The third season of the wildly popular anime "There's No Medicine for My Brother!" is about to begin! Based on a popular Chinese webcomic, the series is a well-paced, three-minute anime, and the first and second seasons aired in Japan to great acclaim. While the anime primarily focuses on the main siblings, what exactly is it about? This article provides a detailed look at the plot of "There's No Medicine for My Brother!". Be sure to check it out before the third season begins.
Part 1★ The silly interactions between the main siblings are fun!
The main story focuses on the interactions between the two main siblings. The dialogue between the silly and incompetent older brother, Shifun, and his violent younger sister, Shimyo, is a lot of fun. The usual pattern is that Shifun does something wrong (usually something that would anger his sister), and Shimyo punishes him with violence! At first glance, it may seem like the sister is just being violent, but most of the time it's Shifun who's making the mistakes, so it can't be helped.
Punishment Scene
Here's the scene where Shifun uses a martial arts technique on Shifun! It's pretty impressive, isn't it? In fact, Tokibyo loved drawing when he was little, but he accidentally enrolled in a martial arts class instead of an art class (!) and ended up learning martial arts. As a result, he quickly became stronger. It turns out he had an unexpected talent.
Part 2★The Gags Are Funny
The anime "There's No Medicine for My Brother!" is primarily a comedy comedy. While the dialogue between the two characters is fun, the interactions with the surrounding characters are also addictive. There are a variety of hilarious gags, so be sure to check out the anime.
Eating snacks during class!
There's a story in Season 2 about eating snacks during class, and it's hilarious how Tokibun and Kaishin try and figure out how to avoid being noticed. The moment Tokibun put a large candy in his mouth, the teacher pointed it out, and he swallowed it without hesitation. Afterwards, Tokibun was worried about Kaishin's ability to eat the noisy snacks, but Kaishin managed to hold on by soaking the candy in his mouth.
Still Eating
Later, Tokibun tried to eat "latiao" (a famous Chinese dessert), which is said to be very greasy and smelly. My hands were sticky and smelled bad, so the teacher almost noticed. I rubbed the oil from my hands into my hair (!) and got away with it with a lame excuse: "I've been studying so hard I haven't taken a bath in four days," and "If that's why I smell weird, that's probably why!" The teacher didn't say anything back and went back to class. Watching the whole thing from the sidelines, Banzai commented, "That's the kind of thing a commoner would think," but also thought excitedly, "It looks like a lot of fun." So he said, "I'll join them too," and boiled water and started making instant ramen in the middle of class. Naturally, the teacher found out...
Story #3★Each character's personality shines!
"There's No Medicine for My Brother!" features many unique characters. Each character's personality shines, making it very interesting. It's also fun to watch the relationships between them.
Shihun
First up is Shihun, the older brother of the main siblings. He's basically a loser, has no guts, and doesn't have a girlfriend... so he's always doing stupid things and getting scolded by his younger sister, Shimyo. While he may seem all bad at first glance, he actually struggles for his sister and seems to want to be seen as a good older brother. While he might look handsome if he's quiet, he's not particularly popular with girls due to his bad behavior. However, due to his complicated family background, he and his sister often support each other.
Shimyo
And then there's Shimyo, the younger sister of the main characters. Shimyo is very cute, but she's also good at martial arts, so she's always punishing her brother for his foolish behavior. However, she also has a girly side, and when it comes to romance, she's quite blind. The contrast is adorable, isn't it? Incidentally, she's in love with Kaishin, a friend of Shimyo's, but it doesn't seem like their romance will ever come to fruition. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in season 3.
Kaishin
She's Shimyo's friend. He often hangs out with Tokifumi and is a member of the same basketball club (Kaishin is the ace and Tokifumi is a substitute), and they often do silly things together, just like Tokifumi, and they seem to make a good pair. He has a refreshingly handsome appearance, so he seems to be popular with the girls, and he often receives treats from them during club activities (although Tokifumi ends up eating them, saying they're poisonous). By the way, he is quite popular, and it seems that having so many fans has caused him trouble, as he has had listening devices planted on him and been tried to kiss him while he was sleeping. Tokifumi has feelings for him, but he doesn't seem to be aware of it.
Banzai
He's the son of a wealthy family. He transferred to a regular middle school to hide his true identity and experience the life of a commoner. He's handsome and popular with girls, but he tries desperately to keep his true identity a secret. His mother, who lives in Dubai, is quite strong-willed and doesn't approve of her son interacting with commoners. She even tried to buy the school. At the time, Banzai was angry, saying, "I have precious friends at school," and "Mom doesn't understand anything." Tired of the rich kid lifestyle, Banzai loves school and cares deeply for his friends.
Manshin
He is the younger brother of Banzai, a wealthy man. Unlike his older brother, Banzai, he doesn't try to hide his status. He's quite intelligent, and although he's actually an elementary school student, he skipped a grade and enrolled in junior high school as a third-year student. He's in the same class as Tokibyou. At first, he seems somewhat dissatisfied with the lifestyle of the common people, calling the food in the cafeteria "pig feed." However, his mother told him to keep an eye on his brother (or maybe even monitor him), and he once visited Tokibyou's house. At the time, I was shocked by his self-indulgence, but it seems he's discovered the deliciousness of instant noodles, and he seems to be enjoying life at middle school as normal.
Part 4★ The characters' love lives are also intriguing!
Among the characters, there's actually a love triangle! The second season of the anime, in particular, had a lot of romantic elements and was packed with highlights. The love triangle is one-sided: Banzai → Tokishou → Kaishin. Tokishou falls in love with Kaishin fairly early on, but Banzai, after a series of misunderstandings, somehow ends up falling for Tokishou instead.
It all started with a misunderstanding on Tokibun's part
At first, Banzai didn't have any particular feelings for Tokibun, but it was Tokibun who started it all. Through a series of unexpected events, Tokibun realized that Tokibun had feelings for either Kaishin or Banzai. So, quite selfishly, he decided that Tokibun liked Banzai, for the simple and clear reason that if he were a woman, he would choose Banzai. Then, for some reason, Banzai unfortunately ended up getting punched by Tokibun. Another incident occurred when Banzai accidentally ended up in Tokibyou's room while visiting Tokibyou's house and ended up looking up her skirt! Naturally, Tokibyou was left feeling terrible. Tokibyou apologized, but Tokibyou wasn't good at cooking, so the cookies he made were terrible... Despite all this misfortune, Banzai somehow became aware of Tokibyou and began to develop feelings for him.
