Kuwabara and Kazuma Kuwabara are familiar with each other, having accompanied each other in defeating Suzaku and fighting as a team in the Dark Tournament. However, while Hiei does acknowledge Kuwabara as a friend, he is indifferent to him and considers him an insignificant presence. He also seems to look down on Kuwabara, as he feels that he has a bad image because, like Kuwabara, he also uses his demonic powers to transform into swords to attack, which is what Hiei does. Fox Demon Kurama was originally a thief from the Demon World. He usually appears human, with long red hair, an androgynous face, and a rational personality. Fox Demon Kurama worked alongside Hiei before joining Urameshi. They then devised strategies such as defeating a monster called the Eight Hands and stealing treasures from the spirit world in order to fulfill their respective wishes. Afterwards, both Hiei and Kurama were targeted by the Demon World, and they began participating in the Dark Tournament together. Of the group, Hiei is the one he trusts the most, and recognizes Kurama's abilities. Yukina is a yokai called the Ice Woman, and Hiei's younger sister. Yukina herself is unaware that Hiei is her brother. When the Ice Woman sheds tears, they turn into a valuable gemstone called Hiruiseki. Because of this, he was targeted by humans and captured, but Urameshi and Kuwabara rescued him. He was then safely reunited with Hiei.

Mukuro is one of the Three Great Demons of the Demon World. The other three great demons of the demon world are Yomi and Raizen.
