The story is just beginning! ...and that's where the first season of the anime "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation" ended. The second season finally began in October 2021, and many are curious to see what happens next. So, today, we'll be giving you a sneak peek at how the story progresses in Season 2!
Meeting Kishirika and Kishirisu
The very first event to occur in Season 2 is meeting Kishirika! Hitogami, who hadn't appeared in a while, advised Rudeus to buy food from a street vendor and walk through the back alleys. When Rudeus did as he was told, he encountered a hungry girl. This girl was none other than the Demon Emperor, Kishirika Kishirisu. As a token of gratitude for the food, Rudeus received the "Eyes of Foresight" in his right eye, allowing him to see a little into the future.
Rudeus and the Smuggling Organization
Rudeus and his party were wondering what to do after the Supard tribe charged them an exorbitant price for their travel expenses. Then, Garus, a member of the smuggling organization, appeared. In fact, Ruijerd had already tracked down the smugglers, and he was to travel as "contraband." In exchange, Rudeus and Eris were asked to free the slaves in the "contraband" and return them to their homeland. However, upon learning that children were being smuggled, Ruijerd went on a rampage. Meanwhile, Rudeus discovered a giant dog-like creature and rescued it, only to be ambushed and knocked unconscious by someone.
Battle in the Great Forest
The unconscious Rudeus was brought to the Great Forest, where the beast tribes live. There, Rudeus is mistaken for a smuggler, and is stripped of his clothes and thrown into a cell. Two days later, a man named Geese, who had been caught cheating while gambling, arrives, and for some reason the two hit it off. They chat happily for a while, but then he notices something strange outside and rushes out of his cell. He suddenly finds himself in a sea of fire...a smuggling organization in the midst of kidnapping young Beast Race women and children. The mastermind is Garus, who approached him with the request. Garus devised this plan to attack the Great Beast Race Forest in order to take all the credit for himself, and he ends up fighting alongside Rudeus and his friends.
Reunion with Paul
After the battle in the Great Forest, Rudeus and his companions headed to Milishion. There, at a bar, Rudeus reunited with Paul, who looked completely different. Paul, whom he hadn't seen in years, was emaciated and his eyes looked somewhat vacant. Their reunion was far from a touching one, turning into a horrible one, filled with insults and violence. Geese, a former comrade in the "Black Wolf's Fang," mediates between the two. Geese, who had spoken with Rudeus from the Great Forest, told Paul about the hardships Rudeus had endured, ultimately leading to their reconciliation. They've become even more creepily close than before. (lol)
Princess Ariel and Fitz
Meanwhile, Sylphiette, caught up in the Fittoa Territory Transfer Incident, is transported to the skies above the Asura Kingdom and accidentally repels a monster attacking the princess. Currently serving as the guardian magician for the second princess, Ariel, he has changed his name to "Fitz" and is living as a man. He has lost his memory due to various shocks and has even forgotten about Rudeus. The Asura Kingdom is in the midst of a dispute over who will be the next king, and Fitz will help make Ariel king.
Ariel Assassination Attempt
The war for the throne intensified in the Asura Kingdom, escalating to the point where an assassin was sent after Ariel. Ariel narrowly escaped death thanks to Fitz, who was present at the scene. However, it was clear that the death game would only intensify from here on out. With the advice of those around her, she decided to study abroad to protect herself. However, Fitz was excluded from the trip. Ariel noticed that Fitz's memories had returned during the battle with the assassin and urged him to return to his loved ones. However, Fitz refused and decided to accompany Ariel. It's likely that what happened after this won't be revealed in the second season.
Meeting Aisha
Meanwhile, Rudeus and his companions had arrived in the Shirone Kingdom and were sending a letter to Roxy, the prince's tutor, asking for her help in rescuing Lilia and Aisha. (Roxy had already departed.) A short time later, a messenger from Shirone appeared, bringing a letter not a reply from Roxy...but a call from the seventh prince, Pax, and a letter from Aisha (and panties). The messenger who brought the letter was actually his younger sister Aisha in disguise, and the letter instructed them to escape with Aisha. However, Aisha tearfully begs Rudeus and his friends to help save Lilia, so they head to the castle.
Rescuing Lilia
With Aisha's guidance, who was able to move freely around the castle, Rudeus and Eris entered the castle relatively easily. Rudeus had concealed the fact that he was her brother until the entire journey, but (because Aisha disliked him) Eris called him "Rudeus" on the way, and Aisha realized he was her brother. Despite this, they somehow managed to guide Lilia back to her and rescue her. After rescuing them, all resentment faded, and the two brothers enjoyed a night of sibling fun. Once ready, Lilia and Aisha set off toward Paul.
Dragon God Orsted
After seeing off Lilia and Aisha, Rudeus and his friends set out on a journey to find Zenith. Along the way, they encountered a man with a sinister look and a masked girl named Nanahoshi. While Rudeus was unaffected, Ruijerd and Eris were so frightened that just the sight of their faces caused their entire bodies to tremble. At first, they almost passed each other without incident, but the moment the name "Hitogami" was mentioned, the situation changed completely. Ruijerd and Eris were kicked away, and Rudeus was pierced and left near death. However, at Nanahoshi's suggestion, Rudeus was revived with Orsted's healing magic.
Ruijerd's Farewell to Eris
After their long journey came to an end, Rudeus and his companions returned to Fittoa Territory. At this point, Ruijerd fulfilled his promise to "see them back home," and parted ways with the two to set out in search of his compatriots. Upon returning to the Fittoa territory, Eris was informed of the deaths of her parents and grandfather, as well as her own future. Knowing that she would become the mistress of Philemon, the mastermind behind the events, Eris married Rudeus that very day and disappeared the next day, traveling with Ghyslaine. Rudeus thus embarked on a journey alone to find Zenith.
Mushoku Tensei Season 2 Summary
