<![CDATA[The original is a light novel by Iruma Hitoma that was serialized in Vol. 28 of Dengeki Bunko Magazine in 2013, and was made into a manga in 2016, with an anime adaptation scheduled to air in October 2020. It is a slice-of-life story centered around two girls, Adachi and Shimamura, who gradually become attracted to each other and develop a relationship that is more than just friends... it is a so-called yuri story. In this article, we will introduce the sacred places of Gifu Prefecture and Aichi Prefecture, which served as the model for the setting of this work, in relation to the work itself. Incidentally, the author, Iruma Hitoma, is originally from Gifu Prefecture.
AEON Mall Kakamigahara
AEON Mall is located at 3-8 Nakayaba-cho, Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture. It is a 12-minute walk from Shinkano Station on the Meitetsu Kakamigahara Line.
This is where Adachi and Hino bought the tea called "Legend of Africa". It is also said to be the place where the fountain square where Shimamura and Nagato test-threw the boomerang that was Adachi's Christmas present is located.
Depiction in the work
There is a store called "Mikuniya Zengoro" in Aeon Mall, and it is the model for this.
The Legend of Africa is said to be displayed in the same place as in the work.
Also, although the information board says it is a fountain square, there is no fountain in the square, and it was probably removed during the renovation.
Hoshinomiya Shrine
This shrine is located at 616 Miyanishi, Honhoshizakicho, Minami-ku, Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, and is a 10-minute walk from Honhoshizaki Station on the Meitetsu Nagoya Line.
Some of you may recognize this name, but the Hoshinomiya Shrine that appears in another work by Iruma Ningen, "Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko," is named after this shrine.
This place has a deep connection to Iruma Ningen's works.
There are familiar characters on the shrine grounds...
On the mountaintop behind the main shrine, there are two shrines, Kamichigama Shrine and Shimichigama Shrine.
The name is... Yashiro. It is the origin of the Chigama Shrine of the self-proclaimed man from the future.
Molera Gifu
A large shopping mall located at 1100 Mitsuhashi, Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture, it is a one-minute walk from "Molera Gifu Station" on the Tarumi Railway.
Many scenes in the work are modeled after the complex entertainment space within this facility.
Of course, there is also a donut shop.
The bowling contest takes place here
The air hockey that Adachi and Shimamura played on Christmas and the bowling contest between Adachi and Yashiro were modeled after the Round 1 located inside the facility.
Kinkabashi Bridge
This bridge spans the Nagara River in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture, and in the original story, it is the place where Tarumi summoned Shimamura and drew his portrait.
Across the bridge is Shoryu, a restaurant that is said to have been the model for Adachi's part-time job.
JR Central Gifu Station
This is a Central Japan Railway Company station located at 1-10 Hashimoto-cho, Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture.
The scene where Adachi and Shimamura eat donuts after school was modeled after this station.
Mister Donuts, of course
The name of the store is hidden by the speech bubble, but since there is a Mister Donuts inside Gifu Station, the Mister Donuts inside Gifu Station must have been the model for this scene.
The Dengeki comic version depicts this scene in great detail, and it seems that they put a lot of emphasis on reproduction, so it's definitely something you should check out.
We will introduce the sacred places in Gifu and Aichi prefectures in relation to the work! Summary
What did you think?
As it is said to be a sacred place, it is surprising that it is not just a model, but is reproduced in detail.
It is also interesting that Iruma Ningen's works have some common points such as characters and places even in different works.
With that in mind, why not take the book and go on a pilgrimage to the sacred place before the anime starts?
