Steins;Gate is an anime based on a video game, but its popularity has skyrocketed, making it a hot topic and ranking highly on many anime sites. It's quickly becoming one of the most representative anime of the 2010s! The appeal of Steins;Gate (hereafter referred to as Steins;Gate) lies in the way it is set in a worldview reminiscent of foreign science fiction films, with time travel as one of its themes, and how it suddenly shifts from a bright atmosphere in the first half to a dark one in the second half. Here, we'll be sharing some spoilers about the charm of Amane Suzuha, one of the most important characters in Steins;Gate!
Amane Suzuha is a bright and open-minded person!
Early on in the story, Suzuha Amane begins working part-time in the apartment below protagonist Rintaro Okabe's. Suzuha exudes a somewhat mysterious presence from the start, and her significant appearance gives the impression that she will become a key player from the middle of the story onwards. Even a single conversation with Rintaro leaves you wondering which of her future interactions will be foreshadowed... She's a memorable character with many deep, in-depth moments.
Suzuha has a bright and open personality. In some ways, he's the most sensible character out of the lab members, who are all unique individuals, but he also seems a bit out of touch with the world, having never used a cell phone and only recently started riding a bicycle. He's generally able to get along with anyone and is well-liked by others, but for some reason he shows hostility towards Makise Kurisu, the main heroine of Steins;Gate, even though this is their first meeting.
Suzuha exudes a mysterious presence right from the beginning.
Suzuha doesn't appear very often in the early game, but she exudes a unique and mysterious presence that's intriguing. There are many scenes where he carefully polishes his newly purchased bicycle, and these images are memorable, but anything beyond that is ignored, and although he does catch the viewer's attention, it's not really clear at first what kind of character he is.
And because of her cheerful personality, she inevitably gets contacted by many people. However, she surprisingly prefers being alone, and she doesn't try to join in groups, giving off an unstable impression. However, it is this eccentricity that makes Suzuha so charming, and from the middle of the story onwards, when it becomes clear that she is a key person who holds the key to the heart of the story, she performs brilliantly.
Is Amane Suzuha built for easy childbirth?! Steins;Gate has a lot of characters with realistic body sizes!
The female characters in Steins;Gate generally have relatively modest measurements. I'm not sure if this is the creator's preference, but while many heroines in typical moe anime tend to have large breasts, Steins;Gate's measurements are quite realistic. Suzuha, meanwhile, stands at 163cm tall and weighs 51kg, putting her weight in the 50kg range (though in most moe-themed works, female characters weigh in the 40kg range).
Furthermore, her measurements are 80cm bust, 59cm waist, 86cm hips, making her body quite suitable for childbirth! That's exactly the size of a girl you could find in real life! I'm not sure if this is a point of view of the creators, but perhaps the way they apply realistic numbers to even the smallest details like this is what gives Steins;Gate its depth (lol).
Rintaro gave Suzuha the name "Part-time Warrior"!
In Steins;Gate, the protagonist Okabe Rintaro gives his teammates increasingly strange nicknames. One such nickname he gave to Suzuha was "Part-time Warrior"! The name came from the fact that Suzuha started working part-time below Rintaro's apartment, and because she called herself a respectable warrior. Even if the person you're talking to is the insane mad scientist Hououin Kyouma (Hououin Kyouma is the name Rintaro gave himself), being called a part-time warrior wouldn't be very pleasant (lol).
[Spoiler] Suzuha is really a warrior! Super strong!
Amane Suzuha calls herself a great warrior, but we can see that she's truly strong! While martial arts are certainly her hobby, she single-handedly defeated the Rounders, an organization that attacked the lab midway through the story, despite them being armed! And she did it against multiple people! She was truly super strong! She also assisted Rintaro in traveling back in time. They performed an amazing feat that would be difficult even for special forces members!
[Spoiler] Suzuha's father was Darvish! They don't look alike at all!
This is a spoiler, but we find out that Suzuha's father is Darvish! Even after learning this fact, Darvish can't quite accept it, but being a pervert and nerd, Darvish doesn't seem to mind Suzuha calling him "Dad" (lol). So, if you're wondering who Suzuha's mother is, it's Amane Yuki, a popular cosplayer! The reason Suzuha doesn't look like her father is because she has a lot of Yuki's blood in her (good thing she doesn't look like Darvish)!
Amane Suzuha's voice actress is the experienced and popular Tamura Yukari!
When I first heard Suzuha's voice, I was struck by how unique and different it was from other characters...and it turns out that the voice actress is none other than the long-time, popular voice actress Yukari Tamura!
Yukari Tamura's most famous works are probably Mai Kawasumi from "Kanon" and Rika Furude from "Higurashi When They Cry." Rika, in particular, had a hidden personality called "Nipa," and I don't think anyone other than Tamura could have brought out her charm. Suzuha is also a character with two sides to her personality, so the portrayal of that was truly impressive!
Amane Suzuha has always been a key figure in the Steins;Gate series!
One thing that can be said throughout the Steins;Gate series is that Amane Suzuha is always the most important character involved in time travel throughout the series. Without Suzuha, Rintaro and his friends wouldn't be able to alter the past and future they're trying to do, and the story wouldn't work in the first place.
Not only is Amane Suzuha such an important character, she also plays an important role in "Steins;Gate 0," which began airing in April 2018! In Steins;Gate Zero, she takes a harsh attitude towards Rintaro, who has given up on changing the past, but you can see a different side of Suzuha than in the main story, so if you've watched the main story, be sure to check out Zero as well!
