D4DJ is a DJ-themed anime, game, and other media content. The second series of the anime is scheduled to be broadcast in 2023. The first series was broadcast in 2020, but since it's been a while, many people would like to review the content again. This time, I would like to look back on the contents of the first series before watching the new series!

Synopsis 1: Rinku learns what DJing is

Aimoto Rinku transfers to Yoyo Academy, which is famous for its active DJ activities. Intrigued by the school's internal broadcast during lunch break, Rinku rushes into the broadcasting room and is surprised by his classmate Akashi Mahiro. After hearing about DJing from Mahiro, Rinku is taken to a live performance by Peaky P-key, the most popular unit at school. Overwhelmed by the performance, Rinku immediately decides to become a DJ. After Mahiro teaches Rinku the basics of DJing, Rinku listens to a song and immediately decides which song to connect to next, surprising Mahiro. Mahiro realizes that he intuitively feels music by letting it resonate with his body, and feels that he might be able to make it with Rinku.

Synopsis 2: Reunion with Muni, then joining

Rinku and Mahiru were in a cafe discussing the design of a live poster. Onaruto Muni, who was watching the scene nearby, was actually Rinku's childhood friend. Muni, who was fed up with the poster's over-the-top design, decided to design it despite being looked at with suspicion by Mahiru. After that, she ended up joining Rinku and Mahiru's unit, but disappeared on the day of the live performance. Muni is an active artist online, but she has always had low self-confidence, and would get depressed if she received negative comments on her drawings. This personality caused her to believe that she was not confident that she could do well at this live show. Rinku, who has a hunch about where Muni may have gone as a childhood friend, finds her, persuades her, and successfully completes the live show.

Synopsis 3: An invitation from Kyoko

Rinku is invited by Kyoko Yamate of Peaky P-key to a Christmas live show they are hosting. On the day of the concert, Kyoko, who was on stage at the venue, asked Rinku to perform with her. Rinku jumped on stage and joined the concert, livening up the concert with her natural cheerfulness and musical sense. The excitement made Mahiro think that Rinku might be recruited by Peaky P-key. Later, Mahiro met Shinobu Inuyose by chance and ended up visiting her house. As they talked, Shinobu realized that Mahiro was not happy about Rinku being recruited, so she advised him to "go beyond your own music and performance." Influenced by her words, Mahiro became even more motivated as a DJ.

Synopsis 4: Showdown with Photon Maiden!

Rinku and the others will battle Photon Maiden in a one-on-one battle for the right to participate in the sunset stage of the school festival. With the support of a talented producer, Sakihime and the others are perfecting their performance for the big day. Meanwhile, as a strategy, Rinku and the others will have Tozuki Rei sing a new song. Having accidentally witnessed Rei singing while playing the piano, Rinku was attracted by her playing and singing ability and appealed to her that Rei should be the vocalist. At first, Rei couldn't hide her confusion, but with the support of the other members, she decided to take on the challenge. And finally, the big day begins. Both groups put on a great performance, but Happy Around! won the vote. Later, Sakihime feels that there is a color she has never seen before in Rinku and the others' performance. She begins to think that there must be possibilities she has not seen yet. The Photon Maiden song that was performed afterwards had evolved into a higher level of music than ever before, incorporating new sounds.

Synopsis ⑤ Rap Battle!

The members decided to rap on Rinku's whim. Rinku and Muni immediately had a rap battle, but Rinku didn't seem to understand rapping very well, couldn't rhyme, and seemed to struggle from start to finish. On the other hand, Muni surprised the other members with a wonderful rap that didn't seem like an improvisation. After that, Rinku studied rapping with Muni at her house, but he seemed to be unable to concentrate, being distracted by messages from other people. Muni became irritated by Rinku and became upset. Rinku sensed this and left the room awkwardly. The relationship between the two remained strained after that, and both Mahiro and Uruha sensed that something had happened between them. After that, Rinku and Muni were called to a certain place by Mahiro and the others. When they entered, it was a DJ booth. It was Mahiro and Uruha's idea that if the two people who were passing each other by could express their feelings to each other through rap, they might be able to make up. Although Rinku and Muni were confused, they took turns rapping, and gradually they became closer. Muni was dissatisfied that Rinku was not in the mood even though she was with him. Rinku, who did not realize this, reflected on his actions and successfully reconciled with him.

Synopsis ⑥ The long-awaited Sunset Stage

Rinku and the others were able to participate in the Sunset Stage that they had dreamed of. And on stage, they were to face the absolute champion. That absolute champion was, of course, Peaky P-key. Both of them performed at their best, but in the end, Peaky P-key won. Although they lost, Rinku and the others were filled with a sense of satisfaction. At the end, everyone, including Photon Maiden, performed together, and the stage was very exciting.

Synopsis Summary

The highlights of the first series were the formation of Happy Around!, the introduction of other units, and the showdown with rivals. There are still units that have hardly appeared in the anime, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they will perform in the new series! That's all for now. Thank you for reading.
