Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, a series currently serialized on Nico Nico Seiga's Dora Dora Sharp #, will be adapted into an anime and aired in July. The story is a cute and annoying slapstick comedy about a college student, Sakurai Shinichi, who likes being alone but is somehow stalked by an annoyingly cute junior, and Uzaki Hana, an annoyingly cute junior who keeps bothering Sakurai. We'd like to introduce you to the main character, Sakurai Shinichi.
A lonely and scary senior? What kind of personality does Sakurai Shinichi have?
Shinichi Sakurai, a third-year university student, has a very mean look in his eyes and is quite intimidating to those around him. As a result, he doesn't have many opportunities to hang out with friends, although it does happen. However, he doesn't seem to mind the wind and generally prefers being alone, and doesn't mind the fact that he has almost no friends. He's also earnest and not cynical. It's not that he has few friends, but rather that he's the type of person who naturally doesn't mind not having any. When he was originally featured on Twitter, he was only referred to as "senpai," but when the series was decided to be serialized, his full name was given.
All things considered, he's a caring senior
Uzaki-chan grew fond of him because he was harmless, despite his scary appearance. He's a kind senior who always pays attention to her and is very caring. However, Uzaki-chan can be annoying, so he doesn't hold back when he interacts with her. Originally, Uzaki-chan and I were senior and junior in the swimming club in high school. He taught her how to swim back then, which led to her underestimating him as a harmless person, and that's what led to our current relationship.
Why are you bothering me? Sakurai Shinichi is Annoyed by Uzaki-chan
Senpai enjoys a carefree life alone, thanks to his intimidating and unapproachable appearance and his penchant for acting alone. But Uzaki-chan always shows up and annoys him. This includes whenever he goes out alone to the movies, eat alone, or karaoke. She also finds out where he works part-time, barges in, and somehow ends up working there. Uzaki-chan gets involved everywhere in his daily life.
Annoying but not unpleasant senpai, not cold
While Senpai finds Uzaki-chan somewhat annoying, she doesn't dislike her that much. Senpai just likes one person, and doesn't dislike being with others. Even if she gets too carried away, Senpai will punish her or even suffer a terrible experience himself, so they have a relationship where they can be themselves without hesitation. From the outside, they appear to be dating, but they're not really dating.
Shinichi Sakurai: An Indoorsy But Physically Good at Sports
Senpai is basically an indoor person, and on his days off, he usually plays games at home. Even when he goes out, he's mastered ways to kill time, like karaoke or movies alone. However, that doesn't mean he's bad at sports; he was originally a member of the swimming club. As a result, he has a muscular build and excellent physical abilities, and is strong enough to easily lift Uzaki-chan.
He's extremely clumsy, so he's terrible at detailed work.
He's a physically strong senpai, but he's not good at anything that requires dexterity. He apparently played on the baseball team for a year, but switched to the swimming team, likely because he lacked the talent for dexterity. He's also not good at ball games, but he's a muscle-brained guy with plenty of power, so he knocks out opponents with deadly shots in futsal and makes powerful power plays in bowling. He's also terrible at cooking, and whenever he makes his own food, it always ends up looking stale, so he always eats ready-made meals. Lately, Uzaki-chan has been cooking for him more often.
I'm not good at horror, and I'm completely terrible at anything I'm not good at
In addition to being fatally clumsy, I also have a terrible weakness for horror elements. I don't even watch horror movies or play horror games, so this time, even when Uzaki-chan got cocky, I couldn't even fight back.
He actually loves cats, but cats generally don't like him.
Despite his appearance, he loves cats. He loves cats so much that he's even paid Uzaki-chan a roll of her eyes when he pets a stray cat in the neighborhood, and even visited Uzaki-chan's house just so he could pet a cat. However, cats generally don't like him. Or rather, cats are intimidated by large, strong-looking men, so in reality, a man with Senpai's build would be less likely to be liked by cats. Although I love cats, I don't have the courage to go to a cat cafe alone, and I once asked Uzaki-chan to accompany me, leading her to misunderstand.
Strange Cats That Appear Frequently in the Series
The unattractive cat "Kuso Cat" appears throughout the story, on the back cover, and in various other scenes. Its derivative, unattractive mascot character, also appears in various scenes. It appears in intermissions and bonus pages, and there seem to be various derivative characters. Also, there's something strange in the upper left. An angel holding mayonnaise... who the hell is she?
Shinichi Sakurai works part-time at Cafe Asia, only to be discovered by Uzaki-chan
He usually works part-time at Cafe Asia with his university senior, Ami Sakurai, and her father, the owner. At first, it was a safe haven, away from annoying juniors, but he was easily discovered by the annoying junior. Later, the annoying junior also starts working part-time at the cafe. His customer service is excellent, and he seems to be secretly popular.
The Master and Daughter Watch the Two with Amusement
Afterwards, both the Master and the Daughter watch the relationship between the two with a smile, and sometimes find it amusing. The Daughter, in particular, sometimes goes a little overboard, going out to play with them and trying to support them, or even going out of her way to make them cosplay.
