"Seven Demonic Swords Rule" is a Japanese light novel, commonly known as "Nanatsuma." It won first place in the "Light Novel Lover Bookstore Clerk Awards 2019" and also in "This Light Novel is Amazing! 2020," drawing significant attention. It has sold over 700,000 copies, and an anime adaptation is scheduled to air in July 2023. Curious about the cast and staff behind this highly anticipated series? Today, we'll introduce the voice cast and production staff!

Introduction: What's the Story?

The story is set at the prestigious Kimberly Magical Academy. There's a disturbing rumor that 20% of the students here are consumed by demons. Oliver Horn, who enrolled at this school, has a gentle personality but harbors a dark side. Various wizards gather around him and compete with each other. However, an entity known as the Demon Realm threatens to turn its fangs on Kimberly. What will become of Oliver and his friends?

Atsushi Tamaru (Oliver Horn)

Oliver is voiced by Atsushi Tamaru. While studying for university entrance exams, he happened to be listening to a radio program about voice actors, and became interested in the anime songs that were playing there, which led him to aspire to become a voice actor. While he was in university, he began attending a voice acting training school. He graduated from a science university, and his graduation research was titled "Development of a learning support tool for satellite operation through visualization of cut-off rigidity." As I am a liberal arts student, I don't know the details, but it seems like he is conducting very high-level research. He has appeared in a variety of productions from around 2009 to the present.

Nukui Yuka (Nanao Hibiya)

Nukui Yuka plays the role of Nanao. She is affiliated with Air Agency, an agency previously headed by Keiji Fujiwara (who passed away in April 2020). She lists singing as both a hobby and a special skill, and she also sings character songs. In addition to this work, she currently plays major characters in "Sugar Apple Every Tale," "Bonds of Aryll," and "The Beast's Bride," and her opportunities for success are increasing. We look forward to seeing her future success.

Hitomi Owada (Kati Aalto)

Hitomi Owada, who plays Kati, majored in music at university and played the saxophone. While immersed in music, she considered a life outside of music and began to aspire to a career as a voice actress, which would allow her to express herself in a way she had always dreamed of. Owada is known for her role as Smart Falcon in the "Uma Musume: Pretty Derby" series, and many people may know her from her Uma Musume background.

Misuzu Yamada (Michella MacFarlane)

Misuzu Yamada, who plays Michella, was a member of the broadcasting club and the archery club in high school, demonstrating her academic and athletic talent. Since the broadcasting club offers many opportunities to use your voice, perhaps that's where she first became interested in voice acting. She has also worked as a nursery school teacher in Tokyo, and holds a kindergarten teaching license in addition to her license. She has also provided career education at elementary and junior high schools in Tokyo, emphasizing the importance of reading. I'm curious to see what career education from a voice actor's perspective is like.

Shinsuke Sugawara (Guy Greenwood)

Shinsuke Sugawara plays the role of Guy. Originally from Ibaraki Prefecture, he is currently affiliated with the agency Sigma Seven. Prior to that, he was a freelancer. His first appearance was in a video game, "Arsulan Senki x Musou," where he played a soldier. His first regular role was in "Flying Witch," where he played Kei Kuramoto, the protagonist's cousin. He has also appeared in a variety of other works, from main characters to supporting roles.

Riho Sugiyama (Pete Reston)

Riho Sugiyama, who plays Pete, is from Hokkaido and is affiliated with the agency Mouse Promotion. The work that catapulted Sugiyama to fame was "Wave, Listen to Me!." The main character, Minare, is a radio personality, and has many lines in the film. Sugiyama, who plays Minare, took on the extremely challenging role of speaking over 60% of the approximately 24-minute film. She was selected for the role because she's from Hokkaido, just like Minare, and she delivered brilliantly. Since then, she has appeared in various productions, drawing even more attention to her work.

Masato Matsune (Director)

The director of this work is Masato Matsune. A native of Fukui Prefecture, he works not only as an animation director but also as a screenwriter. He has also directed "Pokémon Evolutions," "Idolish Seven," and "Alice in Borderland." He actively tweets information about "Seven Demonic Swords Rule" on Twitter. By the way, the dog in the image is Matsune's Twitter icon, and he apparently loves dogs.

Miyuki Ruria (Character Designer)

Miyuki Ruria is in charge of character designers. The red panda in the image is her Twitter icon. Coincidentally (?), it's the same animal icon as director Matsune. She calls herself an "otaku artist" and works primarily on illustrations for light novels. She actively retweets tweets from the voice cast, which shows her deep attachment to the series.
