Moriarty the Patriot focuses on Professor Moriarty, Holmes's greatest rival in the world-famous detective novel "Sherlock Holmes" by Arthur Conan Doyle. It tells the story of James William Moriarty, who uses his brilliant mind to devise criminal plans and, by giving these plans to the right people, exposes the corruption of the aristocrats who oppress the common people and works in the shadows to change the corrupt class system. Disgusted by the discrimination inherent in the aristocracy and wanting to change society, Albert set his sights on an orphan who had shown exceptional intelligence since childhood and adopted him. He successfully replaced the orphan's older brother with the second son, William.

Incident #2: The Sudden Death of Baron Dublin

Baron Dublin, one of the two great nobles ruling the city of Durham, suddenly dies. He had been suffering from heart disease for some time, and it is believed that this was the result of a sudden attack. Baron Dublin imposed heavy taxes on the workers in his domain and lived a life of luxury, earning him a terrible reputation in his domain. Furthermore, this dissatisfaction was exacerbated by the benevolent rule of the Moriarty family, the other noble family that divided Durham. However, he left a will stating that he would give his land to his tenant farmers free of charge. Why he left such a will after such an oppressive rule is a mystery.

Due to his virtuous governance of his own domain, he incited discontent among the people of the Earl of Dublin's domain. The Earl of Dublin arranged a meeting with Albert and William, and invited a couple whose child had been abandoned by the Earl to attend. They psychologically pressured the Earl of Dublin, causing him to suffer a heart attack, forcing him to write a will in exchange for his help. Although it seemed the Earl of Dublin had survived, he died due to a fatal combination of his heart medication and the grapefruit served with his meal. Frieda, the poster girl of a tavern in Durham, committed suicide by jumping off a bridge into a swollen river. However, the real culprit who murdered Frida, Dudley Bale, a wealthy landowner, later committed suicide in the same way as Frida. He had previously committed other crimes, including embezzlement, and it is believed that the revelation of these crimes was the cause of his suicide, but the details are unknown.

A passenger on the luxury cruise ship Noatic was murdered. The culprit was London aristocrat, Count Blitz Enders. He committed the murder beneath the stage floor, causing a large audience to witness the murder. Given the rumors that he was a serial killer, the scene erupted in chaos. Enders, half-mad, fled and committed suicide by jumping into the sea. Enders, a member of the House of Lords, caused a major public uproar. However, there was one person who realized there was a mastermind behind this bizarre murder.

James Exposed

The Blitz Enders scandal was planned and carried out by William and other members of MI6. Unable to resist the urge to kill for pleasure, Enders was present when he carried out the murder, and pretended to be on his side, suggesting that they throw the body into the sea. Enders also carried out the act, but his subordinates retrieved the body at the last moment. Afterwards, he lied to the audience in the theater, saying that the victim he had killed was still alive. Enders hurriedly appeared at the body, and the whole plan was revealed to the crowd as he delivered the final blow.

The Only Man to Realize the Mastermind

Holmes is the Only One to Realize Something

Although the incident is generally believed to have been caused by Enders' madness, it was the film's other protagonist, Sherlock Holmes, the world's most famous detective, who realized that the incident was staged and that there was a mastermind behind it all. Even Holmes was unable to find any evidence to suggest a mastermind, but William became interested in Holmes, who shares his intelligence.

Case No. 5: Suspect Sherlock Holmes [A Study in Scarlet]

One day, Sherlock Holmes is arrested on suspicion of murdering Count Enoch J. Drepper. The crime scene contains evidence that points to Holmes' involvement, as well as a dying message that specifically names Holmes. Despite being a suspect, Holmes visits the murder scene and quickly senses the involvement of an amateur perpetrator and a brilliant mastermind who planned the murder. Holmes places a ring he found at the scene in a newspaper ad in an attempt to contact the mastermind, but instead of the suspect he'd identified through profiling, an old woman shows up. The ring is stolen by an agent disguised as an old woman.

However, Holmes had already identified the culprit. He had enlisted street children to search for the suspect based on three criteria: a large man with thick fingers, someone who had been to No. 3 that day, and someone who spoke with a Welsh accent. Furthermore, among the victims of Earl Enoch J. Draper's misdeeds during his lifetime was a woman named Lucy, whose name was inscribed on the ring. From this, Holmes determined that the culprit was Jefferson Hope, the carriage driver. Due to illness, Hope's life is running out, so he proposes to Holmes that he be killed in exchange for information about the mastermind behind the crime. Holmes declines.

William was the mastermind behind Jefferson Hope's revenge plot, and it was William who gave him the murder plan. However, Hope's goal was revenge murder itself, and due to his limited life expectancy due to illness, he almost intentionally committed the crime in a way that left a mark. William's goal was to use Hope's revenge to spread the scandal of the corrupt aristocrats to the public and to determine whether Holmes was the kind of person who would commit murder for his own purposes. When Holmes failed to kill Hope, William decided to promote Holmes as a hero who would expose the corruption of the aristocracy.
