"Yakinara Mug Cup Mo" is an anime set in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture, depicting the activities of high school girls who are devoted to pottery. Various characters appear, such as the main character whose mother was a potter, energetic and cheerful classmates, a senior who is stoically devoted to pottery, and a person who is in the club room but is not a member. This time, we would like to announce the most popular characters in a ranking format among such unique characters!

5th place: Mami Koizumi

Mami Koizumi speaking to students

Ranked in 5th place is Mami Koizumi. She is the advisor for the pottery club to which the main character, Himeno Toyokawa, belongs. She is also the homeroom teacher for Himeno and Mika's class. As an advisor, I think she could do pottery herself and teach the techniques to the students, but there is no depiction of that happening so far. We may see such scenes in the second season that will be broadcast in the future. Although she is in the position of advisor, she appears less frequently than other characters, so she is ranked 5th.

4th place: Naoko Naruse

Naoko Naruse in the club room

Ranked in 4th place is Naoko Naruse. Although she is in a different class than Himeno and Mika, they are in the same year and get along well. She lives near Himeno's house, so they are essentially neighbors. Her family runs a barber shop from home. She often comes to the pottery club room and hangs out, but she is not a member and does not do pottery. She is always spending her time doing something else, such as reading a book. She is friendly and actively helps Himeno and the others with whatever they are trying to do. Although there are no scenes in which she does pottery, there are several scenes that suggest she has a great deal of knowledge about pottery.

Third place: Aoki Touko

Ranked third is Aoki Touko. She is the captain of the pottery club that Himeno and her friends belong to, and is a senior who is one year older than Himeno and her friends. She is childhood friends with Mika, and although she sometimes scolds Mika, they are so close that you don't feel the relationship between senior and junior. Her grandfather is a potter, and Touko herself has been influenced by her grandfather, and she is trying to master the path of pottery. When she saw the pottery that Himeno brought from home, she immediately realized that it was Himeno's mother's work. She has a cool and stoic personality. Although she can be emotional at times, she also has a caring side, such as gently teaching her juniors how to use the pottery wheel and giving them advice on creating works.

Second place: Mika Kukuri

Mika Kukuri talking about pottery

Ranked second is Mika Kukuri. She is a member of the pottery club and a classmate of Himeno. When introducing herself, she misheard Himeno's name as the famous potter "Tokigawa Himena" and invited her to join the pottery club. She is always cheerful and energetic, and is something of a mood maker in the pottery club. Her excessive energy sometimes gets her childhood friend Touko angry, but Touko thinks highly of her. Mika also cares deeply for Touko. The pieces that Mika makes are not plates or cups, but many original accessories. She was in the art club in middle school, so perhaps she is making use of the experience and sense she gained then.

1st place: Toyokawa Himeno

Ranked in 1st place is Toyokawa Himeno. She is the protagonist of this work. She moved to Tajimi City with her father, and at the high school she moved to, she is invited by Mika to the pottery club room. Her mother is the famous potter "Tokigawa Himena" (already deceased). Himeno herself brings Himena's work to school without knowing this fact, and only learns about her mother when Kukuri and Touko tell her. From there, she became attracted to the charm of pottery and decided to join the pottery club. Although she had no experience with pottery before joining the club, Himeno was inspired by the other members and started thinking about her own works. As the story progresses, she learns more about her mother's works and her thoughts, which influences the works Himeno creates. She sketches images for her works, but she is surprisingly bad at drawing.
