The second act of "Tsukimiti Shiki: The Journey Leads the Way to Another World" will begin airing in January 2024, and many characters appeared in the first act. This time, we'll be looking at who the "Strongest Characters" are! However, we'll be intentionally excluding Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto and the Goddesses from this ranking. This is a familiar theme, but we hope you'll use this as a reference before the second act airs and enjoy the anime.

6th Place: Shiki (Lich)

Shiki

In sixth place is Shiki, the third true servant. He was originally an undead, ex-human Lich. He possessed the forest demon Mondo, but when Makoto arrived in the forest demon village, he attempted to absorb him but was defeated instead. He subsequently made a contract with Makoto, but only managed to achieve the "Pact of Sustenance" at 0:10. He then put on 13 rings that absorbed Makoto's magical power, temporarily reducing his power, and finally was able to enter into a master-servant contract.

Becoming a servant boosts his abilities!

Shiki becomes a servant

Through his master-servant contract with Makoto, Shiki was given a new body. By absorbing the power of the 13 rings containing Makoto's magical power, his abilities dramatically increased. Furthermore, his abilities further improved when Makoto named him "Shiki." However, he is still considered inferior by Tomoe and Mio, and they call him a "padded servant" for his various tricks during the contract ceremony.

Is he actually ranked much higher?

Shiki

I ranked him 6th this time, but honestly, I don't know how strong Shiki is after becoming a servant. His abilities have improved significantly since he absorbed his true power and was given a name, so he may even be superior to Lancer and Sophia. I think this will become clear in Act 2.

5th Place: Lancer (Mitsurugi)

Lancer

Lancer, a high-ranking dragon nicknamed "Mitsurugi," takes fifth place. Though he's said to have been defeated by Sophia Bulga, he travels with Sophia and fights on the side of the demons. Sophia's greatsword is imbued with Lancer's power, and it's not yet clear how the two ended up working together.

One of the High-Ranked Dragons

Lancer fighting Makoto

He has an aptitude for water, and while he mainly uses magic-based attacks, he excels at water-based magic. However, when he fought Makoto and was hit by Makoto's Water Bride, he was surprised that Makoto had a higher aptitude for water, and was astonished that there was someone like him outside of Tomoe and Ruto. While he is lower in rank than Tomoe, he is one of the high-ranking dragons, and therefore possesses considerable power.

4th Place: Sofia Bulga

Sofia

In fourth place is Sofia Bulga, nicknamed the Dragon Slayer. She is said to be the strongest human adventurer, with an SSS rank of 920, making her the highest ranking human by a long way. She earned the nickname Dragon Slayer after defeating Lancer.

Is it true that she's the strongest human for no apparent reason?!

Sofia Swinging a Sword

Introducing Sophia in the first act, despite being a human who sided with the demons, Sophia attacks Makoto, who was sent to the battlefield by the Goddess's trickery, mistaking him for one of the Goddess' minions. With her first blow, she cut off two of Makoto's fingers, and together with Lancer, they cornered Makoto, but Makoto gave up on negotiation and unleashed his magical powers, leaving them helpless. However, her combat skills and attacks using Lancer's powerful greatsword were impressive. Even Makoto commented after the fight that she was a very skilled opponent.

The secret of Sophia's strength!

Sofia

Sofia has the ability to steal the power of dragons she defeats. This is why she has been able to defeat high-ranking dragons one after another. However, in the first act, it was unclear why she was working with Lancer, whom she is said to have defeated. Perhaps this will become clear in the second act. Finally, a slight spoiler: Sofia's ancestor is the highest-ranking dragon, "Manshoku no Ruto." His powers are beyond what one would expect from a human. However, it seems that because of this, Sofia was not treated as a human, and she intends to kill Ruto, the reason for this.

