Yu-Gi-Oh! is a card game-themed manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. The story follows the protagonist, Muto Yugi, as he is possessed by the spirit of a pharaoh after solving an ancient Egyptian puzzle known as the Millennium Puzzle, and as a resident of darkness, defeats evil through games. He is characterized by his shaved head and a tattoo on one side of his face, and has sworn absolute loyalty to Malik. His deck is a trap deck, and he fights by using a large number of trap cards to prevent his opponents from attacking. In the story, he also plays against Jonouchi Katsuya, but is defeated after losing consciousness after using a counterfeit God card.

However, a certain incident led to the death of his family due to the Pharaoh, and he believes that he too has been burdened with a painful fate, so he has sworn revenge. As the possessor of a god card, he specializes in combo decks using Osiris the Sky Dragon. He also excels at aggressive play that does not fear his opponent's attacks.

Ishizu is a gentle woman with tanned skin and long black hair. She cares for her younger brother and is both wise and kind. She is also the owner of the Millennium Turk, which allows her to see a little into the future. Ishizu mainly uses a card called "Reversal of the Real World and the Underworld" to perform a powerful deck destruction combo that swaps the opponent's Graveyard and Deck. He mainly uses Warrior-type monsters and a gambling deck that relies on luck, including Time Magician, Angel Dice, and Devil Dice. He uses many destructive cards known as Toon Cards and fights with tricky tactics. In the story, he is defeated by the teamwork of Yugi Muto and Yami Yugi at Duel Kingdom.

He has long white hair and a cruel and cunning personality. His occult deck uses many ghost-type cards that show their true value when they go to the graveyard. He also likes to win in unusual ways, using special victory techniques such as a Ouija board and deck destruction. He is ultimately defeated by Yami Yugi and Muto Yugi, but is also powerful as he is the final boss of the series.

Ranking 4th in the ranking of the Strongest Duelists in the Original Yu-Gi-Oh! Series is Seto Kaiba. He is characterized by his brown, mashed-up hairstyle and his arrogant personality. He is always self-centered and has an egocentric side. He is the president of Kaiba Corporation and is in charge of the Solid Vision System in Duel Monsters. He specializes in power decks using Dragon-type monsters, centered around Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and aims to win by weakening the opponent with overwhelming attack power and virus cards. He has an extraordinary rivalry with Dark Yugi, but has lost many matches against him.

Duelist Ranking: Ranked #3 in the Strongest Duelists of the Original Yu-Gi-Oh! is Dark Marik. Dark Marik is the alter-ego of Malik Ishtar. A personality born from Malik's hatred, he is cruel, cunning, and also possesses a psychopathic side. He enjoys torture and life-threatening battles, and derives pleasure from the thrill of pain. He is also able to freely control his opponents with the Millennium Rod. By playing the Game of Darkness, he is able to inflict the same pain on his opponents as monsters. He uses a Burn Deck that specializes in torture, slowly tormenting his opponents. In the story, he is defeated by Yami Yugi in a Dark Duel where he puts his own life on the line, and disappears.

His real name is Atem, and he has a strong sense of justice and cares for his friends. He also has a strong competitive spirit, good luck, and a strong draw. This allows him to draw the cards he should draw at the exact moment he is in adversity throughout the story, escaping difficult situations on many occasions. While Yami Yugi mainly uses many Spellcaster-type cards such as Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, he is skilled at creating powerful combos by combining several cards. He is ranked second because he was sadly defeated by his partner Muto Yugi in the final duel ritual, but in terms of battle record, Yami Yugi has a higher win rate.
