My Home Hero, a spring anime scheduled to air from April 2023, is a crime suspense story full of tension in which Tosu Tetsuo, an ordinary office worker who used to live a peaceful life, commits murder to protect his family and engages in a psychological battle with a group of semi-criminals that is too serious. This time, we have compiled a list of characters that appear in My Home Hero!
Character 1: Tosu Tetsuo
A 47-year-old ordinary office worker who works at a toy manufacturer. He is relied on at work because of his kindness, and is the breadwinner of a happy family with a reliable wife and a kind daughter who is rebellious but kind. However, his daughter Reika's boyfriend is a semi-criminal who is after his wife's family inheritance, and when he finds out that Reika's boyfriend has impulsively killed two ex-girlfriends in the past without being arrested and that Reika is trying to harm his daughter, he impulsively commits the crime of murder. However, since it was clear that his family would be harmed even if he turned himself in, he decides to deal with the semi-criminal using his knowledge of mysteries as a hobby and the mental strength to do anything once he decides to do it.
Character No. 2 Tosu Kasen
Tetsuo's wife, a kind and reliable wife. She happened to be present when Tetsuo killed her daughter's boyfriend, and after that, she and Tetsuo became accomplices in concealing the death. She is quick-witted and proactive, and often saves Tetsuo. Her family is wealthy, but they are estranged from her because they practically ran away together. Her family is a Shinto cult, and her outstanding acting skills and mental strength come from playing the role of a shrine maiden in that environment.
Character No. 3: Tosu Reika
Tetsuo's daughter. She is a college student and in her rebellious phase, so she is cold to her father, but she is a kind girl who sends him presents every year. The whole thing started when her boyfriend found out about her domestic violence, but Reika herself found out that her boyfriend was a gangster who was after her inheritance. He has a strong sense of justice and sometimes carelessly gets himself involved in dangerous things, but he is quick-witted and proactive, so he has the ability to overcome situations on his own.
Character No. 4: Majima Kyoichi
The leader of the task force of a gangster group that is after the inheritance of his wife's family home. He is talented enough to be entrusted with the role of leader at a young age, and is skilled at criminal knowledge and breaking into locks with lock picking. He never lets his suspicions slip from Tetsuo's eyes from start to finish, and sometimes uses forceful methods to torment Tetsuo until the very end, fighting a close battle. He is a boss character in Part 1, and at the end, he is outwitted by Tetsuo and is almost eliminated by the organization, but he manages to escape, and he appears as an important character in Parts 2 and 3.
Character No. 5: Narcotics Attorney Nobuto
Reika's boyfriend. He is violent, spends money recklessly, and has a bad reputation with women. He is the worst DV boyfriend. In fact, the reason he approached Reika was that he was a member of a semi-criminal organization that was after the inheritance of Reika's wife's family home. In the past, he impulsively killed two ex-girlfriends, and used the power of the organization to cover it up. He is not very competent, and although he commits actions that put the organization at risk, the only reason he can stay in the organization is because of his father, Narcotics Control Officer Yoshitatsu's connections, and after he disappeared (he was murdered by Tetsuo), a thorough investigation was launched at Yoshitatsu's orders.
Character No. 6 Narcotics Control Officer Yoshitatsu
A genius conman who belongs to a semi-criminal organization and the father of Narcotics Control Officer Nobuto. He is the head of the organization, playing many different characters on the phone and skillfully deceiving people. He is not good at communication because he was given a special education from a young age, and although he got married, his child became delinquent and he divorced his wife. Perhaps because of this, he dotes on his son, Nobuto, and it was he who used his connections to get Nobuto into the organization. He has a twisted personality and feels that it is okay if his son commits a crime and harms others, as long as his son is safe.
Character No. 7: Kubo
The leader of a semi-criminal organization. He has excellent criminal knowledge and judgment, but his fighting skills are particularly noteworthy, and the people who join his organization are elites who have been thoroughly screened by him. However, he is so thorough in his risk management that he will even kill his subordinates in cold blood in some cases, so the police have not been able to track him down. He is one of the final boss characters in this work, and in the second part, he causes a huge incident.