Second Place: Mio (Black Spider of Calamity)

Mio in the Shadow of the Black Spider

It's hard to say who is stronger, so I'll give second place to two. First up is Mio. Originally known as the Black Spider of Calamity, she was feared for her constant hunger and constant devouring of anything and everything. When she invaded the subspace, she came into combat with Makoto, and during that battle, she felt pleasure from Makoto's attacks, found Makoto's blood sweet, and continued to absorb Makoto's magical power, finally satisfying her hunger. After losing to Makoto in battle, the Black Spider became madly in love with him. Then, accepting Tomoe's suggestion, she performed the contract ceremony while Makoto was unconscious, becoming his servant.

Mio's Super Healing Ability

Recovering Mio

One of Mio's strengths is her healing ability. Even when she fought Makoto as the Black Spider, her leg regenerated immediately after being cut off. She was destroyed by a powerful blow from Makoto, but later resurrected. Even after becoming Makoto's servant and Mio, her powers remain intact, and she is able to use healing magic that Makoto cannot use.

Her abilities from when she was the Black Spider are still alive and well!

Mio uses dark magic

In addition to healing magic, Mio also uses dark magic. Although it's dark magic, it's a bit unique, allowing her to blend into the darkness and move. Furthermore, the threads imbued with dark magic possess various abilities, including absorption, analysis, and eavesdropping. And, although it might be better to describe it as absorption rather than annihilation, she also has the ability to prey on anything with dark magic.

Top Adventurer!

Mio taking her level test

Not only does she possess a variety of powerful special abilities, but her basic combat abilities are also naturally high. When she was tested for her level upon registering as an adventurer, she achieved a score of 1500, making her the highest of all adventurers. During her Black Spider days, she fought against Mirage, the Demon Generals, and Hibiki's hero party, and retreated after her appetite was somewhat satisfied. However, the only person she truly lost was Makoto, who was completely incapacitated. Since she was named Mio and Makoto and her abilities were improved, she has never seriously fought, so her true strength remains a mystery.

Second Place: Tomoe (High-Rank Dragon, Invincible Mirage)

Tomoe

Also ranked second alongside Mio is another servant, Tomoe. While she was still an Invincible Mirage, she fought Mio in the form of the Black Spider of Calamity, but the Black Spider lost interest and left, leaving the battle unresolved. There's no doubt she's just as strong as Mio, and her power as the legendary High-Rank Dragon "Invincible Mirage" is genuine. Tomoe was also Makoto's first companion, and the first servant she became after the contract ceremony. Like Mio, she cares deeply for Makoto and is willing to sacrifice herself for him. This is also the case with Mio and her companions, showing just how much they adore Makoto.

The Power of One of the Top Dragons

Mirage

As befits her nickname "The Invincible Mirage," her powers are among the top dragons, surpassing only the top dragon known as "The Man-Colored Ruto." Naturally, her basic abilities are also high, and her level was measured at 1320 when she registered as an adventurer (1340 when re-measured), lower than Mio. However, at this level, level does not necessarily equate to ability. Since Tomoe is also truly named, it remains to be seen how close her power is to the top-ranking Manshoku Ruto, or whether she may even be equal or superior.

Special Ability Using Mist

Subspace Tomoe

Her abilities utilize mist, allowing her to manipulate barriers and illusions. One of these abilities is the ability to directly peer into the memories of others and store them. She's also skilled at using her powers to expose her opponents' circumstances and corner them, or to use information to skillfully persuade them. The mirage city where Makoto and the others live is the result of Tomoe's subspace power. By performing the ritual of Makoto's contract, Makoto's consciousness intermingled with the subspace, transforming it. The power of this space, which even the Goddess cannot interfere with, is truly incredible.

Extra Edition

The Goddess and Makoto

Before the first place ranking, I'd like to introduce some characters that didn't make it onto the list. First up are the two heroes summoned alongside Makoto. Both of them only made an appearance at the very end of the final episode. Considering the timing of their appearances in the comic, it wouldn't have been out of the ordinary for them to appear in Act 1, but that's something to look forward to in Act 2. The other character is Lime Latte. While there are characters stronger than Lime, I'd like to introduce them with Act 2 in mind.

