One of the highlights of this film, "Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru," is the sight of Urushi getting embarrassed at a single word from Ayumu! When Ayumu casually attacks her, she blushes bright red in embarrassment, or she tries to cover it up and gets even more embarrassed, or she gets embarrassed as she fantasizes... In short, the sight of Urushi getting embarrassed is the highlight of the film. So, today we'll be introducing some of the embarrassing scenes from Urushi's many scenes that will make you feel particularly embarrassed just watching them!

The memorable first embarrassment... with arms wide open...

Urushi with arms wide open

In the original manga, Urushi's first embarrassment is, of course, in the first episode. She was already embarrassed when Ayumu called her "cute," but she refused to answer "yes" when he asked her, "You like me, don't you?" Urushi then came up with a plan to get him to admit his love for her. She spread her arms wide and said, "If you admit you like me, I'll hug you." She then followed up with, "I'll even kiss you." However, Ayumu barely managed to endure it... As a result, Urushi was left with a troubled expression, her face red with tears in her eyes, and her arms outstretched.

Urushi is overwhelmed by praise

Blushing Urushi

Urushi sat sighing in the flowerbed. She was feeling depressed with her least favorite class coming up, when Ayumu came stalking her...or rather, following her out of concern. Urushi then asked Ayumu to cheer her up. "You're so cute it doesn't matter if you're not good at sports," "Your smile is the cutest," "You look so pretty when you're serious," "Your hair is so shiny," "You smell good." Ayumu showers her with genuine compliments. Urushi, overwhelmed by the praise, frowns in confusion, but she can't help but grin as she covers her mouth with her hand.

Carried princess-style at the sports day...

Urushi carried princess-style

This scene also appears on the cover of the second volume of the manga. During a scavenger hunt at the sports day, Ayumu runs up to her and asks, "Senpai! Come with me," and when she agrees, he suddenly picks her up and starts running while carrying her like a princess. Unable to comprehend the sudden turn of events, Urushi freezes as Ayumu picks her up, and just lets him take her all the way to the finish line... (She looks so cute clutching the baton while being held in his arms). In the manga, she is blushing and repeatedly saying "What's this?" in her head, but if you look at the cover of volume 2, it looks like she is panicking, as usual, saying things like "Huh?" and "Ahh!?".

I was supposed to be escorting him on a date, but...

The two on a date

The day before the school cultural festival, Ayumu asks Urushi to go on a date with him, and the two decide to go around the festival together to look for club members. On the day of the festival, Urushi, acting like a senior, enthusiastically tells Ayumu, who has no dating experience, "I'll escort you!" and "Follow me!" However, Urushi also has no dating experience, and things are already looking dark at this point. Surprisingly, Urushi manages to go on a normal date, gradually gaining confidence and acting brimming with confidence towards the end of the event. Maki happens to come by and, hearing that they're on a date, says the forbidden words... "Urushi, do your best on your first date." Urushi had boasted that she'd escort him up to this point, but when it was revealed that it was their first date, she becomes embarrassed and loses her temper. "That's right, it's my first date. What's wrong with that!!" she says with tears in her eyes, but Ayumu is touched that he has found someone to go on his first date with, and Urushi exclaims "Ahh!" as usual, becoming even more embarrassed.

She starts calling Ayumu by his first name...

Urushi Calls Him by His First Name

Urushi is always embarrassed by Ayumu's counter-attacks, but in this scene, she shyly calls him by his first name, "Ayumu." It all started when Urushi called him by his first name, "Takeru." Until then, she'd called him "Tanaka," but when Ayumu asked, "I want you to call me by my first name, too," she started calling him "Ayumu." At first, when she heard this request, she laughed and said, "What's that?" and "Okay, okay," and agreed, but when the time came, Urushi started to get nervous. And when she called him by his name, she looked a little embarrassed and shy, calling him "Ayumu." Unlike usual, she was a little timid and shy, making for a cute scene.

Mistaking him for something naughty...

Misunderstood Urushi

On the day they installed a TV and DVD player in the clubroom, Urushi asked Ayumu if he had any DVDs. He blatantly hid his bag and replied, "No." Seeing his strange behavior, Urushi was convinced he had the DVDs, so she hinted at him and made him confess. (Ayumu is quick to let her guard down at times like this.) However, seeing Ayumu hesitant to take out the DVD, Urushi initially thought it was an anime or Sentai DVD, and assumed it was something erotic. From then on, Urushi remained confused and fidgeted, feeling embarrassed. They eventually decided to watch it together, and despite her embarrassment, she acted as if she was expecting something... but when she found out it was a horror movie, she looked extremely disappointed.

He ended up just being someone you wanted to hold hands with...

Urushi holds out her hand

It's winter. Even so, one particularly cold day, Urushi was talking about how she has cold hands due to her sensitivity to the cold. In contrast, Ayumu has a high body temperature because he does dry skin friction, which Urushi envies. Then, without thinking, she blurts out, "I wish Ayumu would warm my hands too." She immediately thought, "Ah," but thought that if she backed down at this point, he would think she was conscious of him, so she held out her cold hand. Urushi was embarrassed, her heart beating so hard that it could be heard outside, but when Ayumu took her hand, Urushi's hand was warm... In fact, her heart had been beating so hard that her body temperature had risen, so Urushi's hand became warm, which made her even more embarrassed, and she thought, "Now I look like the kind of guy who just wants to hold hands!"

Watching Takeru and Sakurako...

Urushi Watching Takeru and Sakurako

While studying alongside Takeru and Sakurako in the library, Ayumu, who was sitting closer than usual and receiving tutoring, felt nervous about being closer than usual to Urushi. Hearing this, Urushi felt a little embarrassed, but leaned in closer to tease him. Up until this point, Urushi had been unusually aggressive, but when she saw Takeru and Sakurako clinging to each other, she blushed and whispered to Ayumu if they were dating. "He's clinging to me like that, so obviously he likes me," Urushi says. However, Urushi was also whispering to Ayumu, so she was quite close to him... Having said that, "clinging to me = liking me," Urushi looked embarrassed and flustered, and moved away from Ayumu, trying to distance herself from him.

Urushi Makes a Mess on Valentine's Day

Urushi Hands Over Chocolate

This series features two Valentine's Day episodes set in the same timeline. One is serialized in the original manga, and the other is featured as a bonus in volume 4 of the manga. First of all, in the original story, she keeps missing the chance to give the chocolate, and finally tries to sneak it into her bag but takes a spectacular fall, which is embarrassing, plus the chocolate is discovered, so she ends up giving it to him, making it a doubly embarrassing Valentine's Day. Meanwhile, in the bonus episode, Urushi was fully prepared, having casually simulated giving it to Ayumu before he arrived. However, when she saw Ayumu enter the clubroom nervous and overly conscious of Valentine's Day, her nervousness spread to Urushi as well. As a result, she shyly hands him the chocolate, saying, "Please... take it too...", which makes it seem like he's serious about her, and she becomes embarrassed.

Urushi becomes embarrassed as she begins to think of Ayumu as a romantic interest

Aware of Ayumu

Finally, I'd like to introduce this scene, in which Yaotome Urushi truly becomes "Otome." The two hadn't seen each other for four days during the school trip, but during the trip, Urushi finally begins to realize that she likes Ayumu. And when Urushi returns from the trip, as expected, she becomes incredibly nervous in front of Ayumu, who has gone from being "my junior Ayumu" to "my beloved Ayumu." She manages to cover it up, but outside the clubroom, her face turns redder than ever, and she crouches down and holds her face.
