The story takes place in 2063, when 10 high school students go to the planet Makupa for space training. The training was meant to be spent alone for 5 days there, but as soon as they arrived, they encountered a mysterious sphere. The 10 were then thrown into space. They happen to come across a spaceship nearby, which they name Astra, and so their adventure to return home begins.

Thrown out into space, they try their best to return to their hometown. In the process, they gradually form bonds. As the story progresses, they learn about their circumstances and pasts, and meet new people, and arrive at the truth behind this space adventure. This setting is amazing. I found myself rereading the entire volume. And it just gave me goosebumps. I definitely recommend watching the anime or reading the original manga.

This is directly connected to the story, but above all, everyone has a well-defined character. The character settings are wonderful, and when you find out the truth at the end, you'll think, "I see!" It's true that while reading, there were times when I thought, "Huh?" in the flashbacks to their upbringing, but the end made everything make sense. There are 10 people who are on a space adventure together. It's a work that is well-crafted down to the past of each of them, and it's content that will arouse even setting geeks.

The romance element is merely a secondary element, but there is also a story, so it's just the right balance.

When I first saw this work, I didn't expect it to end like this. I read it in a grand manner. I thought the way the story progressed was themes like friendship, challenges, and so on, typical of shounen manga. But as advice for those who are just starting to watch it, I want you to look carefully at every corner and think about various things as you read the story. There are foreshadowings here and there, and they are all resolved at the end all at once. Indeed, when I reread it after knowing the ending of the story, there were some strange things here and there. It's an interesting work to watch while noticing that and predicting the ending!

I started watching this work after it was decided to be made into an anime. Apparently it was serialized in Shonen Jump+, and it seems to have been a work that was already attracting attention from that time. It certainly makes sense after reading this work. At the beginning of the story, I was a little skeptical about the gag-like content, but after reading to the end, I can understand why it was highly praised by the public. This manga is amazing! Grand Prize-winning works are really amazing.
