"Kawaiisugi Crisis" is a work serialized in Jump Square, and will be made into an anime in April. It has been a hot topic since the beginning of serialization, and the highlight is the aliens who are fascinated by the charms of Earth animals. I'm sure there are many people who have been waiting for it to be made into an anime. I think that if it is animated and the movements and voices are added, it will be interesting in a different way from the original. First: What kind of story is it?
"Azathoth" is a space empire with a developed civilization, and has many stars under its control. Lisa Luna, a member of the interstellar research team, came to Earth to investigate the planet as a preliminary step to the invasion. Although she landed on Earth, she was shocked by the low level of civilization. However, at a cafe where she stopped for a meal, she encountered a "too cute" creature that could not be imagined on other planets in the universe. The creature's true identity was a "cat." After a shocking encounter with a cat, Lisa, despite being an invader, has her heart invaded by the creatures of Earth.
Highlights① Lisa's fateful encounter with a cat
This is the scene where the main character Lisa meets a cat for the first time. Liza, who looks down on Earth's civilization, stops by a cat cafe for a break, where an event occurs that will completely upend her life (for better or worse). For Liza, this is a shocking first contact with a cat. She is impressed that such cute creatures exist on Earth, and is knocked out by the reaction shown in the image above. If the invaders have their hearts invaded to this extent by Earth's creatures, it makes you wonder if they will be able to invade any further. I'm not sure what to do as an invader, but I can certainly understand the feeling of having your heart stolen by a cat.
Highlights② Liza is shocked by a dog
Although Liza's heart has been completely invaded by cats, there is another typical pet on Earth besides cats. Yes, dogs. Both are popular animals, so much so that there are arguments over whether they are dog people or cat people. Liza was used to seeing cats, but she didn't know much about dogs yet. When she first met a dog, she seemed quite scared. Unlike cats, dogs have the habit of running up to people when they see them. For Liza, who knows very little about the creatures on Earth, it would naturally be scary if an unknown creature ran up to her. At first, Liza was quite scared of dogs, but the distance between them gradually narrowed when her friend, Kasumi Yanagi, a cat cafe employee, found out that she had a dog. Kasumi owns a golden retriever. Golden retrievers are big dogs, but they are actually very intelligent and kind. When Liza saw the golden retriever doing things like sitting and giving a paw, she was surprised and impressed by the difference between its appearance and its personality.
Highlight 3: Hamster vs. Hedgehog
While the dog and cat debate continues, another fierce battle is also taking place. Kasumi Yanagi's cousin Sasara Azuma and her grandfather Mitsuhiko Azuma often clash over their favorite animals. Sasara likes hedgehogs, and Mitsuhiko likes hamsters. They both never give in to the idea that their favorite animal is the best. "Unlike dogs and cats, aren't hamsters and hedgehogs the same thing...?" I thought for a moment, but if I said something like that, I'm sure the two of them would be extremely angry. When Liza and the others decided to visit the Azuma family, they were quite at odds over whether to show them a hedgehog or a hamster.
