In Dragon Ball, Vegeta and Bulma are a married couple. After they got married and had children, he exuded the aura of a doting father. Before that, Vegeta had a very scary air about him, keeping people away. So, let's take a look at Vegeta.

Vegeta's Early Life

Vegeta is a Saiyan, a warrior race. He was born on a planet called Planet Vegeta. In modern terms, that would make him a rich kid. It was apparently a planet 10 times the size of Earth. And he was born as the child of a king. Incidentally, the king was Vegeta's father. Vegeta's father was also actually killed by Frieza. Vegeta was originally a subordinate of that powerful enemy, Frieza. However, his own home was destroyed by Frieza. It was at that time that he learned of the Dragon Balls on Earth, which are said to grant any wish. Wanting to reclaim his homeland, he heads to Earth to fight Goku and the Namekian Piccolo. It was there that he was completely defeated by Frieza, and experienced the feeling of regret for the first time.

Vegeta's Quirk

What kind of person is Vegeta? First of all, he has a high sense of pride. This may be due to his upbringing as a rich kid. And he's not satisfied unless he's the best at everything. This makes him competitive, in a good way. In a bad way, it makes him stubborn. Before marrying Bulma, he seemed strong-willed and fearless. I imagine that his environment and way of thinking gradually changed once he was with Bulma.

The Origin of His Name

The name Vegeta is apparently derived from the English pronunciation of "vegetable" (vegeta-buru). It is also said to have the meaning of being the leader of the Saiyans. Goku is also named after Kakarot and Vegeta. Kakarot comes from the carrot, or carrot. If you think about it that way, it's possible that the Dragon Ball characters were named after vegetables.

Love for Family

At first, Vegeta was cold toward Bulma and his son, Trunks. But then Dr. Gero, also known as Android 20, attacked Bulma and his son, Trunks. Vegeta didn't even look at them. That's certainly cruel. Afterwards, a grown-up Trunks from the future appears in front of Vegeta and begins to despise him. It's only natural that he would despise someone who treated him so coldly. However, this incident serves as a catalyst, and Vegeta begins to change little by little. The next time Trunks is nearly killed by Cell, I think he would have ignored it up until now. But now, like a different person, he bares his emotions and saves Trunks. I was honestly surprised at how much he'd changed.

I looked a little deeper into Vegeta. I was surprised to learn that he was the son of a king. The reason he came to Earth and fought Goku and the others was because his homeworld had been destroyed. If that hadn't happened, he might not have had the desire or expectations to come to Earth. If that had happened, he probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet Bulma. So it seems like fate that Vegeta and Bulma ended up together. What kind of life would Vegeta have led if he hadn't met Bulma? It's a strange feeling, and it seems like he wouldn't be the Vegeta we know today. So I think the existence of Bulma and Trunks is very important and precious to Vegeta.
