Fire Force. Episode 1 of the anime has been released. I started watching it without knowing the original work. The first thing that drew me in was the beautiful artwork of the scene. In a fictional world, there's a disaster known as the Homurabito. The Special Fire Force is tasked with appeasing their souls. The story follows the protagonist who joins the fire force. That's all I learned from episode 1. If you have any mistakes or questions, please let me know in the comments. (No spoilers please...)
A Brief Summary of Episode 1
Shinra, the protagonist, joins the Special Fire Force's Eighth Division. He is a third-generation ability user. It is said that as a child, he killed his mother and younger brother with his own flames, which led to discrimination from those around him and him being called the devil at the fire academy. However, there seems to be more to the truth. Perhaps the cause of the fire in his childhood will turn out to be like the final boss. Hoping to become a hero, Shinra is a slightly unusual person who laughs when he gets nervous. He joins the 8th Fire Department Special Association and accompanies them on his first mission, where he successfully pacifies the Homura people that appear there. He is applauded as a hero by those around him.
Character Summary
The protagonist, Shinra Kusakabe, is a third-generation ability user. He has flames in his feet, earning them the nickname "Devil's Feet." Battalion Commander Akitaru Oubi is non-ability user, but seems to be constantly training. Takehisa Hinawa is the company commander and a second-generation ability user. Maki Oze, also a second-generation ability user, lives in a garden of flowers. Sister Iris is non-ability user. She accompanies them in battle, but doesn't seem to be fighting; instead, she appears to be offering prayers for the repose of the souls of the Homura people.
The art is cool
The running style is similar to Naruto. But the quality of the art is completely different. Personally, I thought the nickname "Matchbox" was cool. The firefighters even called themselves "Blue Liners," which gave it a more mundane feel. I watched the video thinking, "Isn't it reckless for a non-powered person to fight the Homuras?"
Requiem of the Soul
In the world of Fire Force, there is a unique prayer pose and a prayer called "Rahton." Is it something like "Amen"? Does it mean they have returned to the eternal flame? Or is it the flame of fire? Does the word "fire" have a different meaning in this world? Details about the Homura people are still unknown. However, as the woman mentioned, "It's a precious place," perhaps there are still remnants of human consciousness. There are also clear differences between the first, second, and third generation ability users. As Maki said during the battle, the third generation possesses more powerful abilities.
I can't wait for the next episode
As a Jump manga, the anticipation was high, but I won't tell you that I honestly didn't have high expectations. Fire Force was incredibly cool. I'm looking forward to the next episode.
