This episode will spotlight Mr. Aizawa, the teacher in charge of Class A at U.A. High School, from the hit manga "My Hero Academia." We'll show you all the cool things about this pro hero and high school teacher! He's not just a dirty teacher! (lol)

Who is Mr. Aizawa?

He has two faces!

Aizawa Shota is a professional hero and the homeroom teacher of Class 1-A at U.A. High School. His hero name is "Eraserhead, the Eraser Hero" and his quirk is "Erasure." It's safe to say he's virtually unknown to the public. Even Deku, the hero nerd that he is, had a hard time remembering it. Unlike All Might, Aizawa-sensei has always disliked media appearances because he felt it would interfere with his work. So, during the Universal Studios Japan raid arc, he repeatedly called Aizawa-sensei "filthy" when he was dealing with the media, and it seems he didn't think of him as a professional hero (lol).

The story behind his hero name!?

The hero name "Eraserhead" was given to Aizawa-sensei when he was still a student at U.A. High School. However, when he was struggling to come up with a hero name (or was too lazy), Present Mic, another U.A. High School teacher, sat next to him and gave him the name. The two of them are classmates! Their personalities are polar opposites, so they might not seem like a good match, but Present Mic is the funny guy and Aizawa is the straight man, so they make a great pair.

Is Aizawa the ultimate rationalist?

Is he really cold-hearted...?

Mr. Aizawa has a ruthless history of expelling students he deems unpromising. Before Izuku's year, he was so ruthless that he expelled his entire class. Plus, his cool looks and personality made classes a little nerve-wracking at first. However, he doesn't just discard someone because he doesn't like them. As he once said, "I'll always discard someone who has no hope. There's nothing more cruel than forcing someone to pursue their dreams half-heartedly." This is actually Aizawa's way of being kind. However, as with Izuku, he quickly retracts his expulsion order if there's even the slightest bit of promise. Incidentally, he's expelled a student a total of 154 times, a surprising triple-digit number. It's scary, after all (lol).

What do you hate most...?

A rationalist, Mr. Aizawa hates wasting time more than anything. During Class A homeroom, he sleeps in his sleeping bag whenever he can. He sleeps because he doesn't want to waste the time waiting for the agenda to be decided during private discussions. This is the result of his excessive pursuit of rationality, but he's so focused on it that he ends up just grabbing a jelly drink for dinner. He drinks in a flash (lol). He's also the complete opposite of fashionable. He has scruffy stubble, messy long hair, and an all-black outfit that's nothing fancy. It's the ultimate minimalism.

Three quotes from Mr. Aizawa that show his concern for his students!

Mr. Aizawa's words and appearance give the impression of being cold-hearted, but he cares about his students, and Recovery Girl even said, "He's such a sweet guy, after all!" Here are some quotes that prove that!

Part 1: "If you want to pretend to be friends, go somewhere else. This is the hero department."

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

This is his first appearance. He probably feels the same way as always, but when you first meet him, you're left speechless (lol). This line may seem a little cold, but if you want to become the strongest hero, it's not "Let's become heroes together," but "Become a hero stronger than anyone else." It's good to be friends, but the question is why you came to U.A. High School. It's strict kindness!

Part 2: "He wants to be the best hero more than anyone else... and he's struggling. If the villains see that and see an opening, I think they're being foolish."

These words were spoken during a press conference apologizing for the kidnapping of Bakugo Katsuki by villains during a forest camp and the harm he caused to other students. U.A. High School, a place dedicated to cultivating heroes, has been attacked by villains countless times. Concerns were voiced not only among the public but also among parents. This was a response to a question from the media, which suggested that Bakugo's hot-headed personality might have been the reason he was targeted by villains. You're really paying attention, aren't you? That's right. Bakugo hates to lose more than anyone, and he's more obsessed with being the No. 1 hero than anyone. He's also impatient because of Izuku's growth. He's also frustrated with himself for being a frog in a well. Mr. Aizawa understands this, and he guides Bakugo with an understanding of both his strengths and weaknesses! He's truly a great teacher. Of course, Bakugo's parents were also watching this press conference, and he will continue to be in charge of teaching at U.A. High School!

And Aizawa-sensei's slicked-back hair looks irresistibly cool! (lol) He's usually a bit unkempt, but on this day he had cleaned it up. Also, he hates the media, so at first I thought he'd get angry at this question, but his mature response made me smile!

Part 3: "So, please tell me when this whole mess is over. Please put as much emphasis on the 'thank you' as possible."

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

This is from when Deku desperately saved Izumi Kouta from an attack by villains during a forest training camp, entrusting him to Mr. Aizawa. At that time, Kota was worried about Izuku, the first person he had ever trusted, who had desperately protected him. He couldn't even say "thank you" or "sorry," and tearfully asked Mr. Aizawa if he was okay. From the teacher's perspective, Izuku's actions were unacceptable. As a student, not yet a hero, they were extremely dangerous and would bring criticism of U.A. High School from the public. He couldn't keep saying that, though. So Kota was the only one who could praise Izuku. And Mr. Aizawa was also grateful, in fact. For saving Kota, and for both of them being alive. How cool!

What is Mr. Aizawa's Quirk?

He's a different person during battle!?

Source: My Hero Academia © Kohei Horikoshi/Shueisha, My Hero Academia Production Committee

As mentioned above, Aizawa's Quirk is "Erasure." He can erase the Quirk only while looking at the target. However, Aizawa says it's more like suppression than erasure. The effect disappears when he blinks. And the Quirk remains active even if the target is not constantly in his field of vision. When his Quirk is activated, his eyes turn red and his hair stands on end. He's sharp and cool, not the usual slow and laid-back Aizawa-sensei! He's basically good at erasing Quirks in surprise attacks against small numbers of opponents, or for short-term battles. However, by wearing the goggles around his neck, he can attack against large numbers of opponents without being seen by them, disrupting their coordination and allowing them to attack. He was very useful in the USJ raid arc! Incidentally, there are certain targets whose Quirks can be erased. Only activation and transformation types can be erased, and those with deformed Quirks cannot have their Quirks erased. That's a bit of a drawback.

And what's more?!

He can use the long cloth wrapped around his neck to restrain opponents, or to throw them after restraining them. He uses it as dexterously as a hand, and when facing multiple enemies, he can toy with villains with his eye-catching movements. "It takes more than just one skill!" However, since his Quirk requires constant use of his eyes, it's a bit disappointing to know that he always keeps eye drops on hand to deal with dry eyes (lol).

Who is Aizawa-sensei's voice actor? Voice actor enthusiasts can rest assured!

Aizawa-sensei's voice is husky and cool. It's voiced by Junichi Suwabe. He's incredibly famous! His most notable works include "The Prince of Tennis" - Atobe Keigo and "Kuroko's Basketball" - Aomine Daiki! He's known for his miraculously sexy voice, and he's played a wide variety of roles. His CDs regularly make it into the top charts on the Oricon charts! His voice is a perfect match for Aizawa-sensei's unique worldview.

This is a preview of Professor Aizawa drawn by author Kohei Horikoshi. Seriously, it's super scary (lol), but I love it! He's holding a cat! That's right. Mr. Aizawa is a cat lover. Isn't that surprising? He's actually really adoring his cat with this expression. I love how kind Mr. Aizawa is!
