Second Princess Melty's First Appearance

Melty's first appearance comes after the Shield Hero resolves the issue of the dragon defeated by the Sword Hero rotting. It's during this time that Raphtalia is cursed, using the Curse Shield for the first time. Melty was there when Filo was discussing with the Shield Hero whether they should hunt wild Filolials. "I'd love to dream of a talking Filolial!" she said to Filo with a beaming smile. At the time, Melty had contacted the Shield Hero and his companions, hiding the fact that she was of royalty. Knowing her elegant clothing and the characteristics of Filolials, the Shield Hero told Filo to just play with her. It seems she needed connections with the wealthy on top of her work as a peddler.

The two quickly become friends after playing together from their first appearance. Filo asks Melty, who has become separated from her guards, to accompany her to Melromarc. The Shield Hero reluctantly agreed. Anyway, the two became great friends from the get-go. They raced, showed each other their treasures, and even slept naked in Filo's fur. Filo must have had a great time, as she was also her first friend. Filo was more excited than usual, and Melty was a strange girl who, despite being a noble, was thick-skinned and didn't mind sleeping outdoors at all.
Two People Who Shouldn't Play Together

The group arrives in town. After going to the Association separately from Melty, the Spear Hero, who always seems to bother them, appears. The Spear Hero, who recently joined the group, thinks Filo is a cute girl, and he continues to tease her, just like he did with Raphtalia. The first princess, Myne, jumps on the bandwagon and challenges her to a duel, and it looks like a new battle is about to begin. Or so you think, but then Melty appears. Melty intimidates Myne. That's right, despite being the second princess, Melty is first in line to the throne. Filo kicks the Spear Hero away, causing the duel to be called off, but afterwards Melty, whose real name is Melty Melromarc, and the Shield Hero have a conversation. The Shield Hero, who has been treated badly by the royal family up until now, doesn't believe what Melty says at all and forbids her from playing with Filo either.
Accompanying the Shield Hero Once Again

Amidst all this, the time comes when the Shield Hero and Melty once again accompany each other. It's when the Shield Hero is accused of assassinating the second princess. This is a plot by the Church of the Three Heroes. It was also a plot by her older sister, the First Princess, Myne, to kill Melty. "I'll help you, so follow me!" was what the Shield Hero said to her, so she ended up accompanying them. When she encountered the other heroes, Melty knew that if she was handed over to them, she would be assassinated. Her accompaniment to the Shield Hero continued until the end of the battle against the Pope of the Church of the Three Heroes, which marked the first time the Four Holy Heroes joined forces in battle. Along the way, Melty grew tired of being called the Second Princess, saying, "We're comrades who share the good times and the bad!" Her words, adorable, showed she didn't want to be left out.
The Journey Comes to an End

After the battle with the Church of the Three Heroes ends, Melty is no longer able to continue their journey with Filo. As the second princess, she must do things in the city that only she can do. And so, she temporarily bids farewell to Filo. It seems she has learned a lot this time, and in the future she aims to create a country where humans and demi-humans can live together without discrimination. It seems like Nishida and the two of them will be sleeping together every day until the Shield Hero and the others set out. They are such a close couple.

Melty witnesses the tragedy in other countries. Demi-humans are treated as slaves and subjected to violence in extremely harsh conditions. The Shield Hero speaks of this happening everywhere. She was probably deeply shocked by the words that even in her own country, relations between demi-humans and humans would not be good. She decided that when she became queen, she would create a country where demi-humans and humans could live together without discrimination. She also seemed to have grown as a human, and at the end, with a big smile on her face, she said to the hero, "Thank you for protecting me!" Seeing the second princess like that, the queen was probably relieved, and seemed to think that Melty was the one she could entrust with the country from now on.

Until Melty and the Queen appeared, the country's royal family (the bitches and scum) were clearly enemies, treating the Shield Hero like a very obvious enemy. However, with the arrival of these two, the relationship between the Shield Hero and the country gradually improves. At the request of the queen, the hero remains in the country and fulfills his duties. Perhaps we'll see a scene in the future where Melty becomes queen!