Character No. 8 Shino
A yakuza who frequents the gang "Mano-kai". He brings in Kubo, who was a mercenary in a conflict zone, and Masatori Yoshitatsu, who had the talent of a genius conman, into his organization and has them commit crimes such as fraud and murder. He is the root of everything for the Tosu family, as he is after the fortune of the Tosu family, a long-established Japanese clothing store, and brings Nobuto closer to Reika. He is one of the final boss characters in this work.
Character No. 9: Tabata Satoshi
He was a member of the drama club when Naeba Tetsuo and Tosu Kasen were in college. He still seems to aspire to be an action actor. He cooperates with Nobuto in filming a video to make it look like he is still alive, but tells him that it is a video to be used at a friend's wedding.
Character No. 10: Takeda
A member of a semi-criminal organization. When Kyoichi Mashima was removed from his position as leader of the active unit, he took over command. He is at odds with Kyoichi, who is young but active, and because of the lack of trust between them, he concludes that Kyoichi killed Nobuto and betrayed the organization. In the second part, a person who approached Tosu Reika was connected to Kyoichi, so he killed him on his own accord, which determined his fate.
Character No. 11: Yasumoto Koji
A detective from the Metropolitan Police Department's Organized Crime Division who appears in Part 2, he was once subordinate to Tetsuo's father. He is highly regarded for his many achievements, as he is not afraid to conduct illegal investigations. However, he does not use his position as a police officer to behave tyrannically, but only to eradicate crime and expose the organization to which Kubo belongs. Tetsuo emerges as a suspect during the investigation by the semi-criminals, and they almost perfectly trace what Tetsuo did and the circumstances behind it, encouraging him to turn himself in, but he is killed by his own subordinate who was connected to Mano.
Character No. 12 Yakushiji Taichi
Appears in Part 2. He is a subordinate of Yasumoto who is forced to participate in a forceful illegal investigation and has a pitiful role...or so we thought, but in fact he is secretly connected to Shino and indirectly kills Yasumoto by guiding him to kill him. After that, it is discovered that he was secretly connected to Shino and he is arrested.
Character No. 13 Tosu Goichiro
Appears towards the second part. Kasen's father, he reigns as the leader of a Shinto cult, creating a village in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture and living with his followers. He was originally the fifth generation owner of a long-established kimono shop, Tosu of Kimono, but after meeting Tosu Amaterasu, he created a cult. After forcibly drawing Kasen back to the village, he tries to take outrageous action against his daughter Reika, who chased after him, and against his own daughter Kasen...
Character No. 14 Tosu Yoji
Appears from Part 2. Tosu Kasen's cousin and a yakuza who controls the dark side of the village. He also serves as a bodyguard to eliminate outside enemies that approach the village, but he himself does not believe in the teachings or way the cult operates and looks at them with a cold eye. When Tetsuo came to the village to ask for approval of his marriage to Kasen, he cornered Tetsuo by using torture-like methods.
Character No. 15: Ozawa Kenshin
Appears in Part 2. A high school boy who works at Reika's part-time job. His hobby is reading detective novels online, and he approaches Tosu Tetsuo after realizing that the novel based on the events in Part 1 is based on a real story. Although he appears to be a boy with a dangerous hobby, he has actually been waiting for an opportunity to take revenge since his father was murdered by Kubo, and this is probably why he contacted Tetsuo. After that, he cooperates with Tetsuo and acts as his right-hand man, and finally gets the chance to take revenge on Kubo, but ends up failing. In the third part, his cooperative relationship with Tetsuo continues.
【My Home Hero】Character Summary
I've put together a list of characters that appear in My Home Hero! There are a lot of crazy characters, both on the friendly and enemy sides, but I think that makes it a great work with a lot of tension and thrills! It's surprising that it was made into an anime before the live-action version, but the things they do in the live-action version are too gruesome, so maybe it's better to make it into an anime! The My Home Hero anime will start airing in spring 2023, so be sure to check it out!
