Gajeel's Profile

A young wizard with messy black hair that reaches down to his back. He has a black guild crest on his left shoulder. (Right shoulder when in the "Phantom Ruler") When he first appeared, he was in the "Phantom Ruler" and was the one who (physically) destroyed the "Fairy Tail" guild. He is an iron dragon mage raised by the iron dragon Metalicana.

Personality

He has a foul mouth and a surly personality. In the early days, he crucified Levy and the others on trees, tore up the guild, and even used Lucy as a target for throwing knives, scaring even his friends. He was the epitome of cruelty and evil. He seems to have felt guilty towards his friends in "Fairy Tail", and is willing to accept the punishment from Jet and Droy.

Hobbies

His hobby is music, and he is sometimes seen wearing a mysterious suit, hat, and sunglasses in the guild, playing with bunny girls such as Lucy dancing behind him. However, his skills and the evaluation of those around him are not very high, just like Orga's solo singing, and in the anime version, he is just yelling. After Fairy Tail disbanded, he seems to have traveled alone several times, and became a hot spring enthusiast.

Gajeel's first appearance

He was originally a member of the "Ghost Rulers". At that time, the other members called him "Gajeel-san" and feared him. He destroyed the Fairy Tail headquarters, ambushes Team Shadow Gear and turns them into a cornerstone in a park, blindfolds Lucy the hostage and uses her as a target for throwing knives, and does all sorts of evil deeds, but is finally defeated in a duel with Natsu.

Transferred to Fairy Tail

After the dissolution of the Phantom Lord, he transferred to Fairy Tail under the guidance of Juvia Lockser, who was in the same guild, and Fairy Tail Master Makarov (although he was told "Did you think I would forgive you" for interfering with Fairy Tail).

Double Agent

After this, he accepted the punishment from Shadow Gear's Jet and Droy, which led to Laxus starting BoFT, angry at his attitude. In BoFT, he challenged Laxus despite his rivalry with Natsu, and led Natsu to victory with a desperate tactic of turning his body into a lightning rod. After joining Fairy Tail, he joined Raven Tail, a group formed by Makarov's son (Laxus' father), Ivan Dreyar, as a double agent.

Iron Dragon Slayer Magic

Gajeel, an iron dragon slayer, can turn parts of his body into iron, and shape the iron he creates into weapons and projectiles. When his magic or stamina is depleted during battle, he can eat iron to recover his stamina and increase his magic. Gajeel, the Iron Dragon Slayer, uses his Iron Dragon Slayer magic to shape iron into various forms, allowing him to unleash a variety of attacks.

He is good at turning his whole body into iron scales, changing his body to the hardness of iron and increasing his attack and defense power. In addition to his natural strength, his power has increased, and he was able to crack a wall with just the wind pressure of his spin kick. While it's a magic suited to combat, befitting his warlike nature, it's also excellent as a support spell. One advantage is that it's easier to obtain supplies compared to fire or poison dragon slayer magic, but it does seem to make it harder to breathe and replenish supplies underwater.

Gajeel's Partner

In the Edolas arc, it was revealed that he was dissatisfied that Natsu and Wendy had cat companions but he did not, so he arbitrarily recognized Panther Lily, who was the head of the kingdom's division in Edolas, as his companion and fought with her. In the battle against Edolas King Faust, he unleashed the power of the dragon alongside Natsu and Wendy, defeating the artificial Dragon Droa Anim. When the influx of Anima into Edolas stopped, he became partners with Panther Lily, who had taken the form of a cat.

In the S-class exam arc, Juvia was chosen but he wasn't (Lily said, "You don't trust Erza,") but he partnered with Levy Maku Garden, who was chosen as an examinee. Since then, he has been acting more with two people, including Lily, and one animal.

