The Fable is a work currently being serialized in Weekly Young Magazine. The story is about a man who is the strongest assassin and has such skills that he has even created an urban legend called Fable (fable). He is ordered by his boss to "live as an ordinary person for one year" because he has been too conspicuous and wants to acquire the sense of an ordinary person. Of course, killing and anything out of the ordinary is not allowed! A man who has lived in the underworld and is like a 5-year-old except for killing, does his best to challenge being an ordinary person in this unique comedy about the underworld! It has been made into a live-action movie, and a second live-action movie has recently been decided! The first part of the main story has finished, and the second part is scheduled to be serialized. I would like to introduce the plot of The Fable with spoilers!
Plot① That man, Fable!
Once upon a time, there was a genius and strongest assassin. His artistic and professional killing was enough to create an urban legend called Fable (fable). The assassin, Fable, who became so conspicuous that he became a living urban legend, and his female partner received a certain order from the "boss" of the organization, who was also his superior and foster parent. The order was to "live as ordinary people for about a year."
365 Days Where You Must Not Kill
The Fable killed 71 people in six years and became too conspicuous. So he went undercover for a year to become a normal citizen and blend into normal society. However, as a normal citizen, killing was a no-no! And obviously, as a professional assassin, standing out too much was also a no-no! If a thug picked a fight with him, his body would move on its own and knock him out within six seconds, but that wasn't allowed either! Other than his killing techniques, he was on the level of a five-year-old, and for a man who didn't have the sensibilities of a normal person, this was even more difficult than killing.
Synopsis 2: The Sato siblings arrive in Taihei City, Osaka Prefecture
The Fables and their female partner are given the false names and family register of Sato Akira and Sato Yoko, and move to Taihei City, Osaka City, as siblings. They begin their new life in a house provided by the gang "Makuro-gumi," an old acquaintance of the boss. However, Ebiwara Takeshi, the young boss of the Makuro-gumi, is not happy about accepting the two.
The Sato siblings, professionally disguised as ordinary people
As part of his life as an ordinary person, Akira kept a pet, lost to a passing thug (actually sent by the young men of the gang) like an ordinary person, practiced ordinary reactions, and did his best to be a little off. Meanwhile, he was called by the young boss Ebihara and made to fight a vicious wrestler, but he killed him instantly. However, he did not deliver the final blow, and Ebihara understood that he would do the job but would not kill if possible, so Ebihara accepted him, and a new life began. Yoko played around with the men who hit on her by getting them drunk and making them expose their ugly and pathetic behavior.
Synopsis 3: Sato Akira gets a job
Ordinary people work hard. So Akira decides to look for a job, but he is rejected at every interview because he has no common sense and no consideration for others. At that time, he was beaten up by some thugs (and made them beat him up), and through an introduction from Shimizu Misaki, he was hired as a delivery and errand boy at a small design company called "Octopus". However, at that time, Kojima, a member of the Makuro group who had been in prison, returns to the group.
Dangerous Man, Kojima
After being released from prison, Kojima was an extremely radical man, so dangerous that he kicked out his fellow gang members. Even so, Ebihara, who was like a big brother to him, could have kept an eye on him, but Ebihara collapsed from a myocardial infarction and was hospitalized. Although Ebihara tried to stop him, Kojima planned to start a delivery health service as a new way to make money, and he ended up setting his sights on Misaki as the woman to use for the job.
Synopsis 4: Yakuza-specific pursuit
Kojima uses Yakuza tactics to try to drive Misaki into becoming a call girl, but Ebihara, who has a bad feeling about this, asks Akira to investigate Kojima. Akira finds out that Kojima is planning a call girl and has rejected someone, and reports to Ebihara. Kojima ends up getting involved in the business of Sunagawa, a member of the gang, and worries that he will be killed if he continues, so he asks Akira for help. Akira, who lives as an ordinary person, tries to refuse, but is moved by Ebihara's sincerity and cooperates.
Hello, Brother Fable
After learning that Misaki has been framed by Kojima's scheme, Akira sneaks into the meeting place between Kojima and Sunagawa. Akira is tasked with the troublesome mission of not revealing his true identity to Misaki and capturing Kojima alive. With his overwhelming strength, Akira easily subdues the assassins hired by Sunagawa, quickly stuffs Kojima into a suitcase and leaves the scene.
At the same time, the boss appears before Ebihara, warns him for getting Aki involved, and tells him why he is letting Aki live as an ordinary person before disappearing.
A Case to Settle
Kojima is dragged out in front of Ebihara, who discovers that he has erectile dysfunction and that it has encouraged his violent tendencies. Kojima is forced to settle things by Ebihara, and the matter is closed for the time being. However, when the meeting was interrupted and Kojima was taken away, Sunagawa, a senior member of the Fable, begins to investigate.
