The long-awaited anime adaptation of "Ensemble Stars" is finally scheduled to air in July 2019. It's based on the incredibly popular idol training app game. The story follows the protagonist, a transfer student, as he produces various male idols at the academy, and features a host of fascinating idol units. In this article, we'll introduce the idol unit "Ryuuseitai," featured in "Ensemble Stars" (or "Enstars" for short). They're a sentai hero unit, champions of justice and never tolerate evil, but what exactly is this unit?
What kind of idol unit is Ryuuseitai?
This five-member sentai hero unit is led by Chiaki Morisawa. Their structure resembles that of a sentai hero, and each member's theme color is red, blue, yellow, green, and black. Starting with their leader, the members are all quite unique and have their own quirks, but when the time comes, they are able to fully demonstrate their abilities as a unit and form a strong, cohesive unit. They also promote themselves as "allies of justice," and in addition to their idol activities, they are also actively involved in volunteer work. In fact, they are known as a traditional unit at Yumenosaki Academy for generations, and have been replaced many times.
Introducing the members of Ryuseitai! Chiaki Morisawa
"I'm Chiaki Morisawa, with a burning heart! If you're ever in trouble, please rely on me!" "Justice doesn't have a vacation, so I'm busy! But I won't give up! I'm a righteous person, and an idol...!" A passionate and reliable senior. He serves as the captain (leader) of "Ryuuseitai," the school's oldest and most powerful unit, and his assigned color is "Ryusei Red." He loves being relied on, but at the same time, he seems to have trouble relying on others, and has a habit of taking things on himself. He has a bright and energetic personality and is quite affectionate. She's a kind and generous senior. However, she has a habit of pushing herself too hard, which often leads to catching colds and getting injured. She admires heroes from special effects films and forces her fellow unit members to introduce themselves and say their lines.
She likes to be relied on and is willing to take on any task, but she's not good at relying on others and tends to keep things to herself. She's very affectionate, but she's also a kind and generous senior.
What does she look like?
She has dark brown hair and an agile build. This is likely due to the fact that she also performs stunts alongside her idol activities. However, she seems to wish she were a little taller. She wears red sneakers with her uniform, and rolls up the sleeves of her blazer for easy movement. Her Ryuseitai unit outfits are also, of course, red.
What's her personality like?
Subaru calls her "Chi-chan Senpai." She has a strong sense of justice and always gives it her all, almost to the point of being a bit overbearing. She calls herself a "hero of justice" and has admired special effects heroes since childhood. She is the leader of the traditional idol unit "Ryuseitai," and her natural passion brings together its unique members. She's very caring, but sometimes she can be a little too affectionate and has a tendency to hug. She's not only known for hugging her unit members, but sometimes even the female protagonist (though she sometimes stops herself). She suffers from low blood pressure, which makes her a morning persona, but she apparently wakes up early on Sundays to watch special effects hero shows.
She loves Subaru!
He takes a keen interest in Subaru Myojo, a junior member of the basketball club. He pays a lot of attention to him and even tries to recruit him into his unit. Of course, he's quite a nuisance, but he shows no signs of giving up. He even goes so far as to go to the second-year classroom, sniff him, and declare, "I've become one with Myojo now...!" He claims he's "not a pervert." However, he's still a good shipmate, and in the main story, he even challenges the strongest unit, Fine, to help Subaru, who is isolated. "Fish...♪ Sea turtles...♪ Dozaemon...♪" "For an 'idol,' the 'appeal' is important. I'll become an 'idol' who knows more about the 'sea' and 'appeal'♪" He's a third-year student at Yumenosaki Academy. He's considered one of the "Three Eccentrics" and serves as the captain of the Marine Biology Club. He's known for being cryptic, mysterious, and elusive. He speaks in a gentle tone, and all of his lines are written in hiragana. As one of the "Three Eccentrics," he exhibits some unusual behavior, like bathing in the school's fountain and placing a giant device in the Marine Biology Club's clubroom. However, he also has a caring side. He loves aquatic and marine life, and when the topic of marine life comes up, his usual laid-back demeanor disappears and he becomes overly excited. He also loves the ocean and would love to swim, but he's a terrible swimmer and can't. That's why he bathes in the fountain. Ryusei Blue of the Ryuseitai unit.
What's his personality like?
A third-year high school student. One of the Three Eccentrics. Ryuseitai's name is, "The blue flame is a sign of mystery! We came from the blue sea~♪ Ryusei Blue! Beyond the new sea...☆." Despite being a member of a Sentai unit, he's quite laid-back and easygoing. She speaks to everyone in soft, polite language and has a soft, fluffy aura. She cherishes the sea creatures kept in the Marine Biology Club as if they were family. At first glance, she seems a bit cryptic and elusive, but she cares for everyone in the unit and watches over them. Incidentally, she is childhood friends with Madara, the former vice-captain of Ryuseitai, and speaks in a blunt manner that is unusual for her. However, she does seem to be grateful.

