"The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Nation Out of Debt" is a Winter anime series airing starting in January 2022. Based on a light novel, the story follows a genius prince from a tiny, fragile nation. His actions and international circumstances ultimately lead him to fame, prosperity, and hardship, despite his own wishes. We'd like to introduce you to Toru Toba, the author of "The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Nation Out of Debt," and his illustrator, Farmaro!

About Toru Toba, the author of "The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Nation Out of Debt"

Toru Toba is a light novel author whose works are published by GA Bunko. He discovered the light novel industry in middle school and began submitting his works in high school. Despite repeated rejections, he continued to submit his work, winning the First Half Encouragement Award at the first GA Bunko Grand Prize in 2008 for his work "Orcinus." He then made his debut with "Orcinus: Inakuchi Migen's Mediation Life," a work based on the original "Orcinus" title.

About his representative work, "The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Nation from a Debt ~Yes, Let's Sell the Country~"

The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Nation from a Debt, Volume 1

Published by GA Bunko on May 12, 2018, this work has been serialized to 10 volumes to date, making it the author's longest and most-lengthy serialized work. As of February 2020, the series has sold over 250,000 copies. It has also been adapted into a comic book as part of a media mix project, serialized on Manga UP! since October 2019, with four volumes published to date.

Participating in a Management Simulation Play Report

Perhaps due to his work on other titles that focus on national management, Toba participated as a monitor for "Tropico 6 Nintendo Switch Edition" in a 4Gamers project. Toba had apparently never played this type of game before, and he played with a 4Gamers advisor. As a beginner, he used a proper playstyle, but realized that it would quickly lead to a deadlock. With the advice of a corrupt 4Gamers political advisor, he decided to utilize election fraud and assassinations to progress through the game. Sacrificing the people is meaningless if you can't win the election. The people exist for politics! This game lets you become a shitty dictator, but the residents are also trash, so if you pamper them, they'll become arrogant, making it an unpleasantly realistic game.

About Illustrator Farmaro

Defective Nation

Illustrator Farmaro primarily works as a light novel illustrator. According to his pixiv profile, he is a popular male illustrator who has illustrated numerous light novels. In addition to "The Genius Prince's Guide to Reviving a Defective Nation: Let's Sell the Country," his other works include "Siegfried, My Love" (Dengeki Bunko), "The Misunderstood Heroic Tale of a Low-Class Lord" (Overlap Bunko), and "How to Operate a Dungeon for Sure Victory" (Monster Bunko).

Designer for Vtuber Misono Yui

I'm in charge of the design for Vtuber Misono Yui, who is affiliated with Irodori Geino Yubinsha, a company operated by Bushiroad. Misono Yui appears to stream ASMR and other content. She also streamed for Doki Doki Literature Club Plus. Doki Doki Literature Club is a deeply moving work, so I recommend playing it without a second thought.

Falmaro is a fan of FGO and Madoka Magica

Falmaro also posts illustrations on pixiv and Twitter, with a large number of FGO and Madoka Magica illustrations. Falmaro seems to be a big fan of FGO and Madoka Magica. He especially likes Mysterious Heroine X, so she seems to be his favorite.

Illustrator of Mizuki Rui for Magia Record!!

I'm the illustrator for Mizuki Rui, a character from the social game "Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story," distributed by f4samurai. He posts a lot on pixiv, and I'm not sure if his love of the work led to the job, but perhaps his wish has come true.

He also loves horses!?

Recently, he's been retweeting a lot of Uma Musume Pretty Derby-related content. He narrowly lost the Leo Cup and Virgo Cup, but apparently he won the previous ones... I think he's a serious player. He's also posted illustrations of Teio and Duska. Horses these days are just too strong.
