the mid-term results of the cham jam popularity poll, she briefly ranked third (thanks to Eripyo's hard work), but ultimately dropped to her usual seventh place. Although she's shy and reserved, her motivation for becoming an idol was surprisingly her own desire to become one, and she applied for the position herself. By the way, her color is salmon pink, but this was decided by the staff. Maina herself neither likes nor dislikes salmon (her favorite food is bread).
When it comes to Maina, it's her interactions with Eripyo!
The main focus of this series is the interaction between Eripyo and Maina. Their conversations are always slightly out of sync, and their relationship often stagnates due to misunderstandings. Due to Eripyo's intense support, her fan base has not grown significantly. However, not only are Eripyo's feelings for Maina clear, but Maina herself also seems to have special feelings for Eripyo... On rare occasions, their feelings are clearly conveyed, and scenes where Maina gets jealous of Eripyo are particularly noteworthy.
1st Place: Leo Igarashi
Our top pick goes to Leo, the undisputed center and leader of Cham Jam! Leo is the most popular character in the series, and even took first place in the Cham Jam popularity poll. At 22, he's the oldest and most reliable, but his slightly airheaded side is also part of his charm. When Fumi was in a bad mood, she worried he might be going through a rebellious phase (Fumi is 18). She was once a member of a popular group, and at the very bottom of the popularity ladder, she understands Maina's feelings well.
Leo is just so cute!
The reason I chose Leo as number one is, frankly, his overwhelming cuteness. His caring and kind personality are also reasons for his popularity, in addition to his good looks. What's especially cute is Kumasa's signature bear pose! He's the epitome of cuteness. He can get jealous at times, and even when Kumasa visits other idols, he looks displeased, but even that seems adorable.
Summary
So far, we've introduced the popularity rankings for Cham Jam. While the rankings will likely vary depending on your favorites, these are my personal rankings. What do you think?
