While many Holy Knights become arrogant due to their obsession with skills, there are also honest and upright Holy Knights who put the people first, such as the heroine Roxy Heart and the battle-hardened Holy Knight Aaron Barbatos, who later becomes Fate's stepfather. However, there are factions among the Holy Knights, and these upstanding Holy Knights seem to be hated.

Our protagonist, Fate, was banished from his village after his father's death due to a useless skill. Located in the southern part of the continent, Gallia is now a barren land den of monsters, but it once housed a highly developed civilization that has since been destroyed. While the civilization itself is gone, relics remain scattered throughout the area, including ancient weapons such as the Mecha Angel. Research on these relics is conducted in the military district of the royal capital, where a research facility for an advanced civilization, unusual for a fantasy world, is located. One of the characters, Myne, possesses the "Wrath" Sin skill, and it's implied that she existed before Gallia's destruction.
