The Rising of the Shield Hero is a popular work that has been scheduled for a two-season anime adaptation starting in January 2019. It originally became popular as a web novel, was made into a book, and a manga, and is finally getting its long-awaited anime adaptation. The story is a so-called reincarnation story, and the protagonist is summoned to this world with the mission of dealing with the waves that are plunging the world into chaos. Mirellia is the queen of the town to which the hero is summoned. In this article, we will introduce this queen.

Queen Mirellia officially appeared after the battle with the Church of the Three Heroes. Until then, Iwatani, the Shield Hero, had only seen her body double. Queen Mirellia, who appeared before him, was a wonderful queen who, unlike Acting King Orthocray and First Princess Myne, was truly committed to making the country a better place. She was extremely capable and, despite the fact that the battle with the Church of the Three Heroes had just ended, she was already maneuvering to ensure its demise, and she was also a strategist, as she had arranged for the Shield Hero to remain in the country in exchange for punishing Orthocray and Myne. She also seemed to have good relations with other countries. She even seemed to be manipulating everything behind the scenes, even the repercussions of the abolition of the Acting King and Myne's royal family.
What has Queen Mirellia been doing up until now?

Even if there was a proxy king, why was the queen, the official representative of the country, absent for such a long time? The answer lies in the summoning of the Four Holy Heroes. The order in which the heroes were summoned was originally decided at a meeting of each country. The agreement was that they would summon each hero one by one, using fragments of the holy relic, but the Church of the Three Heroes ignored the agreement with each country and arbitrarily summoned four heroes. It would not be surprising if this led to war. So the Queen traveled around the countries, conducting diplomacy to prevent war from breaking out. It appears that war was successfully averted. What a capable Queen!
What does Queen Mirellia think of the heroes?

So, what exactly does Queen Mirellia think of the heroes? Of course, they are on a mission to save the world from the waves, so they cannot be ignored, but it seems she has trouble dealing with anyone other than the Shield Hero. She probably trusts the Shield Hero and consults him on various matters. Although she has been cooperating with them in various ways to level up, it seems that her efforts have not had any effect on the three. This is worrying Mirellia. To make matters worse, the three heroes have fled the country... It seems that being a queen has a lot to deal with.
Queen Mirellia is a queen who speaks clearly when she needs to

Three heroes, Edaru, Spear, Sword, and Bow, have been pampered and treated like heroes. The four of them are discussing how to train these heroes. They gather to exchange information, but they are also at odds with each other. Things aren't progressing very well. Then the Queen says, "There is an opinion that most of the heroes, aside from Iwatani-sama, lack strength." Queen Mirellia then proceeds to talk about their incompetence, something that would be very difficult to say to the heroes, and smooths the discussion over. Is she a tactician, or the type who says what she wants to say clearly? Well, she does have a pleasant personality.
Queen Mirellia: A Queen Who Doesn't Want to Kill Her Own Family

The first thing Mirellia did upon returning to her country was to punish Orthoclay and Myne. She gave Myne a slave crest and forced her to confess that her past actions had been a lie. Then, as she had promised the Shield Hero, she decided to exact severe punishment on the two. The punishment was to be decided by the Shield Hero. Initially, the Shield Hero sentenced him to death. It may be a little abnormal for a university student to think it's okay to kill someone, but that's how cruelly he has been treated. However, Queen Mirellia didn't want to just kill him, she wanted a punishment that would make him think that death would have been better. In the end, she renamed him scum and bitch, and made him kneel down in front of the public. Despite what she said, and despite what she said, Queen Mirellia's true feelings were that she absolutely did not want to kill her own family.
Shadow and Queen Mirellia

Queen Mirellia sometimes used a double. The Shadow is an organization that handles everything from personal security to covert operations. However, while this Shadow is extremely admirable, it has a flaw: her endings. Because she always uses the "gojaru" (meaning "gojar") prefix, those close to her quickly recognize her as a fake. Her perfect disguise is ruined. However, this shadow's power seems immense. Even during the contest between Filo and the dragon, a letter from this shadow connected Myne's tyranny to the truth. It seems she's always nearby, keeping an eye on the heroes.
Queen Mirellia: A Final Word
For now, is Melty the likely successor to Queen Mirellia? Will she ever be succeeded? Will Acting King Ortoclay ever return to power? What will Myne's future hold? The royal family will undoubtedly continue to be involved in the story. I look forward to seeing what happens to them in the future.
