The new anime series of "Ranking of Kings," which has been generating buzz for its contrast between its charming, picture-book-like artwork and profound story, will begin airing in April. This series features not only the protagonist Bojji and his friend Kage, but also a variety of other fascinating characters. Of the many characters that appear, who is the strongest? Anyone who has ever read the manga or watched the anime has surely wondered this at least once. This time, I'd like to present a ranking of the strongest characters, including my own personal opinion! Did your predictions make it?
5th Place: Satun
In fifth place is a character named Satun. He is said to be the king of the underworld, a land of dying gods. Although he appears mostly in flashbacks and rarely plays a major role in real-time, he is a powerful and impressive character, so we've included him here. Satun had three sons, and he was defeated by them after creating a dictatorial state. Since he's not human, he's (unsurprisingly) extraordinarily large and uses magic. He desires immortality and extends his own life by sucking the life out of his people. He's brutal and will stop at nothing to achieve his own ends. While much about him remains unclear in the anime, Bojji's father, Bossu, is said to have had a difficult time fighting him, proving his strength.
4th Place: Death Har
In fourth place is Death Har. He is the son of Satun, who is ranked 5th. He is highly trusted by the people and is ranked 2nd in the king rankings in the story. He seems to have a complex about his own face, to the point of destroying the bronze statue of Deshar made by the people. Although he is loved by the people, he sometimes looks down on others and even mocks Bojji, calling him incompetent. His fighting style uses a metal club and lightning-based magic, which just sounds strong. His power is considerable, likely inherited from his father. He also has the ability to neutralize opponents with lightning magic, making him a character with excellent offensive and defensive abilities.
3rd Place: Ouken
In third place is Ouken, also known as the Sinner of the Underworld. He is the younger brother of Deshar and Despa, and the son of Satun. Like Deshar, Satun-related connections are strong. Something happened during his battle with his father, Satun, and he became immortal. Originally a kind and well-liked person, he lost his reason after becoming immortal, becoming a hedonist who takes pleasure in hurting others. As a result, he is imprisoned as a criminal. His cruelty is revealed in scenes later in the anime. Because he lacks emotions, he has no hesitation in killing people, making him a true psychopath.
Second Place: Bojji
Second place goes to the protagonist, Bojji. Bojji starts out weak, but gradually grows stronger, eventually achieving a high ranking. Born under a curse, Bojji is weak and deaf, and unable to speak. However, he has mastered lip-reading, allowing him to understand what others are saying by their mouth movements. Through training, he has attained the ultimate level of strength, so powerful that Deathpara tells Deathhar, "You're no match for Bojji." Using a small sword and lip-reading, he reads his opponents' movements and gains an advantage in battle. Furthermore, thanks to the senses bestowed upon him by Deathpara, he is able to sense the weak spots in objects. These abilities have been used to defeat opponents many times larger than himself.
1st Place: Bossu
Topping the list is Bojji's father, Bossu. While he ranks 7th in the series' King Ranking, if we focused on strength alone, he would undoubtedly be ranked 1st. Bossu has always wanted to become the strongest man in the world, and has fought various people in his quest. One day, after being defeated by a man named Milanjo, Bossu, at Milanjo's suggestion, made a pact with a demon and, by stealing Bojji's powers, became the strongest man in the world. Incidentally, Boss himself didn't seem to be particularly interested in Ranking of Kings. Even after his death, he took over Daida's body, and despite his small size, he remained strong. Not only is he strong, but the process and stories behind his rise to power are incredibly compelling, so he's proudly ranked first.
