The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic is a Winter anime series airing starting in January 2024. It's based on a light novel and comic book adaptation by the author Narou! While the premise itself is a classic isekai summoning story, the story of a seemingly ordinary protagonist who transforms into an overwhelmingly muscle-brained, invincible character is comical, refreshing, easy to understand, and entertaining. Today, we'd like to introduce the characters of The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic!

Character #1: Usato (Usato Ken)

Usato

A second-year high school student is summoned to another world along with student council president Suzune Inugami (Suzune) and vice student council president Kazuki Ryusen (Kazuki). He is summoned by the important figures of the Ringle Kingdom, which is under threat from the Demon King's army, but only Suzune and Kazuki have the qualities to be heroes, and Usato is an ordinary person who is completely caught up in the situation when he is summoned. However, due to his rare talent for healing magic, he is noticed by Rose of the National Lifesaving Corps and is almost forcibly forced to join the corps. The training there is extremely harsh, but his competitive spirit and mental strength that allows him to adapt to his environment means he passes the rigorous training and transforms into a muscle-brained healer who solves problems with physical attacks when the time comes.

Character #2: Suzune (Inugami Suzune)

Suzune

The beautiful student council president at Usato's school, a perfect superhuman. However, she's a little different from the perfect superhuman everyone imagines. She has a playful personality, a deep knowledge of anime and games, and surprisingly adapts to being summoned to another world, even shining a lightning at the cliche of another world. A magical aptitude test reveals that she has the lightning element, and she will face the Demon King's army alongside Kazuki as a hero.

Character #3: Kazuki (Ryusen Ikki)

Kazuki

Kazuki is a handsome classmate of Usato and serves as the vice student council president. He has a sincere, earnest, and kind personality, and a magical aptitude test revealed that he has the light attribute. Due to his large amount of magical power and his rare light attribute, he and Suzune become widely known as heroes. However, Kazuki has no knowledge of other-worldly summoning and still has attachments to his original world. He also has completely normal sensibilities, such as whining out of fear when he first enters the battlefield.

Character #4: Rose

Rose

She serves as the leader of the Ringle Kingdom's rescue squad. The rescue squad she leads has saved many lives on the battlefield, and it's said that without them, the Demon King's army would not have been victorious in the past. She's actually the kingdom's strongest person, and like Usato, she possesses the ability to use healing magic. While healing magic is considered unsuitable for combat, she is a muscle-brained healer who uses her superhuman physical abilities, gained through rigorous training that involves forcibly treating injuries and fatigue. Her strict personality and overwhelming strength make her a feared figure both at home and abroad.

Character #5: Blue Grizzly

Blue Grizzly

A juvenile Blue Grizzly, the apex predator of the dangerous forest known as "The Darkness of Ringle" and "The Den of Fierce Beasts" in the Ringle Kingdom. After his parents were killed by a giant snake monster, he joined forces with Usato and was later brought from outside the forest to become a member of the rescue team. The sight of Usato running with Blue Grizzly on his back during training became a familiar sight to the townsfolk. Apparently, he's a repulsive presence in other countries.

Character #6: The Black Knight (Ferm)

Ferm

He is one of the most powerful members of the Demon King's army, and is nicknamed the Black Knight due to his magical black armor. His powerful ability, the Reverse ability, allows him to deflect any damage he receives back to the exact spot, nullifying any attack and returning any damage he receives to the same spot in equal measure. This powerful ability makes him invincible, even to surprise attacks and blinding attacks. Normally, there is no way to counter her, and she killed Kazuki and Suzune, leading the Demon King's army to victory. However, her physical attacks, enchanted with healing magic that heals the target while only inflicting pain and impact, cannot be neutralized, making Usato and Rose her only natural enemies. After being defeated by Usato, she was captured by the Kingdom Army, her magic was sealed, and she was forced to join the Lifesaving Corps. Inside, she is a weak girl.

Character #7: Amako

Amako

A beast girl who showed Usato a vision of Kazuki and Suzune being defeated by the Black Knight. She has the ability to predict the future, and by showing it to Usato, she successfully averted the defeat of the kingdom's army. Known as the Princess of Time, her goal was to find someone who could save her sick mother and bring her back to her.

Character #8: Gladys

Gladys

Principal of the Magic Academy. A gentle-spoken woman, she questions the discriminatory culture at the academy and believes it must be changed. She is also open to cooperation from the Ringle Kingdom, but the reason they were unable to form a cooperative relationship until then was due to the city's general consensus of fearing the powerful presence of the Demon King.

Character #9: Nac

Nac

A student at the Magic Academy, Nac shares the same talent for healing magic as Usato. In the magical city of Rukvis, discrimination based on magical power and lineage is rampant, and as a healing magician, Nac suffers severe discrimination. However, after meeting Usato, he confronts Mina, the student who was the ringleader of his bullying, and undergoes Spartan training under Rose's tutelage. In fact, he has experienced discrimination not only from the students at the academy but also from his own parents, and with no one on his side, he has come to the academy as a form of escape.

Character 10: Mina Liasia

Mina

A student at the Magic Academy, Mina is the ringleader of Nac's bullying. She's undoubtedly a talented individual, possessing a rich family background, ample magical power, and an excellent magical system. In fact, she and Nac were childhood friends, and they were very close. When she lost contact with him, she enrolled in the Magic Academy out of genuine concern for him. However, Nac himself suffered severe discrimination and made no effort to change his situation, leading to his constant life of running away, which frustrated her and led her to bully him.

Character #11: Arc

Aruku

A guard soldier who accompanied Usato and his friends when they were dispatched to various countries. He is knowledgeable about world affairs and the characteristics of each country, and while he serves as Usato and his friends' guide, he also has high combat abilities and is a skilled swordsman who combines fire magic and swordsmanship. During the turmoil in Iava Village, he was captured and controlled by a necromancer.

Character #12: Nea

Ria

A village girl living in Iava Village. She laments the current situation, tormented by the zombies that have appeared in the village and the necromancer who has taken up residence on the outskirts. However, she is in fact the necromancer who has taken up residence in the village, a rare half-vampire, half-necromancer. Since her parents were defeated, she has lived a lonely life, easing her boredom and loneliness by blending in with the village girls. However, she shows a strong attachment and interest in Usato, an unknown being summoned from another world, and attempts to capture Usato and have him become her companion. Although he wields advanced magic, he has some weaknesses and does not attempt to harm the villagers, so he is not as evil as one might expect. After the incident, he is forced to accompany Usato as his familiar.

Character 13: Lucas Urd Samariar

Lucas

King of the prayerful country of Samariar. While not a villain, he has a treacherous personality. He is aware that he is not worthy of the unconditional love of the people, and is a capable man who has run his country by cutting out various things and achieving results. He has excellent information-gathering skills and is well-acquainted with Usato and his friends' positions and circumstances. Having lost his wife, Eliza, he dotes on his daughter, Eva.

Character 14: Eva Urd Samariar

Eva

Lucas' daughter, who lives in confinement in the royal castle of Samariar. A pure and innocent princess, she is detached from the world. The reason for her lifestyle is a curse placed on the royal family, which means she never knows when her life will end.
