"Kishibe Rohan Doesn't Move" is a spin-off story narrated by Kishibe Rohan, a popular character from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4, "Diamond is Unbreakable." Several episodes have been adapted into anime OVAs, and a live-action drama starring Takahashi Issei as Kishibe Rohan has aired. This time, we'll be revealing spoilers for the episode featured in Volume 1 of the manga!

Episode #16: Confessional

After sustaining an injury, Kishibe Rohan puts his writing on hold and travels to Venice, Italy. Wanting to obtain documents from the association, Kishibe Rohan photographs the church and attempts to enter the "confessional" for the sake of his experience, despite the ban. However, it turns out to be a room for people seeking advice, not a room for priests who listen to confessions. Mistaken for a priest, Kishibe ends up listening to a man's confession in the confessional.

Confessional Room 2

The man was 24 years old and working at a corn market. A homeless man arrives. The homeless man asks for something to eat, but the man has no desire to give him food without working, so he forces him to work if he wants food. However, the homeless man, already at the limit of his physical strength, is unable to withstand the work and dies. The homeless man then appears as a vengeful spirit, declaring, "I'll definitely come back for you when you're at the peak of your happiness!" The man then experiences incredible good fortune and amasses vast wealth.

Confession Room ③

Just as the man's life reaches its peak, having married a beautiful wife and blessed with adorable children, the spirit of a homeless man appears. The man's good fortune was only achieved with the help of an evil spirit, who wanted him to experience the height of happiness. However, it would be unpleasant to let him die with what he perceived as a grudge, so the spirit gives him a chance. That chance is to throw popcorn higher than the lamp and catch it in his mouth three times in a row.

Confession Room ④

The man throws the popcorn into the air, briefly losing it in the glare of the sunlight, but manages to catch it. He then attempts to block the sunlight with a cloud, but is targeted by birds that are after the popcorn. The man scatters popcorn to distract the birds, and succeeds a second time, but this attracts a large number of birds. Finally, he attempts to light the popcorn and catch it, but the flames are lost in the sunlight, causing him to lose sight of the popcorn and fail. The man is killed by the evil spirit.

Confessional ⑤

The man is dead. So who is here in the confessional? The murdered man was actually a fake, paid for by the first man to undergo plastic surgery. The fake was killed in place of the real man, but the case remains unsolved. Now, the murdered man is possessed by two evil spirits: the murdered man's evil spirit and the evil spirit of a homeless man.

Episode #02 Rokukabezaka

Rohan Kishibe asks his editor if he can borrow his royalties in advance. In fact, Rohan Kishibe went bankrupt for some reason and is now staying at Koichi's house. The reason is that he bought six mountains to forcibly thwart a planned resort development on a mountain with a legendary monster. He thought that if he turned it into a resort, the monsters would flee and he would lose his ideas. After the plan failed, land prices plummeted, leaving him with nothing. However, it turns out that the mountains really do have monsters, and Rohan Kishibe begins to recount his own experience of encountering them.

Rokkakezaka ②

Ogo Kusunoki Takako, the only daughter of a wealthy family from a different family living in Rokkakezaka Village, accidentally kills her boyfriend, Kamafusa Gunpei. Although it was an accident, the circumstances make it appear as if Kusunoki Takako had committed the murder. Blood gushed out endlessly from Gunpei's body, but Kusunoki Takako somehow manages to hide it and get away with it. However, a certain amount of blood continued to flow from Gunpei's corpse, and even after marrying her fiancée, Takako Kusunoki discarded that blood every day.

Rokkakezaka ③

Gunpei's corpse neither stinks nor decays, and if sprayed with a spray bottle, it instantly returns to life. Eventually, Takako Kusunoki fell in love with Gunpei's corpse, and hearing rumors of this, Rohan Kishibe came to Rokkakezaka. Using his Heaven's Door ability, he discovered Takako Kusunoki's secret and set out to discover Gunpei's true identity and purpose. Suddenly, a girl appeared before him.