Synopsis 5: The Brother Who Secludes Himself in the Mountains
After that, Akira says he wants to seclude himself in the mountains so he can get better, and they head out for a three-day, two-night trip. Kuro of the Makakuro Group, who learned the secret of Akira's strength and wanted to get closer to Akira, says he wants to accompany him. In the mountains, Kuro quickly becomes exhausted as he walks along a pathless road, but Akira remains calm and continues to survive. After encountering a bear and trying to get food, Kuro realizes how messed up and far removed Akira is from his past.
The Great Evil Moves
Alongside that, a young man is buried alive in the mountains. Utsubo, a conman who targets NEET youth and their concerned parents, is a dangerous man who demands money from the wealthy parents to rehabilitate the NEETs, and then kills them in the mountains, pretending that they are going on a training trip overseas. And this man, Utsubo. It seems that he has some kind of connection with Akira...
Synopsis ⑥ Kainuma-kun becomes the target
The evil hand of Utsubo creeps up on Kainuma-kun, an employee of Octopus and Misaki's stalker. Kainuma-kun's stalking escalated and he was trying to rape Misaki, so it was his own fault. And when Akira saw a girl with a bad leg doing rehabilitation in the park, he realized that she was the girl he had seen on a job he had failed to complete in a past assassination job. Her name was Sawa Hinako.
The Fable and Kabira
Akira learns that Kabira, a man he let slip away during an Octopus delivery, is now calling himself Utsubo. The target, Kainuma-kun, is easily found out to have been taking secret photos of Misaki's house, and is threatened, exposed to his parents, and 60 million yen is taken from him. Kainuma-kun becomes desperate and holds a grudge against Misaki, planning to kill her, but is stopped by Akira, who is sensitive to murderous intent. After that, Kainuma-kun escapes and is kidnapped by Suzuki, a hitman hired by Utsubo.
Suzuki and Yoko
When Suzuki kidnapped Kainuma-kun, Akira saw his face and figure, so he had to eliminate Akira. Suzuki breaks into Akira's house and confronts Yoko, who is there. Suzuki learns that Akira and Yoko's address is a property of the Makuro Group, and is certain that the two are the Fable. Suzuki tries to extract information from Yoko by pointing a gun at her, but Yoko is much stronger than Suzuki expected, and is knocked out and captured in 6 seconds.
Synopsis 7: Goodbye Kainuma-kun
When Akira returns, Suzuki is sitting tied up. Akira demands that Suzuki return Kainuma-kun alive, but Kainuma-kun has escaped in the mountains and fallen to his death from a cliff. In the end, Kainuma-kun cannot be saved, and Akira not only releases Suzuki from his restraints and releases him, but also invites him to dinner, but Suzuki tries to go home. On the way out, Suzuki asks if he's going to eliminate him, but he is sure that Suzuki doesn't feel threatened enough to be wary of him, and that Suzuki, being a professional, wouldn't talk so much.
Utsuho and Suzuki's Plan
After reuniting with Utsuho, Suzuki tells him the whole story. He realizes that the Sato siblings are seriously strong, and why they approached Hinako. Utsuho, knowing that Fable has found out his true identity and that his brother has been decapitated, decides to join forces with Suzuki to fight against Fable, for the sake of his pride as a professional that has been blown away.
Synopsis 8: The fight between Fable and Utsubo
Utsubo and Suzuki use a double or triple strategy to fight Akira, but the first of them is to call him to a room in an apartment and detonate a remote-controlled grenade, but Akira avoids the explosion by jumping off the building at the moment of the explosion and instantly jumping down to the floor two floors below, avoiding it unharmed. Suzuki, who was shown absurdity that went far beyond his imagination, moves on to his next plan. He was deliberately trying to lure out the Sato siblings and set a trap.
Yoko is Captured
Yoko, who arrived first, confronts Suzuki, but Suzuki takes advantage of her inexperience and captures her. Utsubo's plan was to lie to Hinako and tell her that Sato was the murderer of her parents, and have Hinako shoot him. However, Hinako knew that Utsubo was the real murderer, since only the murderer could know. Hinako fires at Utsubo, but is blocked by his bulletproof vest. Hinako musters her strength to stand up, but at that moment she steps on a landmine, the last trap set by Utsubo and his men.
Brother Appears
If Hinako fires at Utsubo in this state, she will fall down due to the recoil and the landmine will be activated. Suzuki stops Hinako, but Hinako fires her gun and falls down due to Utsubo's provocation. However, Akira appears at that moment and supports her, saving her. Suzuki and Utsuho try to shoot Akira at the same time, but Utsuho refuses and tries to blow up Hinako with a grenade, but Akira easily stops him. Suzuki admits defeat and cooperates with Akira to save Hinako.
Synopsis 9: The man who was prepared
Utsuho uses the shovel part of the excavator to suppress the blast, and Akira and his friends safely rescue Hinako. Utsuho admits defeat and throws a grenade with the pin still in it, and is shot by Suzuki and dies. It was an action that led to him being shot. Suzuki describes Utsubo as "always prepared for his own end," and ends his life as evil.

It was the organization's decision, having set their sights on Yoko's abilities.
