It's a music project that has garnered attention for its CDs and drama segments, featuring characters representing each month from January to December. The first season of the anime aired to great acclaim, and with the long-awaited second season scheduled for broadcast in 2020, the excitement is building. Two idol units appear in "Tsukiuta." This article introduces "Procellarum."
What kind of unit is Procellarum?
"Procellarum" is a unit made up of "Tsukiuta" characters who are in charge of the months of June through November. They're commonly known as "Procellarum." They wear primarily white outfits and feature a unique cast of characters. Incidentally, "Procellarum" means "stormy" in Latin. They're a pair, with Six Gravity hailing from the Kanto region and Procellarum hailing from the Kansai region. Procellarum Members' Introduction! Part 1☆ Minazuki Rui (June)
Minazuki Rui (Minazuki Rui), who will be performing for June, was born on June 16th in Shiga Prefecture. She comes from a distinguished musical family, with her mother a pianist and her father a conductor. Possessing perfect pitch, Rui's musical talent is also exceptional, making her a genius. Surrounded by music from a young age, she has even competed in international piano competitions. She is the second of two brothers, and her older brother's name is Rei. Rei, who was not blessed with musical talent, is extremely jealous of the genius-type Namida, which led to Namida being seriously injured in the past. To escape a feud with his brother and his parents' insistence that he pursue a classical music career, he ran away from home and now lives at a beach house.
Since moving into Tsukino Dorm...
After moving into Tsukino Dorm, Namida initially kept her distance from others. However, she now seems to have opened up and is living a calmer life. Her natural naivety is gradually emerging, and her laid-back attitude has led to rumors of her potential as a star. Incidentally, Namida, who was immersed in music from a young age, rarely attended school and is apparently not good at dance or other physical activities. Although he claims to have improved his physical strength, it's still below average. He also studied piano abroad and has lived abroad.
Procellarum Members' Introduction! Part 2☆ Kai Fuzuki (July)
July's Kai Fuzuki (Fuzuki Kai) was born on July 15th in Osaka Prefecture. He is the eldest of six siblings. Desiring independence over academics, Kai worked part-time jobs throughout high school, building a network of connections. After graduating, he opened a general store (Yorozuya). He has a generous and energetic personality, and is popular with both sexes. However, he claims he struggles with women because he tends to be too careful around them. He has a kind personality, and adopted Rui Minazuki.
His first love...
In fact, he once lost his first love to illness. While that moment is now a memory, there's an episode in the first season of the anime that mentions her, so be sure to check it out! He's also a big brother figure to everyone, waking up the Procellarum members in the morning. His solo activities include line-fishing for tuna, farming, and exploring remote areas—far from typical idol-like pursuits.
Procellarum Members' Introduction! Part 3☆ Hazuki Yo (August Member)
Hazuki Yo (Hazuki Yo), the August member, was born on August 13th in Nara Prefecture. He believes in female superiority and is known as the "enemy of men." Although he seems a bit unsteady, he apparently has plans to take over his family's temple in the future. He's a troublemaker who confuses those around him, but he's actually a loyal person (though he'd rather die if others found out). He's surprisingly earnest, and during high school he commuted between Nara and Tokyo to balance work and studies. He also seems to have a shy side.
Friends with Kisaragi Koi
By the way, he and Kisaragi Koi (a member of Gravure Idol Club) seem to get along well and are good friends. Kisaragi Koi calls him "Genau-san." The curry he makes is called "Gena Curry," and it's said to be delicious even though it's made with just the right ingredients. Although she intends to be laid-back, she often finds herself playing the straight man role in the Procellarum group, which is filled with unique characters.
Procellarum Members Introducing! Part 4☆Nagatuki Yoru (September)
Nagatuki Yoru, who is in charge of September, was born on September 7th in Nara Prefecture. She has an honest and earnest personality, and is known as the conscience of Procellarum. She is extremely dexterous and loves cooking. Even in the female-dominated and female-supremacist Umi, Yoru is recognized as the best cook. While she can cook a wide variety of dishes, including French, Chinese, and Italian, her specialty is home-style Japanese cuisine.
Hazuki Yo's Pilot
Yoru is Hazuki Yo's childhood friend and pilot. She has a more mature outlook than her years and is quite popular with older members. Furthermore, she seems to consider herself more modest than the other members. She and Aoi are sometimes referred to as the "girl power duo," but recently, she's gone beyond that and is being called "Procellarum's mother."
Procellarum Member Introducing! Part 5☆ Kannaduki Iku (October)
Kannaduki Iku (Kannaduki Iku), the October member. His birthday is October 21st, and he hails from Hyogo Prefecture. He's a lively and cheerful boy with exceptional athletic ability. While usually composed, he's also considerate of those around him and has a manly personality that everyone recognizes. Being the same age as Minazuki Rui, he's currently working hard to get closer to her. Furthermore, he admires Haru and Umi, and says that tall, mature men are his goal.
Is he good at fighting?
Even if he fights with Namida, he always calms down and makes up quickly. For this reason, he's described as "good at fighting." Incidentally, he's good at sports, and in the first season of the anime, he was shown doing track and field. Furthermore, because he grew up in a normal family and has normal sensibilities, he's a valuable straight man within Procellarum.
Introducing the Procellarum Members! No. 6☆ Shun Shimotsuki (November)
Shun Shimotsuki (Shimotsuki Shun), who is in charge of November, is born on November 24th in Kyoto Prefecture. He is the leader of Procellarum. He is a handsome young man with a mysterious charisma. His meaningful smiles and behavior often leave those around him perplexed, but it seems there is no deeper meaning to them. He often appears detached from the world, which is why those around him are so supportive. However, he is the son of a distinguished Kyoto family whose lineage is even that of the Imperial family. He also has impressive academic ability, and is a third-year student at a prestigious private high school with the highest average score in western Japan. He competes with Hajime Mutsuki and Haru Yayoi for the top spot in national mock exams.
A huge fan of Hajime Mutsuki!
Shun Shimotsuki is also known to be a huge fan of Hajime Mutsuki (the leader of Gravure Girls). He is member number 6 of the Hajime Mutsuki fan club. He also constantly teases his partner Kai Fuzuki, but he says the tea he makes is the best. He also seems to have mysterious powers, such as a "blindfold charm" (?) that allows him to walk undetected in a crowd, make it snow out of season, and summon animals from another world. He's a very mysterious character.
Procellarum Member Introduction! Summary
That concludes our introduction to the Procellarum members. Like the Gravure idols, Procellarum also boasts a diverse cast of members. From leader Shun Shimotsuki to the airheaded and laid-back Namida and the elusive Haru Hazuki, there's a diverse cast of characters. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of role he will play in the second season of the anime.
