"EDENS ZERO" began serialization in 2018 and has now reached over 130 chapters as of March 2021. It begins with Shiki setting off alone into space, and since then, many allies and powerful enemies have appeared. Here, we'll take a quick look at the many main characters who have appeared up to chapter 130.
Shiki Granbell
The protagonist of this work is a boy who uses gravity Ether Gear. He was raised by the Demon King Ziggy on a planet inhabited only by robots, and until he met Rebecca, his only friends and acquaintances were robots. After meeting Rebecca, she embarks on a journey into space. However, due to her lack of human contact, she has a gullible and innocent personality, easily trusting people. Furthermore, perhaps because she had no human friends, she immediately tries to befriend any human she sees.
Rebecca Blue Garden
The main heroine of this work, she works as a video streamer and a "B. Cubar" rather than a YouTuber. While she generally speaks standard Japanese, she occasionally slips into a Tosa dialect, such as "~zeyo!", during combat. Partway through the story, she awakens the special ability known as "Cat Reaper," which allows her to rewind time. This makes him a target for the enemy.
Happy
Happy appeared as Natsu's partner in the previous film, but in this one he appears as Rebecca's partner. His voice actress, Rie Kugimiya, is also voiced by him, so the image is exactly the same. The biggest difference from the previous film is that Happy is already dead, and he is now a robot with the ability to transform. During battle, he transforms into a gun and fights Rebecca.
Wise Steiner
In the original world, Wise appears as an old man and is the one who transformed Happy into a robot. Shiki and his friends become allies with Wise, who was in a timeline 50 years prior due to the influence of the "Time Devourer," making him about the same age as them. Before joining the group, he was a thief. He has extensive knowledge of machines, and his Ether Gear allows him to freely modify them. He specializes in repairing spaceships and robots.
EM = Pino
An android girl who was sent back 50 years in time in Norma due to the effects of the "Time Devourer." She was used by Sybil and others and suffered terrible treatment, including losing one of her legs. However, after being rescued by Shiki and others, Wise repaired her leg, and she has become a brighter person, unlike her fearful past. Pino was created by Ziggy, and she also possesses special abilities, such as the ability to forcefully shut down Ether Gear.
Homura Kougetsu
A girl with a distinctive catchphrase, "-yue." She hails from a planet called Oedo, a name that clearly evokes the Edo period, and always wears traditional Japanese clothing. Despite her traditional clothing, she sometimes finds herself in shameless outfits, like the revealing "Japanese Bunny Girl" outfit... Her straightforward personality means she can't hide anything and speaks her mind. Abandoned by her mother, Kurenai, Homura was picked up by Valkyrie, one of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King. During her time there, she learned swordsmanship. One day, she traveled the universe searching for the missing Valkyrie.
Witch Regret
One of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, she is nicknamed the "Witch of Steel." She is a key figure in the defense, constantly protecting the spaceship Edens Zero aboard Shiki and his companions. For this reason, she is unable to leave the ship, and when Shiki first boarded it, she remained asleep aboard for 10 years. Her face is usually obscured by her helmet, but when she removes it, you can see her cool, sharp eyes.
Sister Ivry
One of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, she is a healer known as the "Life of Eden." ...However, contrary to her abilities, she is a violent woman with a distinctive delinquent-like manner of speech and behavior. Her partner is Mosco, a robot with a sumo wrestler-like appearance, and they often spend time together, often engaging in fierce ripostes. While she wears a nun's habit, she doesn't reveal much skin, appearing in underwear on the cover illustration and with a large, open chest in her nurse's uniform, she seems comfortable with being exposed.
Hermit Mio
One of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, this girl is nicknamed "The Heart of Eden." While the other Four Radiant Stars are mature women, Hermit is the only one with a childlike appearance. She excels at operating machines and even hacking. She was initially discovered in a state of despair, but after joining Shiki's party, she regained her emotions and became more like a young girl her age.
Valkyrie Yuna
One of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King, Yuna is nicknamed the "Sword of Eden." She was a parental figure who raised Pyra, and set out on a journey to find Kurenai, Pyra's mother. However, she was later discovered by Pyra and her friends in a non-functional state in the Sun Jewel. Valkyrie, who lost her life protecting humans from forced labor, was a heroic figure. Pyra left Valkyrie's body in the Sun Jewel, inheriting Valkyrie's spirit and taking on the name of one of the Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King.
Mosco Velser Zero
A sumo wrestler-like robot who serves as Sister's companion. He's supposed to care for the ship, but he also participates in combat. He has a mysterious button attached to his belly button, and whenever he has an opportunity, he tries to press it, but Sister scolds him and stops him every time. It will be interesting to see what happens when he presses that button in the anime.
Ziggy
The android who raised Shiki is known as the "Demon King." The Four Radiant Stars of the Demon King originally served Ziggy. He picked up Shiki and raised him. Although he's known as the Demon King, he aims to create a world where humans and robots can live in harmony, and Shiki trusts him. It was thought that Ziggy had ceased operations after sending Shiki away, but when he resumed operation, his personality changed completely. He became Shiki and his friends' greatest enemy.
Elsie Crimson
One of the Six Demon Generals of the Galaxy. She is also acquainted with Ziggy, and it was Elsie who was in charge of Edens Zero. Fans of the previous Fairy Tail series will immediately notice that she is identical to Erza in both name and appearance. Her strength is so great that it even puts other forces on high alert. As a child, she was already on equal terms with Valkyrie, and in the bathroom, she caught Pyra's sword with her toe and threw it away. The difference in strength was so great that Pyra then admitted defeat and knelt down.
Draken Joe
One of the Six Galaxy Demon Generals, he is also known as the "Dark Alchemist." He controls the world from behind the scenes with the power of money. He believes money is everything, to the point that he decides whether to let a person live or die based on whether they will become profitable or not. Although he appears young because he has extended his lifespan with alchemy, he is actually an old man. As his lifespan nears its end, he sets his sights on Rebecca's abilities. Although she overwhelms and defeats Shiki and his companions once, time rewinds due to Rebecca's Cat Reaper, and she is defeated in the second battle. She is then transformed into a wrinkled old man.
Xiaomei
AKA the "Time Singer," who knows everything about the galaxy, Xiaomei also serves as a narrator, appearing at key points in the story. She possesses the special power to see into the future. In the original work, she appears as a narrator with each new chapter, recapping the story so far. She sometimes gives advice to Shiki and his companions, but she also presents them with challenges that are commensurate with the advice.
Jin / Chris Rutherford
A young man who continues to fight to cure his sister's unique illness. He prioritizes his sister Kleene above all else, and is willing to do anything to potentially cure her illness. He initially accompanies the fake sister, then Drakken, and later Kleene as a guest to treat them, but when Eden's Zero is in danger, he fights the enemy and protects the ship.
Kleene
Jin's younger sister, a girl who has been robbed of her emotions. While under Drakken's care, she used the code name "Sylph." While emotionless, she seems to harbor fear for Drakken, and sometimes displays a frightened expression. After Drakken's defeat, she travels to Edens Zero to be treated by the Sisters. Despite her expressionless face, she lives a seemingly happy life.
Rabiria Christie
The popular B-Cuber treats Rebecca as inferior. She constantly picks fights with Rebecca, making fun of her and using her as material in her videos. She even gets caught up in a fight with Drakken and gets captured. Despite her haughty personality, she's also a lovable character.
Summary of Main Characters
So far, we've introduced the main characters of Eden's Zero. What did you think? More characters will appear in the future, but for now, the battle with Draken will be a major turning point. It's still unclear how much of the story will be animated, but we're looking forward to seeing each character's performance.
