A variety of powerful characters appear in the story, and it's no wonder people are wondering who is the strongest, but this work is full of realism, with factors such as preparation, compatibility, surprise attacks, and surprise kills all having a major impact on victory or defeat, making it difficult to generalize about who is strongest. In this work, a world where a surprise attack or countermeasure can result in a giant-killing of an overwhelmingly powerful opponent is possible, but this character is so overwhelmingly powerful that it's hard to imagine anyone defeating him.
Strength Ranking #2: Demon King - Still a Mystery
A former demon king. He led the demons, including the Seven Sages, and is said to have lived for 1,000 years. When he was defeated by the heroes Himmel, Freiren, Heiter, and Eisen, humanity was freed from the threat of demons. Since he was defeated at the beginning of the story, his true strength is unknown, but he was powerful enough to unite the Seven Sages, and Freiren says that it took all four of them to defeat him. It's said that he wished for coexistence with humanity during his lifetime, but demons are incompatible with humanity, so we'd like to see more of his character in the future.
Strength Ranking #3: Freiren, the Protagonist of the Series
The protagonist of the series and part of the party that defeated the Demon King. A long-lived elven magician, Freiren is nicknamed "Funeral Freiren" for having killed more demons than any other person in history. In addition to her abilities, her strength lies in her powerful strategies and knowledge, which go beyond magical ability. She can falsely deceive opponents into thinking she is inferior by falsely representing her own magical power, and take advantage of her long life to devise thorough countermeasures. Even she has experienced defeat, and it is her policy not to fight a battle she cannot win. She is a strong person who makes you think that people like her must be strong in real life as well. She is long-lived, and her vast amount of time allows her to devise countermeasures even when facing an opponent she cannot defeat.
Strength Ranking #4: The Southern Hero - The Most Powerful Man of All Time
When the Demon King was alive, there were other heroes besides Himmel and his companions. The Southern Hero was said to be the strongest of them all, possessing even greater strength than Himmel. His strength was so great that he annihilated the Demon King's frontline troops in just one year. However, perhaps because he was so wary of them, he was defeated by a concentrated force consisting of all the Seven Sages and all the members of the Omniscient Schlacht. However, he took down three of the Seven Sages and Schlacht, leaving no doubt that he was one of humanity's most powerful warriors. Both the hero and the demon knew the outcome thanks to their future-seeing magic. Even knowing the outcome, the fact that it still ended the way it did shows that the Southern Hero was compelled to kill him.
Strength Ranking #5: Flamme, the Legendary Wizard and Freiren's Master
A legendary great wizard considered the founder of human magic. He was Freiren's master and Zellier's disciple. While he lived 1,000 years ago and is naturally deceased, he shared Freiren's hatred of demons and taught Freiren how to defeat them. She teaches Freiren powerful fighting techniques, such as deceiving demons by falsely reporting Freiren's current magical power, and using techniques such as running, hiding, and surprise attacks to deceive and defeat enemies. She herself is a powerful warrior, capable of instantly killing powerful members of the Demon King's army. Despite this, Flamme is considered a failure by her master, Zellier.
Strength Ranking #6: Hero Himmel, the Hero Who Saved the World
The hero who once defeated the Demon King. However, his true strength can only be inferred from Freiren's recollections, and much of his true strength remains unknown. However, the fact remains that he defeated the Demon King, and he must have had the ability to be a hero. His personality of not being able to ignore people in trouble seems to have often gotten him into trouble, but he still continues to help people in various places and is treated as a hero by the people. There are many unknowns about him, but he has been ranked this way based on his ability to defeat the Demon King. Strength Ranking #7: Mahato of the Golden Land - His Curse is Overpowered
The last surviving member of the Seven Sages under the Demon King's command, Mahato was known as the strongest demon. He wields the daunting "magic that turns everything to gold," a spell so daunting that even Freiren once lost to it and gave up without finding a countermeasure. He also wields incredibly powerful curses that are impossible to defend against or remove. Furthermore, the detection magic system within the Golden Land he created is so powerful that only Zellier can deceive Mahato and get close. Although he's a hopeless enemy, he lacks the tactics of deception and exploitation unique to this game, earning him this ranking.
Strength Ranking #8: Solitaire - The Nameless Powerful
An eccentric demon researching humanity. Though considered to be on the same level as Freiren and Mahat, he remains an unknown demon. This means that no one has been able to bring back this information, and he has eliminated all enemies he encounters. As a demon with a thirst for knowledge, he possessed a unique strength in that he understood the value of information advances.
Strength Ranking #9: Aura of the Guillotine - Countermeasures are Important
One of the Seven Sages who survived after the Demon King's defeat. Using the Scales of Submission, she weighs her own soul against the enemy's, forcing those with low magical power to submit to her. She attempted to make a comeback by leading a headless army of immortals. There's no doubt she's an overwhelming force in terms of both strength and ability, but Freiren, who "knew" the magic, used it to her advantage by completely concealing her own magical power, forcing Aura to commit suicide. Despite his abilities, he was easily defeated by complacency, countermeasures, and unintelligible killing techniques.
Strength Ranking #10: Kval - He's actually even stronger...
A demon also known as the Sage of Corruption. Freiren once fought him, but was unable to defeat him due to his strength, and he was forced to be sealed away by Himmel and his allies. His strength was due to the creation of a powerful defense-piercing spell called Zoltrak. However, while Kval was sealed away, Zoltrak's power was analyzed by humans, and it was adapted for use as an offensive and defensive weapon. After the seal was broken, Freiren and humanity's thorough countermeasures easily defeated her. While Freiren's ruthlessness makes her overshadow her, her analytical skills immediately after her resurrection also provided a glimpse of her strength.
