Character #1: Fukuzawa Saku
She's beautiful, productive, and a homely woman who makes elaborate bento lunches every day. Even when her boss relentlessly pesters her with alcohol, she still shows up to work the next day with a calm face. That's what those around her think, but in reality, she's a useless office lady with zero ability to live independently, mostly supported by her pet cat, Yukichi. She makes a mess of her room if left alone for a bit, can't even properly cook rice with a raw egg on top, and she's not particularly good at drinking; it's just that Yukichi takes perfect care of her so there's no leftovers the next day. Although she's considered a capable woman by most people at work, no one knows her true nature (though a few doubt her).
She Became a Capable Woman After Picking Up Yukichi
Before picking up Yukichi, she worked at a stingy company, barely ate a proper meal, and would sleep in the entryway after coming home. Her body and mind were exhausted and she was on the verge of death. However, once Yukichi became a capable cat, she received perfect support. As a child, she didn't achieve outstanding results in her various extracurricular activities, but she quickly achieved decent results. She seemed to have the talent to be a jack of all trades, master of none. However, perhaps due to her sloppy personal life and lack of time to spare, she was unable to fully utilize her abilities. However, after accepting Yukichi's support, she was able to demonstrate her abilities to the point that she was relied upon at work.
Character #2: Yukichi
Yukichi is a black cat who was originally Yukichi Fukuzawa's pet cat, but before we knew it, he had grown enormous, understood human language, and become a perfectly capable cat who can clean, do laundry, cook, sew, and even do DIY projects. Since his owner is incredibly messy in her personal life, Yukichi not only handles various household chores but also provides her with her daily meals. He often clicks his tongue and swears at his messy owner. He gathers his cooking knowledge from television, and is a huge fan of the idol group "UMYU-Sea," which originated from a children's cooking show.
But She Started Out As a Kitten
When she was a kitten, Yuri was picked up by Korai on a snowy day and became his pet. However, she was brought to a house full of garbage, where her owner was completely indifferent to her own affairs. Realizing that she and her owner would both suffer if things continued as they were, she began taking out the trash and cleaning herself, and began making lunch for Korai, transforming into a capable cat.
Character #3: Yuri Shibasaki
A cool and capable junior employee who works at the same company as Korai. After being sexually harassed during a job hunt, Kouki coolly helped her out, leading her to join the company. Even after joining the company, she continues to respect Kouki for her ability to do anything, but she is unaware of her true nature. She is cousins with Rio Nishina, a student who works at a supermarket. Apparently, she keeps a cat at her parents' house.
Character #4: Kaoru Orizuka
Kouki's boss and department manager, 32 years old. Based on her experiences of seeing Kouki as a stressed new employee, getting drunk and throwing up, and then being sent to a messy room, she suspects that the reality of Kouki's high reputation is different from what others think. She is the person in the company who is closest to the truth. Apparently, male employees often ask her to introduce them to Kouki.
Character #5: Yume
Kaoru Orizuka's niece, 3 years old. She met Yukira after being invited privately by Kaoru Oritsuka (actually, she was called to force a babysitter for his niece, Yume), and is a huge fan of the idol group "UMYU-Sea," formed on an Educational TV program. She also became acquainted with Yukira during a live event at an aquarium (Yukira is also a huge UMYU-Sea fan).
Character #6: Rio Nishina
An employee at a supermarket frequented by Yukira. Because she works so many shifts, people mistake her for a part-time worker, but in reality, she's a student who also plays in a band. At first, Yukichi thought of him as a weirdo in a mascot costume, but he and Yukichi rescued him from a persistent ex-boyfriend and became acquainted. In fact, Yukichi's private life is just as messy as his former self, and his room is a mess. Yukichi's coworker, Yuri Shibasaki, is his cousin.
Character #7: The Store Manager
The manager of the supermarket Yukichi frequents. He seems to love cats, and asks for handshakes and wants them to work there. He even puts "Cats Allowed!" in the part-time job listings and lets them try samples of his food. Apparently, sales increase on the days Yukichi visits.
Character #8: Ooya
Ooya lives in the apartment where Kouki lives. He's a cranky old man who hates cats, and he often gets into fights with Yukichi, who comes to throw out his trash at the dump. Yukichi thinks he's a shitty old man, but he also shows his caring side by teaching him how to sort his trash despite his harsh words, washing Yukichi with shampoo (forcefully), and giving him advice despite his complaints. He even makes Yukichi an apron himself. He's a tsundere.
Character #9: Kouki's Mother
Kouki Fukuzawa's mother. A violinist, she currently teaches children, but apparently occasionally performs in concerts. She's an avid cat lover. Knowing that Kouki's parents, despite being professionals, struggled as a child to achieve outstanding results in any field, she struggled, not knowing how to approach them.
Character #10: Kouki's Father
Kouki Fukuzawa's father. He was a professional shogi player, but is now almost retired and teaches children. He has a kind and gentle personality. He mistook the Yukichi card he brought home to his parents' house for a bear.
