It is a comedy gag about Jahy-sama, a powerful demon who possesses everything: magical power, beauty, and power. However, she loses most of her powers and is cast out into the human world, where she bravely perseveres while shedding tears in the face of the cruel world. We would like to introduce the appeal and highlights of "Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!"
A brief synopsis of "Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!"
Jahy-sama, the second most powerful demon in the Demon World, possesses magical power, beauty, and power. One day, a magical girl attacks the Demon World and destroys the magic stone that powers the Demon World. She loses most of her powers and is cast into the human world. Powerless and reduced to the appearance of a young girl, Jahy-sama is forced to live a life of poverty in a rundown 40-year-old apartment in order to survive in the cruel human world. With what little magical power she has left, she returns to her adult form and, while barely making a living by working part-time at an izakaya, works tirelessly to rebuild the Demon World.
Charms and Highlights #1: Jahy-sama's pitiful misery is hilarious!!
The protagonist, Jahy-sama, was a powerful figure in the demon world, but her status was only due to her overwhelming power. Having lost her powers, Jahy-sama became as empty inside as a young girl, and even her appearance took on a childlike appearance. There was no way Jahy-sama could survive in the cruel human world. She lived in a shabby apartment and always ate bean sprouts for dinner. So pitiful!! But this is just the beginning. There are other, heartbreaking realities awaiting Jahy-sama that will bring tears to her eyes.
My former subordinate becomes a huge success in the human world
For example, when the Demon World was still alive and well, Jahy-sama had a loyal subordinate named Durji. Durji perfectly fulfilled even the most unreasonable requests and was fascinated by the charismatic evil Jahy-sama. With the demise of the Demon World, Durji was also sent to the human world. However, with his exceptional human skills, Durji started a company in the human world and became a huge success, becoming a winner in life. Jahy-sama is almost discouraged by this disparity, but she feels so sorry for him, having to keep up appearances in front of her former subordinate Durji. It's almost disheartening. Jahy-sama's pitiful yet adorable appearance when she's about to give up is a highlight!
Charm/Highlight #2: Jahy-sama's teary-eyed state is adorable!!
For Jahy-sama, who looks like a young girl and has the human skills of a young girl, the harsh human world is an extremely difficult environment. In this society where money is everything, food, clothing, and shelter are all dependent on money. This leads to Jahy-sama having to eat nothing but bean sprouts every day. Living like that, it's no wonder her mental health becomes tofu. Every episode, she displays her incompetent little girlish side, tearing up as she's overwhelmed by the cruelty of the human world. This familiar pattern brings tears to my eyes, but that's what makes it so entertaining. She's so pitifully adorable!!
Charm/Highlight #3: Jahy-sama's brave, unrewarded efforts are adorable!!
Jahy-sama's mission is to collect magic stones scattered throughout the human world in order to rebuild the demon world. She searches for magic stones while earning a living through part-time work, but she gets kicked and trampled on by children, birds, and even a magical girl who steals her magic stone. After all that hard work, she manages to get a decent-sized magic stone, but her subordinate Durji has collected far more than that. She is embarrassed to find out that the magic stones Jahy-sama worked so hard to get were nothing but trash. She works hard like this, but her efforts are not paying off.
Are you making any progress?
Still, Jahy-sama isn't retreating. She meets various people in her quest to restore the Demon World, improves her customer service skills, earns a raise in her hourly wage, reconciles with her sworn enemy, a magical girl, and reunites with her beloved Demon King while collecting magic stones. She's making progress, little by little. This is heartwarming to watch. She's not entirely pitiful, as she's somewhat rewarded. While it may seem a little sad, there are also occasional moments that make Jahy-sama smile.
Charm/Highlight #4: The Unfortunate Characters Are Cute and Incompetent!!
Jahy-sama is a disappointing character, but there are few characters in this series who aren't disappointing. Many of the characters have a certain air of disappointment about them. In particular, Salwa, the demon world elite who aspires to take Jahy-sama's place, and the two magical girls who destroyed the demon world, are perhaps even more disappointing than Jahy-sama. These disappointing characters are interesting and adorable.
Saruwa, the Useless Demon World Elite
A self-proclaimed elite who aspires to take Jahy-sama's place as the No. 2 in the demon world. As befits a self-proclaimed elite, he attempts to defeat Jahy-sama with a groundbreaking invention, but he's even more useless than Jahy-sama and destroys himself before the fight even begins, so Jahy-sama doesn't even acknowledge him. Also, despite her ambitions to become a charismatic villain, she's a good person at heart and mentally weak, so she's definitely not suited for the role.
Magical Girl, Jingu Kyoko
The magical girl who destroyed the magic stone and destroyed the demon world. She could be considered Jahy-sama's nemesis, but even in the human world, she storms into Jahy-sama's apartment, seeking the magic stone, the source of her power. Magic stones bring terrible misfortune to ordinary humans who possess them. Living alone with no family or friends, she finds her reason for living by taking on the misfortunes of others. She's very opinionated, naive, and heavy-hearted. Has she made peace with Jahy-sama? After that, Jahy-sama is so happy to have made her new friend that she starts hanging around almost every day, but she didn't initially think of her as a friend. Her somewhat unapproachable beauty may also be a reason for her loneliness.
Charm/Highlight #5: The Magical Girl and the Mastermind Are Intriguing!!
Jahy-sama encounters the magical girl who destroyed the demon world again in the human world. However, the magical girl was, in a sense, given power by someone and destroyed the demon world as that someone told her to. After a series of twists and turns, Jahy-sama and the magical girl finally make peace, but the mastermind behind the destruction of the demon world using the magical girls is also secretly scheming, and there are some intriguing plot twists unfolding behind the heartwarming comedy!
