Overview

Cool Lancer

A Lancer servant summoned for the Fifth Holy Grail War.

Appears at the beginning of the "Fate/stay night" story. After being spotted by Shirou Emiya during a battle with Archer, he attempts to kill Shirou (which has led to Shirou's dislike of him). He then engages in combat with Saber, summoned by Shirou. After his Noble Phantasm is evaded, he retreats.

He has rarely been seen since the first battle, appearing out of nowhere and becoming an elusive presence.

Character Profile

Lancer

Although uninhibited and foul-mouthed, Lancer has a charming, caring, and straightforward personality. He values conviction and righteousness, and is willing to fight to the death, making him a highly appealing warrior. Due to his exploits in the series, fans often refer to him as "big brother."

Although normally friendly, when it comes to combat, he is extremely strict and cold-hearted.
He will kill any "enemy," even family or close friends, without hesitation. He will never betray or betray his "master," no matter how much he dislikes them.

True Name

Lancer's Technique

Cú Chulainn, the son of light in Ireland and known as the "Ferocious Dog of the Clan," became an apprentice to Queen Scathach of the Land of Shadows, hoping to achieve military glory and win the heart of the princess he fell in love with. He subsequently studied various forms of magic and martial arts under her and was bestowed with the magic spear, Gae Bolg.
After leaving the Land of Shadows, he served as a Knight of the Red Branch under the King of Ulster, battling countless battlefields and making his name known throughout Ireland. However, his best friend, Ferdia, was killed by a scheming scheme by Queen Medb of Connaught. He also kills his own son, Conra, despite being unaware of his existence.

Due to Medb's schemes, he defeats Geish one after another, and while half of his body is paralyzed, he is stabbed to death by a Gae Bolg captured by the enemy. However, he washes his spilled organs with water, places them in his stomach, and ties himself to a stone pillar, remaining steadfast until the very end.

Wish for the Holy Grail

He has no wish for the Holy Grail; all he desires is to "fight the mighty with all his might."

Although he may feel regret for his life, having fought through battles and sacrificed so many, he has no regrets.

Abilities

While he is a minor hero in Japan, if the story were set in Europe, where his fame is greater, he would be on par with Hercules or King Arthur.
If summoned in Ireland, his strength exceeds that of King Arthur, and he gains additional castle Noble Phantasms.
A Servant specialized in "survival," capable of surviving even the most deadly situations. According to Lancer himself and Rin Tohsaka, he can hold his own against both Saber and Archer at the same time as long as he focuses on defense.

It is also said that he fought Gilgamesh for over half a day, leaving him considerably worn down.

Noble Phantasm: Piercing Death-Thorn Spear (Gae Bolg)
A sure-fire hit due to the spear's curse of reversing causality.

The cause of "the spear hitting the heart" is created by creating the result of the spear hitting the heart.

Dodgement requires both the luck to avoid the causal manipulation and the skill to dodge Lancer's lightning-fast spear attacks. The only way to defend against this is to prepare a barrier that surpasses the spear's magical power.

Overview

Berserker's Battle

A Berserker Servant from the Fifth Holy Grail War.
Her master is Illyasviel von Einzbern, a rock-like man with a massive build that could be mistaken for a titan.
If Saber is the 'best,' then Berserker is described as the 'strongest.' Her already exceptional natural strength is boosted by the Berserker class's unique skill, "Madness Enhancement," at the cost of losing some of her sanity and skills, resulting in overwhelming destructive power that leaves her unstoppable in hand-to-hand combat.

True Name

Berserker Technique

His true name is Hercules, the great hero of Greek mythology.
One of the two greatest heroes of Greek mythology. A half-god, half-human hero born to the chief god Zeus and a human daughter. He embarked on countless adventures and overcame them all.
Due to his worldwide fame and seemingly impregnable nature, Illya generously reveals his true identity in the story.
He was summoned as an Einzbern Servant using the Stone Axe Sword, which was a pillar of the temple dedicated to him, as a catalyst. He was given the Madness effect because the Master and Servant invited by the Einzberns in the previous Holy Grail War were betrayed, and so a "completely loyal servant" was desired.
Although he has lost his rationality due to the Madness effect, despite his bestial appearance and strength, he acts with great loyalty towards Illya, and is the first to try to protect her when she is in danger, so it seems he has not lost any of his self-control or sense of chivalry.

