The third season of the anime "Starmyu: High School Star Musical" will begin airing in the summer of 2019. The first, second, and OVA seasons have all been well-received, so we're all looking forward to the new anime series! This article will explain Team Otori, a key part of "Starmyu."
A Brief Summary of Starmyu
"Starmyu" protagonist Yuta Hoshitani enrolls at Ayanagi Academy, a prestigious music school. Until middle school, he was an ordinary male student attending a regular high school. However, one day, he met a high school student he didn't know and fell in love with, leading him to choose this path with the sole goal of performing on the same stage. On his first day at school, Hoshitani befriends Nayuki, a dorm mate, and discovers that his idol is in the musical department. Entering the musical department requires a rigorous exam, and in order to follow in his footsteps, he auditions for the musical department. The school's top student group, the Kaokai, conducts the screening process for new students. While Hoshitani, an amateur, naturally received poor reviews, the Kaokai's maverick, Hositani, seemed to sense something in him, and he was picked up by Team Otori.
What kind of team is Team Otori?
Next, we'll introduce Team Otori, a star-level group within the Musical Department. Only select students from Ayanagi Academy can enter the Musical Department. The most exceptional students, known as the "Star" group, receive direct instruction from the school's top third-year group, the Kaokai. Among them, Team Otori is mentored by Kaokai's maverick, Otori Itsuki. They placed 8th in the debut performance. Initially, Team Otori lacked cohesion due to their diverse personalities and personalities, but they developed strong bonds through lessons and training camps. A fun fact: all of the members' names include Takarazuka names (Star Troupe, Snow Troupe, Flower Troupe, Moon Troupe, Cosmos Troupe, etc.). Incidentally, the character for "kuga" (sky) is "sky," but the character "kuga" (sky) is pronounced "sora" (sky), so this kanji was used.
Demoted to General Slots!
Unfortunately, just before the final selection, the Ayanagi Festival, Team Otori was personally suspended by Kaokai for "dishonoring the school's traditions and dignity." However, Otori took their place and actually withdrew from Kaokai. As a result, the suspension was rescinded, but Team Otori was demoted to the general slots.
Team Otori Member 1: Yuta Hoshitani
Let's start with Yuta Hoshitani, the protagonist of "Starmyu" and team leader of Team Otori. He's loved singing and dancing since he was a child, but he attended the general education department in junior high school. One day, during his second year of junior high, he saw a high school student dancing at the Ayanagi Festival and became inspired. Captivated, Hoshitani decided to attend Ayanagi Academy and enrolled. His dream is to perform on the same stage as him. In fact, that high school student is actually close to him, but Hoshitani doesn't seem to notice him at all, as he barely remembers his face.
Not just bright! The protagonist also puts in a lot of effort
Hoshitani was a complete beginner, and had only studied music at school until he entered high school. As a result, he was a complete novice when it came to singing and acting, and was the least skilled on the team. However, by consistently practicing on his own every day and putting in consistent effort, he gradually improved his skills. By performing on stage with the team, he awakened to the joys of musicals.Although he didn't have the skills at first, he is a team leader who leads everyone with his natural cheerfulness. He cares deeply for his teammates.

Team Otori Member 4: Tengenji Sho
Born into a kashiwa (Japanese traditional entertainment) family, he is a man of great pride. Perhaps because he was surrounded by adults from a young age, he has a side to him that makes him not good at interacting with people his age. He often calls others "unsophisticated," which seems to be his catchphrase. In fact, he is already active in the entertainment industry and has a large female fan base. When he walks to school, he is greeted with such loud cheers that security guards are present, and he sometimes wears glasses to disguise himself. He seems to be quite popular with girls, but unlike Toraishi, he does not take the initiative to woo women. However, when asked about the type of opposite sex he likes, he says, "I don't have a type. I have a fairly wide range." This is quite surprising.
He loves cats
He lives alone in the dorms and has a pet cat named "Tavian." He dotes on her so much that Nayuki, who only heard his conversations, initially thought he was bringing women into his room. His love for her is so obvious that he even calls her an "angel." Incidentally, he is an only child. His pride leads him to believe that he is on a different level from those around him, and he has drawn a line between himself and them since the first day of school. During the audition for the star selection, his pride led him to be rude to the judges and result in his failure. However, he was picked up by Otori and made it into the star selection. At first, she didn't accept Hoshitani, who was practically an amateur, at all, even directly appealing to be removed from the team and treating him like an assistant. However, when Hoshitani's pet Tavian went missing, she saw him frantically searching for him until the early hours of the morning, and she began to accept him as a member of the team. Now they are very close.

His father passed away at a young age, and he grew up in a single-parent household. Despite financial difficulties, he relied on part-time work and scholarships to attend school. To please his musical-loving mother, he set out to become a musical star. While often misunderstood due to his seemingly intimidating and taciturn appearance, he also has a gentle side. He taught himself the piano and accompanied his students during lessons. He also played the piano while working part-time at a bar. He was a good fighter, and his school uniform from middle school was often tattered and bloodstained. An only child, his favorite animal is the elephant.
He was late for the audition, but...
On his first day of school, he was late due to his motorcycle running out of gas, and missed the audition for the star selection. Naturally, he was deemed a failure, but Otori picked him up and made it into the star selection. Even Otori was puzzled by his success, as he had passed without auditioning. At first, there was an atmosphere of reluctance on Team Otori to accept the beginner Hoshitani, but he didn't seem particularly bothered by it, and instead showed a kind side, willing to help. On the other hand, he often speaks his mind for the team, and everyone relies on him.
