The more long-running a series is or the more seasons it has, the more characters it will feature. Anpanman is probably the most famous. It was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2009, with 1,768 registered species at the time. As of 2022, there will be around 900 species of Pokemon, so you can see how many there are. Even if Anpanman is special, there are other series with large numbers of characters. However, when it comes to works that have detailed character backgrounds, the number may be narrowed down. "The Rising of the Shield Hero" is now in its third season, but I don't think it has a large number of characters. However, I think it is a series in which the main characters are well-developed. New characters will appear in this new series, and I would like to introduce the cast members who bring these characters to life.
Nadia: Voiced by Ami Koshimizu
Nadia is played by Ami Koshimizu. A former member of the Wakakusa Theater Company, Koshimizu began her career as a child actor, aiming to become an actress. Her motivation for becoming a voice actress came from seeing a live performance by her senior, Mayumi Iizuka, and she was so moved by it that she decided to pursue a career as a voice actress. Her debut as a voice actress was in 2003, when she won the role of Nadja Applefield in an audition and made her debut as the lead in "Nadja of Tomorrow."
An Important Work
そうね、ナージャから20年。
この作品がなかったら今の自分はない。とても大切な作品。
今の私には再現出来ない16歳のあの時の精一杯、懐かしいわ。

For Koshimizu, "Nadja of Tomorrow," her debut and first leading role, is a special work. Koshimizu herself has even posted about it. Her career as a voice actress is also impressive. She has played a wide range of roles, from little girls to mature women. Her acting ability is incredible, from demure characters to strong-willed characters, and from tsundere characters to mature characters.
What recent works do you recommend, Koshimizu?
My most recent recommended work starring Koshimizu is "Edomae Elf." Koshimizu's portrayal of the elf shrine maiden "Elda" is a truly soothing character, and it was a joy to watch. In an interview, Koshimizu said, "I created the voice, but Elda is practically me." She said she felt a strong connection with the character's character and lines during the audition, and felt like she "really understood" the way Elda acted. Apparently, Elda's everyday voice is close to Koshimizu's natural voice, which may also be why she delivered such a well-crafted character.
Foul: Voiced by Kohei Amasaki
Foul is played by Kohei Amasaki. After graduating from the Japan Narration Acting Institute, he joined I'm Enterprise in 2013 and made his voice acting debut the following year. His first starring role was as Kirill Vrubel in "DOUBLE DECKER! Doug & Kirill," but his first on-air lead role was as Haruo Yaguchi in "High Score Girl." Since then, he has steadily built his career, winning the Best New Actor Award at the 13th Seiyuu Awards in 2019.
Anime Otaku
As Amasaki himself has said in interviews, he discovered anime in 2006 and was a deeply immersed anime otaku until he entered the industry in 2013. The show that sparked his interest was "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," and he's also been watching so many other anime, including "Lucky Star," "Ga-Rei: Zero," and "DARKER THAN BLACK: The Black Contractor," that he'd never stop talking about them.
Next up is his 20th anniversary!

This post by Amasaki celebrates his 10th anniversary as a voice actor this year. He expresses his gratitude to those around him and his fans, and his feelings as he approaches his 20th anniversary. I look forward to supporting Amasaki's future endeavors. First of all, I'm looking forward to seeing Foul in "The Rising of the Shield Hero."
Atra: Voiced by Kohara Konomi
Atra is voiced by Kohara Konomi. After graduating from high school, she enrolled at Human Academy, a comprehensive school. After two years as an actor, she joined Osawa Agency. While still with Osawa Agency, she also worked at MUJI for four years, making her a rather unusual career choice. Even after becoming a voice actress, she is said to be a frequent user of MUJI products.
Expanding her activities in many areas
She made her voice acting debut in 2014 and gained attention for her role as Kukuri in the 2017 remake of "Mahou Jin Guru Guru." She became close friends with her co-star, Shizuka Ishigami, and they also appeared together in "The Transfer Student Who Doesn't Know the Situation Pushes Forward," which aired this year. While Osawa Agency generally prohibits social media, Obara opened an Instagram account in 2017. In 2022, she started her own YouTube channel, "Obara Yoshimi," and began accepting memberships for her channel. Also in 2022, she released her first photo book, "Yumeiro Yumeji," expanding her horizons.
Sain: Voiced by Maria Naganawa
Sain is played by Maria Naganawa. Naganawa passed an audition for an affiliated company during her first year of the basic course at the Japan Narration Acting Institute's Nagoya branch, along with her promotion exam, and joined I'm Enterprises. She made her anime debut as Tiamiris Gre Fortose in "Shinryakusha no Rokujouma!?" Popular voice actress Kaede Hondo, who was a classmate of hers at school, said she felt a sense of crisis when she heard that a girl her age and classmate had passed the audition on the first try and signed with I'M.
The Elite of the Voice Acting World
Since her debut, Naganawa has continued to play major and numerous other characters, steadily building her career and expanding her field of activity. Naganawa's voice is known for its cuteness and unique character, often portraying young girls and young women. Her favorite voice actors are Ikue Otani and Rie Kugimiya, and her future goal is to play a mascot character.
