"BANANA FISH" is an anime currently airing. It is based on the manga of the same name by Yoshida Akimi, which was serialized in "Bessatsu Shojo Comic" from 1985 to 1994. Furthermore, Ash is handsome, has blonde hair and green eyes, and is a first-class marksman, martial artist, and even knife handler, endowing him with exceptional combat abilities. However, Ash seems to have it all, but as a child he was the victim of a sexual assault and was later sold to a shop that facilitated juvenile prostitution, and even now that he is an adult, he still has flashbacks to this experience.

Shorter is the best friend of Ash Lynx, the protagonist of the series, and the boss of New York's Chinatown. He has a friendly and cheerful personality, is caring towards his friends, and has a big brotherly personality. His hair is a unique purple color, and half of it is shaved. His family runs a Chinese restaurant. He is very caring towards his friends, as he is the first to take action and come to their rescue with his friends when Ash is held captive by a rival organization, and he also rushes to the scene when Eiji Okumura is in danger. He is a smart and proactive person who will help out in an emergency. In the anime version, he is voiced by Furukawa Makoto.

One of Ash Lynx's minions. Although he looks young, around his early teens, his friendly and kind personality means he's often found close to Ash. He even stays at home with Ash when he's not around. Despite his young age, he is skilled at gathering information, has a sharp mind, and deeply respects Ash, whom Ash trusts. He is also calm and collected, even in dangerous places and situations. His voice actor in the anime version is Ayumu Murase.