"Huh, good morning. I'm exhausted..." "Just because I'm an idol, people keep telling me I have to look 'sparkly' and 'energetic,' and it makes me depressed..." He's the tallest boy at the academy, and he's a bit timid. He's blessed with good looks and a great physique, but he lacks self-confidence, is lazy, and has a pessimistic personality. He didn't originally want to be an idol; he ended up enrolling in the idol department after taking the wrong department during the entrance exam.
He's not good at horror or thrillers. He plays Ryusei Green in the unit "Ryuseitai."
What's her personality like?
She lacks self-confidence and is a bit timid. She's also not good at using honorifics, and often makes gaffes and complains. She has a surprising story about accidentally enrolling in the idol department, but the reason she chose the academy was because it was close to her home! Incidentally, her home is a greengrocer in the shopping district near the academy. The Ryuseitai's introduction was rather hasty: "Green flames are a sign of compassion... What else? Something about healing...? My name is 'Midori', so it's Ryusei Green... Takamine Midori..." However, something changed during a certain event!

She never originally aspired to be an idol, and her shy personality has made her quite reluctant to pursue idol activities. Ryuseitai is a group of overly cheerful members, led by their overly passionate captain, but she somehow manages to keep up. She can be a bit lazy, and often complains about being depressed. Her favorite character is "yuru-chara" (mascot characters). She's extremely passionate about them, even skipping club activities for them, and is so passionate that she collects all the merchandise she likes. She also seems to love Fushimi Yuzuru's illustrations, calling him "the master artist."
What does she look like?
She has brown hair and is the tallest in her grade. While she's still growing, she thinks she would have preferred to be a little smaller. She doesn't like to stand out, so she doesn't want her hair to grow any longer. Apparently, she's grown a whopping 10 centimeters since last year! And while she doesn't seem to realize it, her classmates and unit members have commented that she's quite good-looking.

"Even within the academy, ninja training is essential!" "The yellow flame is a sign of hope! A ray of miracle shining through the darkness! Meteor Yellow, Shinobu Sengoku!" A first-year high school student who dreams of becoming a ninja and trains every day. He is the Meteor Yellow of the unit "Ryuuseitai."
What's his personality like?
A boy who admires ninjas, he even started a ninja club by himself. He spends all his time training alone. He speaks in a ninja-like manner, using expressions like "I" and "Gozaru." He is simple and honest, but easily deceived. He is also shy and dislikes being in crowded places. However, he is naturally cheerful and will warm to those who care for him. He is very attached to second-year student Mao Isara, who has been kind to him. He has also become good friends with classmate Yuta Aoi, and seems to get along well with Fuuma Kanzaki, who shares his love of period dramas. He is also often seen getting scolded by teachers for causing fires during training. He carries shuriken (throwing stars) with him during training, but they are made of rubber, so they are safe. Like a ninja, he also likes high places like attics. He is small and highly athletic, but doesn't seem to be able to fully utilize them. He is also a member of the broadcasting committee. He also loves frogs, and says, "Frogs are a ninja's best friend." He has two pet frogs named "Momochi" and "Thunder."
Hiding His Hobbies in the Past
Although he now uses "washi" (my name), Shinobu used "boku" (my name) as his first-person pronoun in middle school. Although he loved ninjas back then, he avoided using his current ninja accent for fear of being ridiculed by others. However, in Ryuseitai, he found his passion accepted. It was a miracle, and Shinobu was very happy. This led him to want to help others in similar situations.

"My hobby is weight training! My favorite food is kalbi! My dream for the future is to be a real man!" "I'll do my best! I'll work hard and become a strong idol!" In the unit "Ryuuseitai," he is in charge of Ryusei Black. However, he seems to like the color red, and even has red mesh in his hair. He wears his uniform in an active style, with the sleeves of his blazer rolled up. His hobby is weight training, and he's a member of the karate club. He trains daily, so he has a muscular body and is on the heavier side compared to his peers.
What's his personality like?
He's passionate and earnest, and has a reckless personality that allows him to focus on only one thing at a time. He works very hard, but his enthusiasm often goes awry. He's also clumsy with his hands, making him unskillful at detailed tasks. He's a member of the karate club, and seems to admire his senior, third-year student Kiryu Kuroro, calling him "the boss." He also likes "manly cooking" and claims to be good at it, but in reality, he has poor taste and is terrible at cooking, so much so that his parents have stopped him from even standing in the kitchen. He's apparently good friends with his classmates, Mashiro Tomoya and Shino Hajime, and Hajime often tutors him.
