In this article, we'll cover events likely to be covered in Season 2, including the true identity of Joker and the truth behind the "Seigang Sect," which fans of Season 1 will be curious about! Please note that this article contains spoilers, so please be careful if you haven't read the original manga.

Let's start with a recap of the end of Season 1!

In Season 1, Shinra and the Special Fire Force 8 pursued the "Evangelist" into the Nether. While Shinra successfully made contact with his younger brother, Sho, he was severely injured by Haumea... Shinra is saved by the other members and taken to Special Fire Force Unit 6, where Battalion Commander Huang, who specializes in treating people with special abilities, is stationed.

After over seven hours of surgery, Shinra regained consciousness three days later. Then, Battalion Commander Burns of Special Fire Force Unit 1 visits him and tells him the truth about the fire that struck Shinra's family 12 years ago. In order to investigate the "Adolla Link," Shinra decides to visit Battalion Commander Argue of Special Fire Force Unit 4, who he saw during the Adolla Link.

Something strange happens to Kusakabe when he visits Arg...

Shinra Kusakabe

When Shinra visits Arg, he finds that he has experienced an "Adolla Link," but he only sees it as a sacred experience and does not know the truth. Then, Shinra is Adolla Linked by a mysterious woman who resembles a nun, and his heart is deeply shaken. The woman tempts Shinra, saying, "I'll let you meet your mother," and his consciousness is taken over, causing him to attack Arg.

Shinra's rampage was stopped by Arthur Boyle and Ogun Montgomery, who rushed to the scene, but the mysterious woman predicted the birth of the next Adolla Burst...

The Fifth Girl, Inca, Appears!

When the prophecy of the Adolla Burst's birth is shared with the eighth member, they receive information about a "woman who can predict fires." This woman predicts fires and commits "fire robbery," extorting large sums of money from people in exchange for helping them. The 8th immediately headed to the scene where the woman had appeared, and found fires breaking out all over the place and a horde of Flame Beasts had sprung up!

The woman who can predict fires, Inca Kasugatani, was in possession of an Adolla Burst, and was almost abducted by the men in white at the scene. Shinra went to protect her, but Inca refused because she loves danger and thrills... And so she followed the men in white.

We're off to the Chinese Peninsula in search of the truth behind Adolla Burst!

Demon-type Homurabito

After learning that "Adolla Bursts" can sometimes be born, Shinra and his friends decide to head to the Chinese Peninsula in search of the truth behind Adolla Bursts. There, they discover a sculpture called the "Goshintai," which is built in the same style as Amaterasu, the energy source of the Tokyo Empire. Surrounding it are many mysterious things, including Homurabito, Homura Dogs, and animals that can talk...

As they approach the Goshintai, Shinra hears a heartbeat-like sound coming from within, and he Adolla Links with someone. Upon entering the building, Shinra finds a large number of mysterious stone slabs inscribed with the digits of pi... Convinced that the woman he'd linked with was inside the sacred object, he attempts to communicate with her. It turns out the woman is there to power the object.

Joker and Shinmon Benimaru storm into the Seiyo Church?

Liar Joker

Joker, who appeared as a mysterious character in the first season of the anime, invites the 7th Battalion Commander, Shinmon Benimaru, to storm into the church to uncover the truth about it! There, they encounter the dark side of the church (the assassination squad), revealing that Joker is from the dark side. He had doubts while inside the Seiyo Church, and has been working with Victor Licht ever since.

When Joker and Benimaru infiltrate the depths of the Seiyo Church, they find Battalion Commander Burns there... It turns out that Joker and Burns are acquainted, and that Burns is the "pipe between the public and private parts of the Seiyo Church." They had previously experienced an Adolla Link during a top-secret mission, and both had lost an eye. Burns then hands Shinra and the others the notes of the wife of Seiyo Church's leader, Raphuls I, suggesting that the leader may have been transformed into someone else.

What is the truth behind the legend of the sun god passed down in the Seiyo Church...?

In the diary of Emperor Lafull's wife, she wrote that one day her husband transformed into a completely different person. The truth is that Yona, a member of the Missionary sect, had killed Emperor Lafull and taken his place... In other words, it's no exaggeration to say that the current Tokyo Empire was built by the Missionaries.

Incidentally, the "Pure Flame" that Raphuls I is said to have found refers to the first woman contained within Amaterasu. It's also not said that Amaterasu was created by the family of the eighth engineer, Vulcan, so this story is far from the truth.

The Truth About Haijima, the Supporter of the Tokyo Empire

Mad Scientist Victor

Just as Shinra was being asked by Burns to investigate Haijima Heavy Industries, the company's president instructed Licht, who was at the 8th, to bring Shinra to the company. Shinra then decided to visit Haijima Heavy Industries, knowing that Haijima's president, Greo Haijima, was interested in Shinra, who possessed an Adolla Burst.

In fact, after losing his family, Shinra grew up in a facility that researched children with special abilities until he became a firefighter. Shinra then learns from Greo that Amaterasu also contains a woman with an Adolla Burst, and that Haijima Heavy Industries desires a human with an Adolla Burst to fuel a second Amaterasu.

The Sixth Boy, Grandson Nataku, Awakens!

The facility where Shinra was raised was designed to search for children with Adolla Burst abilities. By sparing Shinra, more severe experiments were conducted, and there, Rekka Seimiya discovered a compatible grandson, Nataku, who was beaten to death by Yuichiro Kurono.

Later, the White Robes arrive, having caught wind of the birth of a new Adolla Burst, and Nataku awakens! The White Robes begin a battle for the sixth Pillar... Finally, all the Pillars needed to cause a major disaster are assembled.

Summary of What's Happening in Season 2

In Season 1 of the anime, only three Adolla Burst wielders appeared, but we'll likely see two more in Season 2! Additionally, the mysteries surrounding Haijima Heavy Industries and the Seiyo Church, two major organizations supporting the Tokyo Empire, will gradually be solved. All you can do is review Season 1 and wait for Season 2 to air!
