ULTRAMAN is set 40 years after Ultraman and Officer Hayata merged to fight monsters and protect the peace of Earth. While their fighting style is quite different from the Ultraman of the time, many nostalgic monsters also appear as aliens. Today, we'll introduce some of these aliens!
Nostalgic Monster: Ed
Ed
Ed is a member of the Science Special Search Party and has ties to the Cluster Council. He plays a role similar to that of Chief of Staff. In fact, he's a surviving member of the Zetton species. There's still much mystery surrounding this character, and it's unclear whether he's truly on humanity's side. Working alongside him, Ide is gradually learning to decipher his facial expressions.
Zetton
It's no exaggeration to say that Zetton is the strongest enemy in the Ultraman series. Officer Hayata had merged with Ultraman. It was Zetton who killed him. Children at the time apparently screamed in horror: "Who could possibly defeat Ultraman?" Zoffy then split Ultraman and Officer Hayata back into their original selves. Incidentally, Zetton was ultimately defeated by the Science Special Search Party.
Nostalgic Monster Pigmon
Prince of Planet Igaru
Pigmon is the prince of Planet Igaru. The Igaru people were politically destroyed due to their gentle nature. Pigmon, however, was saved and emigrated to Earth. He became a fan of the idol Rei Sayama. However, he was involved in an incident in which people who wrote negative comments about Sayama Rei's blog were killed one after another, and was eventually killed by Adado.
Pigmon
Pigmon, who appeared in Ultraman, is also known as the "Friendly Rare Animal." He possessed the intelligence of a second-grader and built good relationships with humans, but was killed by a monster while protecting Ide. He was the first monster to appear in Ultraman to build a friendly relationship with humans. However, he had a scary face and was reminiscent of a balloon.
Nostalgic Monster Bemular
The Original Enemy
In this film, Bemular is the original enemy. His attack on Shinjiro Hayata sets the story in motion. When he first appeared, he was treated like a villain, but his true identity is revealed to be the Ultraman who merged with Hayata and fought him. It's still unknown why he looks like that, or what his purpose is.
Bemular
In fact, Bemular is the monster that triggers the battle between Shin Hayata and Ultraman after they merge. Bemular was considered a demonic monster that threatened the peace of the universe. Ultraman was escorting him to the Space Graveyard. However, Bemular escaped and flew to Earth. While pursuing Bemular, Ultraman unfortunately came into contact with Shin Hayata. As a result, Shin Hayata died, but was revived by merging with Ultraman. From then on, as Ultraman, he continued to fight space monsters for the peace of Earth until he was defeated by Zetton and separated into Zoffy.
Nostalgic Monster Red
Red
His real name is Richalenor Dasmohira Vashizriche. He is an alien who traveled with Jack. He is commonly known as Red. (Due to his resemblance to Red King) His origins are still unknown, but he has helped Shinjiro many times, and when Shinjiro hesitated to become Ultraman, Red helped him gain the ability to fly. Contrary to his evil alien appearance, when he uses his camouflage device, Red appears as a cute 5-year-old boy. For now, Red is one of Earth's most trusted allies.
Red King
The skull monster, Red King, is not red, but he is a monster of great strength and a voracious appetite. His rugged appearance earned him the nickname Skull Monster. The reason he isn't red is because the production team followed the traditional red coloring scheme, resulting in a color mismatch. Red King is a popular monster who has appeared several times in the Ultraman series. He's also famous for killing Pigmon.
Nostalgic Monster Adado
Adado
Adado is a member of the Cluster Council. However, he has doubts about the Cluster Council and betrays it by using the Dark Star. Adado is a Skruda alien, but because Skruda aliens are significantly inferior physically to other species, their fighting power has been enhanced through genetic manipulation. It was this fighting power that led to him being scouted by the Cluster Council. The name Adado is likely a backwards romanization of the name Dada, the name of the character he was based on.
Dada
The Three-Faced Monster Dada. This monster has three different faces and can use them interchangeably. He possesses a wide variety of psychic powers, but is extremely weak in hand-to-hand combat. He is easily defeated by Ultraman and even Earthlings. Another popular monster, Dada, has appeared many times throughout the Ultra series, though his appearance has changed. His extremely creepy face and geometrically shaped body are particularly memorable.
Summary of Nostalgic Monsters
Future appearances of famous monsters from the Ultraman series are sure to be coming. Personally, I'd love to see King Joe, even though it may be a bit of a classic! To me, he has the image of an incredibly powerful monster!
