The popular anime "Yo-kai Watch" features a variety of yokai, but its charm doesn't end there. "Yo-kai Watch" also features many fascinating human characters! In this article, we'll introduce some of the human characters that appear in "Yo-kai Watch"!
Charming Human #1: Keita
First up, the story's protagonist, "Amano Keita"! A fifth-grade boy. He's average at everything he does, and feels inferior about being too "normal." He owns a "Yokai Watch," an item that allows him to see yokai, and has made friends with many of them. He's interested in Fumi-chan, a girl in his class.
Will Keita become a yokai too?!
In fact, Keita can also become a yokai. This is what he looks like. His name is "Fuu 2," and he transforms anything he possesses into normal. He first appeared in the movie, but he also appears occasionally in the anime. The star on his stomach is inspired by Keita's clothing.
Charming People ②: Fumi-chan
This is Fumi-chan, also known as "Kodama Fumika." In the game, like Keita, she is the female protagonist. She has a different style of Yo-kai Watch, a cute pocket watch-style one from Keita's. However, in the anime, she appears as Keita's classmate, and because she doesn't have a Yo-kai Watch, she can't see any Yo-kai. She's cute and is a character that Keita finds interesting.
Charming Person 3: Inaho
She is the second main character, appearing in the second season of the Yo-kai Watch anime. She loves anime and science fiction and describes herself as a "slight otaku." She often gets out of hand, while her partner USApyon is always there to make amends. She has a fast, rapid-fire way of speaking that is reminiscent of a typical "fujoshi" (?). However, her voice actress is Aoi Yuki, so she's very cute. She also seems to love handsome characters, and once gave her favorite character chocolate on Valentine's Day.
She's had a makeover and become a beautiful girl!?
There's an episode where Inaho dresses up after various events, and she's so cute in that scene! It became a hot topic!
Charming People ④: Keizo
He's a boy who admires the hero of a superhero manga, "The Invincible Champion, Guts Mask." He has the wild personality of a country boy. (But he hides his dialect!) He looks very similar to Keita, but he's actually Keita's grandfather. He developed the original "Yo-kai Watch" 60 years ago and is always with Fuyunyan.
Charming Person ⑤: Ishida Mitsunari
This is Ishida Mitsunari, a Sengoku period warlord famous for the Battle of Sekigahara. One day, Ishida Mitsunari becomes interested in Keinosuke, a boy famous in town for pretending to know everything, and invites him to the castle. There, he meets not Whisper, who has been possessing Keinosuke, but a yokai called "Shittakaburi." Long ago, Whisper served Ishida Mitsunari and was always by his side.
Charming People ⑥: Mulder & Kakuree
Mulder is on the right, and Kakuree is on the left. They first appeared in the game "Yo-kai Watch 3." They are FBY agents who came to Japan from the United States to investigate paranormal activity. Incidentally, Mulder believes in the paranormal, while Kakuree does not. To Cackley, who thinks about things in a more realistic way, Mulder says, "Your ideas are poor and unimpressive. In other words, they're Level 1 in terms of ideas." Cackley's signature line is his sarcastic response, "Not as good as your face."
A collection of fascinating people!
That concludes our introduction to the fascinating humans who appear in "Yo-kai Watch"! It's clear that there's more to it than just the yokai; the humans themselves have plenty of charm. The new Yo-kai Watch chapter, which began in April 2018, will also feature many human characters. If you're interested, be sure to check it out!
