Beautiful, intelligent, and truly beautiful, Kirima Nagi is the character we'll be introducing today. She is a second-year high school student and classmate of the protagonist, Miyashita Touka, who houses Boogiepop, at Prefectural Shinyo Academy. However, because she took a year off school, she is one year older, at 18 years old.

In fact, she seems to be quite a problem child, giving her teachers a hard time. She doesn't attend school very often and is always called in for help. She has a strong competitive spirit and a strong sense of justice. She's quite a quirky girl.

Her father, Seiichi Kirima, was a well-known author of books dealing with criminal psychology. He is now deceased, and Nagi lives off his inheritance. She doesn't seem to like her father very much, and seems indifferent to him. I wonder what happened?

In the opening of the anime, she fights a large man with her bare hands and easily wins with a chokehold. There's also a scene where she fights Boogiepop, and she's quite the formidable fighter! The battle scenes are also pretty cool and worth watching!

Nagi's actions are based on the principle of "standing for justice." She even calls herself that, and to achieve that, she's ruthless enough to attack a classmate from behind (lol). However, Nagi is also struggling with a certain conflict that leads her to take such actions.

Nagi's greatest secret and greatest humiliation is that the fire witch "Walpurgis" resides within her. Walpurgis is a feared entity known as the fire witch, possessing the power of "repulsion" that blows everything away. Little by little, Nagi begins to realize that this terrifying witch lies dormant within her.

She's a normal (though a little strange, lol) high school girl, but behind the scenes, she fights the synthetic human, MPLS, day and night to resist the witch within her. Nagi's goal is to defeat the fire witch, "Walpurgis." Incidentally, "Walpurgis" survives by transforming into the best vessel (body). Its will is passed down, and before Nagi, it was her mother's body.

This is Naoko Kamikishiro, Nagi's only close friend. She is a third-year high school student at Shinyo Academy, the same school as Nagi. Her loss has severed Nagi's mental strength. When a friend or someone close to her dies, she instantly loses her composure. This is Nagi's only weakness.

The voice of Nagi in this episode of [Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh] is Saori Onishi, a very popular voice actress who is famous for her "water-drinking" voice! She often voices cool characters, so she's the perfect fit for Nagi. By the way, the name "water-drinking" apparently came from the fact that she drank a total of 3 liters of water during a radio program. That's a lot of drinking, lol.
