This is the saga of miracles brought about by girls. A 100% original anime created by the coincidence of MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames! The curtain now rises on a thrilling "new-concept zombie anime" that transcends age, gender, and era.

Saki, Ai, Junko, Yugiri, and Lily regain their senses through music. Producer Tatsumi Kotaro orders Ai to become a local idol and save Saga, but Ai refuses, saying she's not from Saga and that it's ridiculous for zombies to be idols. However, Tatsumi says that if the zombies go outside, they'll just get killed like in a splatter movie. It's a truly brutal scene for the zombies.
9th Place: Deciding on a Unit Name

First, the seven members decide on a unit name. After much heated discussion, Lily came up with the name Franchouchou after Tae sneezed, and they decided on it. In order to make it in time for the next day's live performance, the members train all night, even though they're zombies and don't need to sleep. Who would have thought that a unit name would come from a sneeze... Did Yamada Tae sneeze on purpose?!
8th Place: The Legendary Idol Name Is Not Just for Show

The day of the concert. Sakura and the others were getting ready at Karatsu Station, but Ai and Junko remained in the car. The five of them start to perform and a small audience begins to gather, but then Lily falls in the same spot as they practiced. Sakura goes to help her, but ends up stopping the performance midway through, even though the song is still playing, and the audience leaves. Ai and Junko, who have been watching what's happening, can't help but join in the live performance. Thanks to Ai and Junko, Franchouchou is back on their feet. A little girl is imitating their choreography. Although the live performance itself cannot be described as a success, the members give it their all.
7th Place: The Head Display Incident

Sakura is invited by Saki and Junko to a hot spring, which Tatsumi had forbidden her to go to. The three are enjoying a relaxing time, but when the public relations manager of Kuchu Pharmaceuticals shows up, Sakura is so surprised that she exposes her severed head. The other Franchouchou members attack the terrified manager, instilling trauma into him. It's a comical, zombie-like gag scene.
6th Place: First Live

Minamoto Sakura was the only one who performed at the concert who still had a sense of self, so naturally, it didn't go over well. When the audience was getting too excited, Yamada Tae dove into the audience to snap. Mistaking this for a performance, the audience began to get excited by the Death Girls' outrageous antics. Saki began shouting into the loudspeaker, while the other members began the zombie-style headbanging. Excited by the sense of unity with the audience, Sakura also did a shout-dive, bringing the concert to a great close.
5th Place: Hot-Blooded Slap

In order to make it in time for the next day's live performance, the members stay up all night practicing their dance moves in the park, knowing that they don't need to sleep because they're zombies. However, with no experience as an idol, naturally things don't go smoothly. At that moment, when Sakura says something nice like, ``Even though she's a zombie, she can do it if she tries hard,'' Yugiri slaps her, and then says the exact same thing as Sakura. As with the slap, you can really feel sorry for Sakura.
4th Place: Rap Battle

The group changed their name from "Death Girls" to "Green Face" and took to the stage. However, Tae, who has not yet come to her senses, spots her favorite dried squid in the audience and goes to bite it. Sakura tries to stop her, but pulls too hard and her arm comes loose, and her head also comes off and flies into the audience. Sakura tries to cover it up by saying it's magic, but she finally loses interest in Saki's mischief. Saki retaliates, and the situation develops into a freestyle battle. The venue is a huge success. Saki is so moved that she aims to become an idol and become national champion. I think this scene really highlights the high level of acting ability of the voice actors.
3rd Place: The Promised Escape Scene

That night, Ai and Junko escape from the mansion. Sakura, having actually been shot by a police officer, tries to stop the two, but Ai forces her way up the wire fence. Sakura tries to stop them by hugging Ai, but her arms slip away and they both fall to the ground. Once outside, the three are hit on by three hip-hop-loving men who perform hip-hop hit-ups. A police officer tries to stop them, but a rap battle breaks out. When the police officer's light hits the three men's faces, the faces of zombies appear. Terrified, the police officer fires at the three. Escaping = being shot by a police officer is a staple scene in Zombieland.
2nd Place: Miyano's Performance

A man wearing sunglasses happens to pass by. He introduces himself as Tatsumi Kotaro and takes Sakura under his wing, urging her to become an idol. Sakura is confused by the sudden request, but Kotaro tells her that she should become local idols with the other zombies and save Saga Prefecture... Miyano's deliberateness in this scene matches well with the intonation of a comedy anime.
No. 1: The Shocking Appearance Scene Right After the Opening
Source: Zombie Land Saga © Zombie Land Saga Production Committee
Minamoto Sakura is a girl aspiring to become an idol. While rushing out of the house with an envelope to apply for an idol audition, she is hit by a truck. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a dark, abandoned building. While she's dazed and confused, not knowing where she is, a zombie attacks her. She somehow manages to escape the mansion and calls for help from a police officer, who faints upon seeing her. Then, Sakura is shocked to see herself reflected in a convex mirror. She's been transformed into a zombie, too. The police officer fires at her. This is a surprising turn of events, occurring immediately after the opening credits.
Summary
This is a silly anime. I mean that as a compliment, of course. I love anime that goes this far. The characters' expressions are so expressive and adorable. Will she succeed as an idol? I'll be keeping my eyes peeled.
