The final chapter of "Fairy Tail" has been confirmed for broadcast. From the prologue, Gray has been a member of the Black Magic Cult, which worships Zeref as a god, and is even said to hold the position of "executive." In this article, we will take a look at the members of the Black Magic Cult and why Gray joined the cult.
What is the Black Magic Cult?

A cult that worships Zeref, the most evil dark wizard in history, as a god. In fact, Zeref is still alive, but they are unaware of this truth and are willing to make any sacrifice to bring Zeref back into the world. They are a truly troublesome group. In the past, they oppressed and enslaved innocent people in order to build the Tower of Paradise, leaving them to die like insects. One would think that they were destroyed by Gerard, the leader of the freed slaves, but it turns out they were only a small force, and in Part 3, eight years after the Tower of Paradise's collapse, they begin to operate in earnest.
The Secret Activities of the Black Magic Cult

Taking advantage of the collapse of the Balamb Alliance, which held sway over the underworld's criminal activities, they rapidly expanded the scope of their activities, discovering that "living things die around Zeref." "If Zeref appears to bring about death, then if we artificially cause a large number of deaths, Lord Zeref will surely appear before us." This is a completely flawed logic they adopted, and they attempted to revive Zeref by committing mass murder.

A priest of the "Black Magic Cult." He has a crest on his hat. He carries a staff and wears a mask. He is an old man. He burned his own face beneath the mask in order to summon Ikusatsunagi. He is a blind believer in Zeref and is a cold-hearted and ruthless person who will even sacrifice his allies in order to summon him. In order to summon Zeref, he carries out Operation Purification, slaughtering many people in the city of Marva, and there he fights Natsu, losing to him in a single blow. Afterwards, he summons Ikusatsunagi in order to kill his allies and summon Zeref, but it is destroyed by Natsu.

One of the Eighteen Yakuma Warriors. He appears as a giant with large horns. He wields a gigantic sword powerful enough to split the earth with a single swing. He appears in the town of Marva through Arlock's summoning spell, but is destroyed and crushed by Natsu's "Flame Dragon King's Crushing Fist," which he gained strength from a year of training.

A member of the "Black Magic Cult." Also known as "Dark Sword Jerome." A man with naturally curled orange hair. He seems to like the nicknames "Shaggy" and "Lower Eyelashes" given to him by Briar. He is wary of Gray, who lost his family and mentor due to his relationship with Zeref. He uses the "Darkness Sword," a black sword that corrupts anything it touches. In the town of Malva, he fights Erza, but is defeated without realizing that he has been cut by her sword.

A member of the "Black Magic Cult." A dark-skinned woman with a pompadour hairstyle and revealing clothing under her cloak. She has a habit of giving people strange nicknames. She appears to have secretly harbored feelings for Gray, but her magic revealed this to Gray and Juvia, leading to Juvia labeling her as a "love rival." She fought Gray in the town of Marva, but was defeated by him and Juvia, who had barged in.
Mary

A senior member of the "Black Magic Cult." She is a woman with black cat-like ears and her eyes always glow. She is always smiling, but is quite sharp-tongued. She calls Arlock "Grandpa." She uses black magic to control viruses. A member of the "Black Magic Cult." He has a crest on the left chest of his uniform. He wears a gi with the character "cha" (green tea) written on the back and a beard with the character "matcha" (green tea) written on his forehead. He normally has narrow eyes, but when he opens them, they reveal clear pupils that don't match his appearance. He has a habit of bowing to nothing. He mistakenly believes that the writing on his clothes and forehead is related to Zeref. His catchphrase is "Ochaa", which seems to be a pun on "Achaa", but the reaction of those around him (especially Mary) is mixed. As his name suggests, he specializes in torture, and uses black magic to control torture devices. Although he is defeated once by Natsu, who has infiltrated the area, he manages to capture Natsu, Lucy, and Happy with the help of his other allies. Afterwards, he attempts to torture them to find out who sent them, but is immediately frozen by Gray. Afterwards, despite being the one to torture them, he is the one who is tortured and restrained instead.

He attempted to infiltrate the city, offering a false motive: "I began to admire Zeref after the incident with the Gate of Hades." At the time, he was in collusion with Erza, but the rumor was exaggerated and outrageous rumors were circulating within Fairy Tail that "even though he lived with Juvia, fell in love with her, and had a bratty affair, he had entered into a mistress contract with Lucy and was cheating on her with Erza"...

After Fairy Tail disbanded, he lived with Juvia in a certain village. However, after receiving information from Erza, he cooperated with her and... She infiltrates the dark magic cult that worships Zeref as a spy to destroy it. (She leaves Juvia behind in the village to avoid getting involved.)

Afterward, she reunites with Natsu and Lucy, who have attacked the cult in order to reunite Fairy Tail and prevent a certain incident. In front of the cult members, he acts as if he has fallen into darkness, but then rescues the captured Natsu and Lucy and tells them everything together with Erza. He then reunites with the strongest team, plus Juvia, Wendy, and Charles, to defeat and annihilate all the members of the Black Magic Cult, and together with his gathered allies, he rebuilds Fairy Tail.
Gray's Sudden Transformation

Silver Fullbuster was once an ordinary man. However, he lost his wife and was severely injured in an attack by Deliora, a demon from the Book of Zeref. Shortly after, he was abducted by Mardo Geel, the master of the Gate of Hades, who saw through his potential and forced him to learn Demon Slayer magic in order to crush rebellions. As his nickname suggests, he is an ice mage, and although he belongs to the Nine Demon Gates, which are (supposedly) made up entirely of demons, he is able to use magic to destroy demons. As his surname also suggests, he was the father of Gray Fullbuster, who died 17 years ago. In his final moments, Juvia told Gray that "E.N.D.", the true master of the Gate of Hades, was a fire demon, and upon learning the whole truth, she tearfully defeated Keith, who held the power over Silver's life and death, and finally passed away.

After Silver's death, he inherited his power. That power is the Devil Slayer. He hasn't forgotten his ice-shaping magic, so even against ice mages, he uses high-quality ice magic that combines demon-slaying magic and shaping magic. When you put it into words, it sounds like an incredible cheat. Furthermore, by inheriting this power, when they use their Devil Slayer magic, a demonic crest appears on their body. Later, they are confronted with a serious issue that affects Natsu's life and death.
What are Devil Slayers?
Source: Fairy Tail © Hiro Mashima, Kodansha / Fairy Tail Production Committee, TV Tokyo
A type of ability-based magician known as a "Slayer." Like Dragon Slayers and God Slayers, Demon Slayers can ingest elements and energy to transform them into their own power. Like other Slayers, they cannot consume the magic they create. Demon Slayers, as their name suggests, are practitioners of anti-demon magic. Like Dragon Slayers, when using Demon Slayer magic, their bodies transform into demon-like forms. The only characters who have mastered Demon Slayer magic in the series are Silver Fullbuster in "Gate of Hell" and his son, Gray Fullbuster.
Summary
While the Black Magic Cult itself doesn't play a particularly prominent role, it plays a surprisingly important role in the story, as Gray is a member of the organization. Gray plays a key role here, so fans of the cult should check out the original manga and anime.
