"Edens Zero" is finally scheduled to begin airing in April 2021. Previously, RAVE and Fairy Tail have been adapted into anime, and this latest adaptation is sure to garner attention. Highlights of the series include the coexistence of humans and machines, as well as spectacular battle scenes using Ether Gear. This article introduces the plot of Edens Zero! We'll also cover what we currently know about Mother, the ultimate goal.
Theme Park: Granbell Kingdom
The story begins in Granbell Kingdom, a rundown theme park inhabited by robots. The robots of Granbell warmly welcome Rebecca as their first visitor in 100 years. Then, a boy who appears to be the same age as Rebecca appears before her. His name is Shiki, and he is the only human in the kingdom. After a day of fun playing around, Rebecca goes to sleep... but when she wakes up in the plaza, she finds herself captured by robots who have been infected with a virus and is about to be executed. Shiki saves Rebecca from this predicament, and the two escape from the kingdom and set off into space.
Planet Norma, the Planet Devoured by Time
Shiki and Rebecca travel to Planet Norma to seek out Dr. Wise in search of a spaceship to use to reach Mother, the Goddess of the Universe. However, the elderly doctor is nowhere to be found at Dr. Wise's house. Instead, a young man who claims to be Wise appears. Wise, who traveled back 50 years in time to Norma via the "Time Devourer," commits a theft and betrays the organization. He is pursued by Sybil's henchman and flees. Later, he steals a bag thinking it contains money, only to find an android named Pino inside. A battle ensues between Shiki and Sybil over Pino.
Space Pirate Elsie Crimson
After causing a great deal of trouble, Shiki and his friends escape Planet Norma while being pursued by the police. They are chased into space, but they manage to overcome the crisis by using Wise's Ether Gear, who was also on board. However, their hopes are short-lived as they are captured by a giant spaceship. A space pirate named Elsie appears and engages Shiki in combat. After the battle, Elsie reveals that the pirate they were fighting was a fake copy of herself, and offers to give the giant ship to Shiki. The ship's name is Edens Zero. It was once the spaceship of Shiki's father figure, the Demon King Ziggy. It was revealed that Elsie had entrusted the ship to Shiki after Ziggy requested that she give it to him when he went into space someday.
Searching for Sister at Blue Garden
After Shiki and his friends obtained Edens Zero, the first person to appear before them was Witch, one of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King. Witch had remained on the ship in sleep mode for 10 years to protect Edens Zero, but was reactivated when Shiki sat in the Demon King's chair. Shiki calls Shiki "Demon King" and sheds tears of joy at the Demon King's return. However, Shiki and his friends learn that the power of the remaining three Demon Kings, the Four Radiant Stars, is necessary to awaken Edens Zero's true power and travel to Mother. They set sail for Blue Garden, where the Sisters are believed to have been headed. However, there they become embroiled in an incident...
Going to Guilst to Rescue Rebecca
Rebecca is caught up in a kidnapping incident targeting video streamers. Shiki remembers that someone who appears to be one of his allies had said, "Come to Guildst," so he rushes to Guildst with the mysterious girl Homura, who says she wants to help with the rescue. Rebecca, who has been kidnapped, struggles to escape from prison in order to save her comrades, B. Cuba and others. Meanwhile, as Shiki is trying to save Rebecca, a nun who claims to be the leader of a mercenary group appears before him. Shiki is shocked to see that the nun has transformed into a villain, but during the battle, another nun appears...
Searching for Hermit: Heading to the Super Virtual Planet Digitalis
After rescuing Sister and narrowly escaping the Time Devourer's devoured Guilst, Shiki and his friends set out to find Hermit and Valkyrie. Fortunately, they soon find Hermit while passing through outer space. However, Hermit has completely closed his heart and is in an abnormal sleep state. Shiki and his friends decide to head to the virtual world of Digitalis to rescue him. They must fight Jamiloff, who has been controlling the virtual world with cheats, to protect the virtual world, and to open Hermit's closed heart and welcome him into their circle.
Xiaomei's Trial
With Hermit as their companion, Shiki and his friends head to the planet of time, Mildian, to find the last of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, Valkyrie. There, they encounter the legendary fortune teller, Xiaomei, who is said to be able to predict anything with her divination. However, in order to receive a reading using her time-reading abilities, they must overcome several trials, and Shiki and his friends decide to take Xiaomei's trial. Shiki and his friends end up participating in Xiaomei's hobby of trials by competing in a battle at the Battle Coliseum.
Information about the Jewel Planet Sun Jewel and Mother
After completing Xiaomei's trial, Shiki and his friends successfully obtained information through the Time Chanting that Valkyrie was in Sun Jewel. Knowing their destination, the group was excited to depart, but Xiaomei stopped them and began to share information about their final destination, Mother. Until now, Mother had been a fairytale-like figure, but she actually exists. And Xiaomei's Time Chanting powers were bestowed upon her by Mother. And finally, Mother is a great magician, and there is no wish she cannot grant. After hearing Xiaomei's story, the group expresses their wishes and heads to Sun Jewel with even greater morale.
The Red Lady, Valkyrie, and Homura
Shiki and his friends arrive at Sun Jewel. The glittering planet, complete with a casino, is ruled by a dictatorship led by a woman named the Red Lady. Anyone who causes trouble is transported to the underground labor district, where they are forced to mine ore until they die. After fighting a robber, Shiki and Homura are also transported to the labor district. There, Homura is reunited with the corpse of Valkyrie, who has become the labor district's hero. After learning about Valkyrie's past and that the Red Lady is her mother, Pyra breaks off her relationship with the Red Lady after the battle. Pyra had been aboard Edens Zero in search of Valkyrie, but from that day on, she joins the Edens Zero team as Valkyrie.
Operation to Infiltrate the Giant Battleship Belialgore
With the battle against the Red Lady over, Shiki and his friends are soon targeted by the dark alchemist Draken Joe. As he relentlessly pursues them, Shiki proposes a counterattack. Shiki and his friends board the giant battleship where Draken is located. However, Draken has anticipated this and intercepts them. He then sends assassins into Edens Zero, which is now lightly guarded, and plots to target both Shiki and Edens Zero. In the end, Draken captures all the members, neutralizes the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, and succeeds in taking over Edens Zero. In the end, he kills Shiki, and the story in that world comes to an end.
Another World
After witnessing Shiki's death, Rebecca completely loses her will to fight and lives in captivity, living in fear. However, while taking a shower, she remembers everyone and wishes to see them again. The Ether Gear on her foot glows, and she falls, as if pulled by gravity. When Rebecca wakes up again, she finds herself in a world before she met Drakken. Realizing that she may have time-leaped, she uses her memories from the previous timeline to devise a solution and uses her ability to predict the future to challenge Drakken for a second time.
Edens Zero Plot Summary
So far, I've given you a very rough summary of the plot. What do you think? The first season of the anime probably covers up to the battle with Drakken Joe, which I introduced this time. Even in the original work, Mother is still shrouded in mystery. And the long battle with Drakken Joe continues. There may even be some original developments in the anime that weren't in the original work, so it's a work I'm looking forward to.