Rokkakezaka ④

Rohan Kishibe tried to chase the girl, but she fell and died. It was a situation similar to what Takako Kusunoki had experienced, and the girl's eyes rapidly died, just like Gunpei's. The girl was the child of Kusunoki Takako and the corpse of Gunpei. Kishibe Rohan escapes danger by using his Heaven's Door ability to write, "I don't know Kishibe Rohan. Even if I met him, I wouldn't even look at him."

Rokkakezaka ⑤

Kamafusa Gunpei was a yokai that possessed human love and emotional weaknesses, forcing humans to take care of him. Dying in front of someone's eyes was the yokai's true purpose and true identity.

Episode #05: Millionaire Village

Millionaire Village Cover

Shortly after the Rokukabe Hill incident, Kishibe Rohan's editor, Izumi Kyoka, suggests he write a manga about buying a villa deep in the mountains. In a corner of the mountains northwest of Morioh Town, with no roads leading to it, stands a row of mansions, all standing alone. Kyoka is looking to purchase that section of land. Apparently, all of the owners of the plots bought the land when they were 25 years old, and all of them have become billionaires. Kishibe Rohan and Kyoka decide to travel on foot to this mountain village to do some research.

Million of the Millionaires 2

Apparently, the village is extremely strict about manners and won't sell to anyone who violates them. When they arrive, a young guide named Ikkyu leads them through the mansion, but the test to test Kishibe Rohan and his friends' manners has already begun. Izumi, who had violated etiquette three times up to that point, is told to go home for the day. Unwilling to give up, Kyoka offers to try again, but the next moment, the baby bird she found at the entrance dies, and news arrives that Izumi's mother and fiancé have passed away.

Million of the Millionaires 3

If they pass this test, they can get anything they want, but if they fail, they lose something important. It's a high-risk, high-reward test engineered by the mountain gods. Kishibe Rohan uses Heaven's Door on Ikkyu and learns how it works, but Izumi is found guilty of violating etiquette by peeking into someone else's privacy, and she dies of a heart attack. Unable to return home like this, Kishibe Rohan asks for another try. The test is how to eat the corn he's been given. Kishibe bites right into the corn, using his Heaven's Door ability to make Ikkyu violate his etiquette, successfully restoring Izumi's life, as well as the lives of her mother and fiancé.

Million of the Rich ④

Ikkyu is outraged, calling this a scam, but Kishibe refuses the second try and descends the mountain before the mountain gods become enraged, successfully escaping. In the end, Izumi and Kishibe Rohan gained nothing, but they also lost nothing.

Episode #06 Poaching Beach

Poaching Beach Cover

After eating abalone at Tonio's restaurant, Kishibe Rohan is approached by Tonio with a request. The request is to catch black abalone, which is only found on the coast of Morioh Town. However, it is "poaching." Rohan Kishibe, who likes the idea, accepts the proposal. In keeping with poaching tradition, they poach abalone, but Tonio's goal is to save his girlfriend, who has lost the ability to walk due to a brain tumor. He hopes that Pearl Jam's powers and the legendary black abalone might help.

Poaching Beach ②

When they arrived at the poaching spot, they found a huge amount of abalone floating down the river, just as the legend had said. The two men were overjoyed as they set out to catch the abalone, but Tonio, who had been catching them, failed to emerge from the sea. Rohan Kishibe rushed to his rescue, but Tonio was already drowning, with countless abalone clinging to his body. Each abalone weighed around 2kg. Once attached to a body, they were not easily removed. These abalone were something that should not be touched in the water.

Poaching Beach ③

The abalone were simply drifting with the tide, but they were a natural trap. The legend of poaching was a trap set by poachers. Trapped by countless abalone and unable to move, Rohan Kishibe became convinced of this when he saw the skeletons surrounding him. Rohan Kishibe finds an octopus, a natural enemy of abalone, and uses his Heaven's Door ability to attack it. Tonio, who survived, treats Rohan Kishibe to an octopus, not an abalone, but his girlfriend is nearby.