Relationship with Levy

Levi, one of the members of Fairy Tail, is a small and cute girl. She has a friendly personality and loves books. Because of this, she quickly became friends with Lucy, who aspires to be a novelist. However, when Gajeel first joined Fairy Tail, Levy's reaction was not as friendly as usual. This was because, as Gajeel, the "Lord of the Ghosts," was in conflict with Fairy Tail, he had crucified three people, including Levy, on a tree as a warning to others, and Levy was afraid of Gajeel.

Gradually closing the gap

However, Levy, who is tolerant and kind, makes an effort to approach Gajeel while suppressing his fear of him. Gajeel responds to Levy's kindness, and before long he is accepted by the others as a Fairy Tail member. The distance between them gradually closes, and Gajeel and Levy seem to be quite close, but in the final episode, Levy makes a shocking confession to Gajeel.

Levi whispers in Gajeel's ear. Gajeel blushes immediately after. The voice was too quiet for the people around to hear, but Lucy, who was a little distance away, heard the word "baby." Was Levy pregnant with Gajeel's child, or did she say "I want a baby"? That much has not been revealed, but it seems that their relationship was deeper than expected.

After being kept in cold sleep for seven years on Tenrou Island, he was revived and participated in the Great Demonic Battle as a member of Team B. During the battle with Rogue Cheney of the Sword-biting Tiger, Gajeel somehow ate a shadow and obtained the power of the Iron Shadow Dragon. Natsu ended the battle, but during it Gajeel discovered an underground dragon graveyard. During the battle with the Gate of the Underworld, he was sucked into the Black Water and nearly drowned in a battle with Torafuzar, one of the Nine Demon Gates, but was saved from the predicament by Levy's artificial respiration, and in the midst of an extremely disadvantageous situation, he absorbed the carbon from the Black Water and created steel, a remarkable feat, and defeated Torafuzar.

Gajeel's Relationships

He is unsociable and sadistic, so he doesn't have many friends, but for some reason Juvia, who is also from Phantom, calls him "Kimi" and in the anime version, they interact more (almost every time, she cries, "Why aren't you Gray-sama?!!"). Ever since his days as Phantom, he has had a terrible relationship with Natsu, and they even had a falling out during the Edolas arc, the Great Demonic Tournament, and the battle against the Nine Demons at the Gate of the Underworld. Therefore, when they team up in battle, it's common for them to use Natsu's (and by extension his own) rivalry to defeat each other individually. He has now become quite friendly with the three members of Shadow Gear, and as mentioned above, he has been spending more time together with Levy since the incident on Tenrou Island.

Gajeel in Edolas

Gajeel in Edolas. Not yet appeared in the manga version. A freelance journalist who denounces the kingdom's misrule, he is shunned by the people of Edolas. He uses the polite first-person pronoun "boku", has permed hair at the back, has earrings only in his ears, and wears glasses, a soft hat, and a suit. They share the same characteristic laugh, "Gihi." He meets Gajeel from Earthland at a bar in Edolas, hits it off with him, and helps him.

He first appeared as an enemy, but has since become firmly established as a member of "Fairy Tail." Gajeel's voice is played by voice actor Wataru Hatano. Hatano debuted as a voice actor in 2001, playing the role of an announcer in an original drama CD created by voice actor Takehito Koyasu. Her TV anime debut was in the same year as Ken Taito and Kodaira Sensei in "Yobarete Tobidete! Akubi-chan," and Hatano's representative anime voice roles include Reo Mibuchi in "Kuroko's Basketball," Nobunaga Oda in "Nobunaga's Shinobi," and Yaotome Gaku in "Idolish Seven."

Summary

Gajeel Redfox, voiced by voice actor Wataru Hatano. In "Fairy Tail," he appears as an iron dragon slayer. At first, he was an oddball within Fairy Tail because he belonged to a rival wizards' guild, but thanks to Levy's efforts, he seems to be accepted as a reliable comrade. It was revealed in the final episode that he has a very close relationship with Levy. Be sure to check out Gajeel's exploits in the original work and the anime.