Abilities

Berserker

Due to legends of him repeatedly going berserk, he was summoned as a "berserker." However, due to his achievements and mastery of martial arts during his lifetime, he was originally a warrior with aptitude for every class except Caster, as well as extra classes.
This versatility is the highest of all servants (followed by Cu Chulainn and Minamoto no Yorimitsu).
He is said to be strongest when summoned as an Archer.
As an extraordinary Great Heroic Spirit, Illya herself requires extraordinary magical power to manifest in this world. Furthermore, due to the Madness Infested spell, which already wastes magical power, it is believed that an average magician would be depleted of magical power and in danger of death after just one battle.

It is precisely because Illya, a "nature's infant," possesses immense magical power that she is able to control Berserker alone.

Noble Phantasm: The Twelve Trials (God's Hand)

The embodiment of the twelve great feats accomplished by Hercules during his lifetime. It blocks attacks of rank B or lower and has 11 alternate life forms. Furthermore, it provides a certain degree of resistance to killing methods once used, making them impossible to kill again. Illya's immense magical power allows her to recover her magical reserves over time.

Overview

To Rider

A Rider Servant summoned during the Fifth Holy Grail War.
He wears an eyepatch and a black bodycon outfit, and wields a dagger-like stake attached to a chain.
Since his master, Sakura Matou, has abandoned the battle, he fights with Shinji as his substitute master (in the manga, it is revealed that Shinji sacrificed Sakura to summon him).
In both the "Fate Route" and "UBW" routes, as well as the anime based on the "Fate Route," he is treated poorly, and is the first Servant to drop out in both.

Character Profile

Rider

He's quiet and obediently follows Shinji's orders. He displays a ruthless and heartless side, attacking townsfolk and sucking their blood to supply his magical power, and casting a barrier around Homurahara Academy in an attempt to dissolve the people inside.
However, these actions are solely at the command of his acting master, Shinji. Under the guidance of his true master, Sakura, he reveals his true, hidden nature.

True Name

To Rider

Her true name is "Medusa," the youngest of the three Gorgon sisters and a legendary monster from Greek mythology.
Though she is described as a deformed being in legend, her appearance as a Servant is that of her goddess, before she was transformed into a monster. However, her hair appears to be snakes (though it doesn't look like it), and she can control them at will. True to her true identity, she is an "anti-hero" who should have been defeated by a hero.
In life, she was persecuted by the gods for refusing Poseidon's one-sided courtship, and was cursed to become a monster and banished to the "Formless Island."
After that, she lived a modest and happy life with her sisters, who accompanied her, despite being teased by them.
However, as she fought off humans who came to the island seeking military glory and the goddess's favor, her appearance and nature gradually changed into that of a "monster."
Eventually, she began to see even her sisters, who she was meant to protect, as nothing more than a nuisance, and began to prey on them.
In the end, she was defeated by the hero Perseus.

Abilities

She employs tricky tactics, taking advantage of her main weapon, a chained dagger, and her high mobility.
However, her combat abilities are weak in head-on combat, and she is easily cut down by Saber (especially in the "Heaven's Heart Route").
This was when Shinji was her Master. Once Sakura, her true Master, regained her Mastership, her combat abilities would dramatically increase. She was able to overwhelm True Assassin with her superhuman strength, and even contend with Saber Alter, who possessed the highest combat abilities despite the pressure of her Mystic Eyes (though only after constantly overworking herself to the point of physical collapse).

Noble Phantasm: Bellephone (Reins of the Knight)

A golden whip and reins that can control any Phantasmal Species that can be ridden, further enhancing their abilities.

Primarily used on Tenma, her child summoned from a magic circle drawn with her own blood.

By unlocking her True Name, she not only gains a +100 armor bonus, but also removes Tenma's limiter, allowing him to charge at a breakneck speed of 400-500 km/h, emitting a meteor-like light. At the same time, she generates a massive magical barrier to protect herself and Tenma, making this an exceptional Noble Phantasm that combines both offense and defense.
