Character #1: Wakana Gojo
The protagonist of this work. A first-year high school student, she stands over 180cm tall, but is not assertive and has difficulty interacting with others. Her grandfather was a "Toushi" (head craftsman) who made Hina dolls, and as a result, she enjoys making Hina dolls and sewing as hobbies. However, a childhood friend completely rejected her hobbies, leaving her traumatized. She strongly resists letting others know about her hobbies, which has influenced her to have difficulty interacting with others.
What's Gojo Niina's Personality?
She has a very earnest and kind personality, but she's so kind that she has trouble refusing requests from others. She also has a tendency to be a perfectionist, which can sometimes lead to overdoing things. In order to perfect her Kitagawa Marin cosplay, she even reads adult games, comics for women, and anime for girls, even if they clearly have no interest in them. However, she also possesses a purity that allows her to be moved and find most works interesting. She's so naive that she sometimes blurts out things that are difficult to say.
Character #2: Kitagawa Marin
The heroine of this work. A high school freshman and classmate of Gojo Niina. A standout gyaru and central character in her class. She's the most outgoing of outgoing people. She's also a popular reader model, so popular she's even asked to become an exclusive model. Gojo Niina thought she had no connection with her. However, Marin is a hardcore otaku who even plays adult games. She also enjoys cosplay as a hobby, but she's not ashamed of it and hates people who dismiss the things others like. When she accidentally learns about Niina's hobbies and family business, she doesn't reject them, instead praising them, which leads to a relationship between them. Although she enjoys cosplay, she's not very good at things that require dexterity, like making costumes, and Niina criticizes the cosplay costumes she works so hard to create.
What's Kitagawa Marin like?
A cheerful and confident gal. She has a steely mentality that allows her to proudly say she loves what she likes, and she has extraordinary drive to act immediately when she thinks of something. However, she can also be a bit impulsive, and for better or worse, she doesn't think things through. She rents a horror movie thinking it'll be okay, but ends up being so scared she can't sleep. As she interacts with Niina through cosplay, she begins to develop feelings for her, but doesn't seem particularly opposed to exposing her underwear for cosplay.
Character #3: Grandpa
Gojo Niina's grandfather, a skilled Hina doll craftsman. He runs the "Gojo Doll Shop" in Iwatsuki. He is also Niina's foster parent and mentor. He vaguely noticed that Niina had no friends and was worried about her. However, after getting to know Umi, despite some misunderstandings (such as the questionable games she played to gather cosplay information and buying women's stockings), he became kind and sensible, suggesting that cosplay costumes are a positive thing and encouraging Umi, who has an unbalanced diet, to eat at their place.
Character #4: Inui Sajuna
The true identity of "Juju," the cosplayer whom Marin reveres as a divine cosplayer. After seeing Marin's cosplay, she tracked down the address of Gojo Niina, the costume designer, and came to order a costume. She's petite and primarily cosplays characters from anime aimed at girls and magical girl anime. She's assertive and fearless, but she's not a fan of horror. At first, Marin thought she was the type of person she hated the most because she disregarded the original work, but she regrets this when she discovers that she's actually the type who values the original work more than she thought.
Character #5: Inui Shinju
Sasuka's younger sister, a second-year junior high school student. However, she is 178cm tall and has unusually large breasts for a junior high school student. Physically, she is the complete opposite of Sasuka, but her personality is shy and reserved. She is very shy and tends to hide behind her sister. Shinju is the photographer who photographs her sister's cosplay, and it is he who posts Sasuka's photos online. Due to her personality and lack of confidence, she believes she cannot cosplay, but she ends up cosplaying alongside Niina.
Character #6: Umi's Father
Kitagawa Umi's father. Umi lives in a single-parent household, and her father is currently working away from home. He seems to be in charge of important work, and he feels sorry for his daughter, only being able to come home around Obon and New Year's. However, he loves her deeply, as seen in his ability to instantly tell when she hasn't done her homework. Her lax personality, which tends to put off unpleasant tasks, is similar to his own, and her fate is pretty predictable.
Character #7: Himeno Amane
A cosplayer who Niina and Umi met at an aquarium cosplay event. He cosplays as a character from Space Idol Cosmo Lovers, surprising Umi with the high quality of his cosplay. However, he's actually a man, using drag makeup. At 20 years old, he's older than Niina and Umi, and he often gives them advice on cosplay. Originally lacking in self-confidence, he gained confidence after his sister recommended he start wearing makeup. However, his then-girlfriend told him he looked gross and told him to throw away all his costumes, which led to him dumping her.