Hibiki Otonashi

Hibiki Otonashi

He's a hero summoned to the Kingdom of Limia by the goddess. In his original world, he was the student council president of Makoto's school, a perfect example of both academic and athletic excellence. His charisma and kindness give him great leadership and unifying power, making him more dangerous to the demons than the other hero. I'm looking forward to seeing how he interacts with Makoto and the others in Act 2.

Tomoki Iwahashi

Tomoki Iwahashi

He is a hero summoned to the Gritonia Empire by a goddess. In his original world, he was a 15-year-old third-year middle school student. He had the looks of a model and considerable talent, but he was a reclusive, middle schooler with a chunibyo syndrome who refused to do anything on his own. In the other world, his level is higher than Hibiki Otonashi, but he is looked down upon by the demons due to his difficult personality. He is being used as a tool by Princess Lili of Gritonia, but he is completely unaware of this.

Rime Latte

Rime Latte

Rime is the top level 201 adventurer in Zige, and after the Rembrandt incident, she becomes Tomoe's subordinate. We've chosen Rime this time because she frequently appears in Act 2 and beyond. As Tomoe's subordinate, she improves her skills through training. Then, a certain incident leads to a major turning point for Rime. Please watch Act 2 to find out.

1st Place: Young Master (Makoto Fukasumi)

真

First place goes to Young Master, by a long shot. Second place winners Tomoe and Mio end up with a contract of domination, so it's no surprise. He performed a contract ceremony with Tomoe and Mio shortly after being summoned to another world, and the fact that the second-place winners ended up with a contract of domination shows just how powerful he is. Now, let's examine the strength of Young Master, aka Makoto Fukasumi.

Is his original world a harsh place?!

真

First of all, one of his strengths is his basic physical abilities. Makoto's original world was a barren land where Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto's protection and blessings barely reached, and his magical powers and physical body were constantly under hypergravity. Having trained in that world, Makoto was freed from this burden in the Goddess's world, and thus developed a superhuman physique. Furthermore, since his parents were humans from another world, his inherited bloodline likely contributes to his vast magical powers.

Extraordinary Amount of Magical Power

True Magical Power Release

The source of Makoto's strength is his enormous magical power. At the time of his summoning, Tomoe and Mio were under a contract of domination, and when humans saw Makoto's flowing magical power, they saw him as if he were leading several demon lords. Furthermore, Makoto's archery practice, in which he concentrates and sends his consciousness to the target, then merges with the target and returns to normal, is the same as dying and reviving in the other world. In the other world, reviving can sometimes increase one's magical power, and as a result, by the first act, Makoto's magical power has reached goddess-level levels.

Ability Only Makoto Possesses

Makoto's Attack

And Makoto's unique strength is that he has been bestowed with the power of Tsukimiti. While there are others summoned as heroes, they all receive only the Goddess's divine protection. Conversely, Makoto was only granted the ability to understand non-human languages by the Goddess. As a result, the demons created magical tools to counter the heroes, but they had no effect on Makoto. With the power bestowed by Tsukimiti, Makoto can use numerous powers, utilizing the abilities of the world, making him unique in the other world.

Makoto will become even stronger.

Roaring Makoto

This time, I ranked Young Master Makoto first because he possesses physical abilities not found in otherworldly beings, immense magical power, and can use these abilities to harness the unique power of Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto. When he fought Sophia and Lancer, his combat skills were no match for them, but he overpowered them with his basic abilities. And, let's not forget, Makoto's experience in archery, judo, and iaido in his original world is a major factor in helping him. Since he boasts such strength based solely on his basic abilities, he'll likely become even stronger with more experience and training.

Summary of the Strongest Character Rankings

Logo

This time, we've ranked the strongest characters who appeared in Act 1, excluding Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto and the Goddesses. Anyone who's seen Act 1 will agree on the #1 ranking. New characters will also appear in Act 2. The two heroes summoned along with Makoto and the highest-ranking dragon, Ruto, may also make an appearance. I'm really looking forward to seeing what powerful characters will appear in Act 2. Thank you for reading to the end.
