"The Sage Who Calls Himself the Sage's Disciple" is an isekai reincarnation story originally published on the novel submission website "Let's Become a Novelist." The story follows the player, Kan Sakimori, who is reincarnated into the world of the VRMMO game "Arc Earth Online" and, despite being an old wise man, is transformed into a beautiful young woman. He embarks on an adventure in the game world as a young girl named Mira. The anime adaptation is scheduled to air in January 2022, garnering much attention. This time, we'll be introducing the top 5 most popular characters!
5th Place: Solomon
Ranked fifth is Solomon. He is the king of the in-game kingdom, the Kingdom of Arkite, but was originally a game player like Milla and has been in the game world for much longer than Milla. He is friends with the sage Dunbalf, Milla's true identity, and perhaps felt a sense of affinity when he saw Milla, as he seemed to have realized that Milla was Dunbalf from the very beginning. He was extremely busy as king due to the long period of time he was unable to leave the game, but things seemed to have become a little easier since Milla arrived.
4th Place: Cait Sith
Ranked fourth is Cait Sith. A cat spirit, he is one of the spirits that Milla summons through summoning magic. He calls Milla "Commander." Due to his animal form, he can converse with other animals. He also carries a placard with him, which he uses to communicate. While his cute cat appearance gives him a strong mascot-like quality, he's also frequently summoned as a punchline.
3rd Place: Mariana
Ranked third is Mariana. A fairy girl, she serves as Mira's aide. Originally, she was Dunbalf's aide, but after Dunbalf's disappearance, she continued to look after the house for a long time. She cried when Mira told her that Dunbalf was safe. Feeling guilty for hiding her true identity, Mira revealed to her that she herself was Dunbalf. Mariana is even more moved after learning the truth, and is actively engaging with Mira in an effort to make up for the time they've missed.
2nd Place: Luminaria
Ranked second is Luminaria. Like Dunbalf, she is one of the Nine Sages and a magician, but like Mira and Solomon, she was originally a game player. She entered the game world before Mira, but her time in the game was shorter than Solomon's. A beautiful woman with fiery red hair and red eyes, she was originally a male player, just like Mira, and therefore speaks in masculine language with Mira and Solomon. Additionally, when hiding his true identity, he calls himself the "Blue Magician" and changes his hair color from red to blue.
1st Place: Milla
Ranked #1 is the protagonist, Milla. Originally, the player played a young man named Kan Sakimori. Sakimori played the character of a sensible, stern old man named Dumbledore in the VRMMO game "Arc Earth Online." One day, Sakimori falls asleep while creating a beautiful girl avatar using character creation. When she wakes up, she finds herself inside a game. She realizes that while her inner self is still the Dumbledore she played, her appearance has taken on the form of a beautiful girl she created. Shocked, she decides to hide her true identity by calling herself Dumbledore's apprentice, Mira (a play on her real name in English). Sakimori has strong feelings for Dumbledore, and even in her Mira form, she still uses "washi" (my name) as her first-person pronoun, and speaks in a somewhat old-fashioned way. However, she seems to be quite pleased with her beautiful appearance, saying things like, "I, cute."
