The fourth season of the anime series, My Hero Academia, is set to air in the fall of 2019! It's been a hugely popular shonen manga since its inception, but it's not all about the fighting. The cultural festival at U.A. High School, where the main characters attend, is incredibly entertaining. Beware of spoilers! We'll guide you through the fun festival.

Synopsis up to the [My Hero Academia Cultural Festival]

Battle with the Shie Hassaikai

Overhaul, the young leader of the Shie Hassaikai

The story leading up to the cultural festival was a dark and turbulent one, and readers must have grown weary of it. (lol) This is Kai Chisaki, also known as "Overhaul," the underboss of the Shie Hassaikai. They're a group of stalwarts, often described as potential villains. I think they're definitely villains, though.

Cruel Plan

Chisaka explaining his plan

In order to revive the yakuza, Overhaul used the Quirk of Eri, the boss's granddaughter (who is currently in a vegetative state), to develop a Quirk-neutralizing bullet. He uses his own Quirk to break down the Eri, then ingests the cells, immediately repairing (treating) them and returning them to their original state. Of course, Eri wasn't without pain, and she was being used in a terrifying and cruel plan. It's really scary, isn't it?

Hero vs. Shie Hassaikai

Enemy Character Appears

The heroes finally engage in battle with the Shie Hassaikai, who are plotting something nefarious. They look incredibly strong, don't they? They were incredibly strong. The heroes were almost on the brink of death, but they managed to win with a desperate determination! Because it was such a big event and the content was quite dark, the school festival we're introducing this time is sure to be enjoyable! (lol) So, let's get straight into the fun school festival!

【My Hero Academia Cultural Festival】What's it all about?

The main focus is on other classes

Aizawa giving a report on the cultural festival

No matter how many times I see this, I still can't get used to this expression (lol). The sports festival was held a while ago, and it seems like the hero class is the main focus at the sports festival, while the other classes are the main focus at the cultural festival. It's true that the hero class is getting all the attention, which is stressing out the other classes, so they're prepared to take the risk. That's because various incidents have made U.A. High School an easy target for villains (and a hot topic). It's pretty chilling.

What's the performance?

Breakdancing Ashido

Mineta Minoru's lines are incredibly easy to understand (lol). Everyone (the interns are absent due to extra classes and Bakugo is asleep) discusses the matter, but they can't decide on a performance for the school festival. The classic maid cafe idea was rejected. That's when Kyoka Jiro's music caught everyone's attention!

Reluctant

Jiro Reluctant to Talk About Music

Kaminari Denki brings up the topic of music, and the conversation turns to forming a band, but Jiro reluctantly sits down. This Jiro is super cute. The author, Kohei Horikoshi, is known as a genius at drawing cute female characters. The answer to why he doesn't choose his favorite music is a very cute one.

Persuasion

Fidgeting Jiro

Jiro's father is a rock musician, and Jiro, like that upbringing, loves music. However, due to a lack of confidence, he refuses to perform in front of others. He tells them that music isn't useful for him as a hero, and that it's just a hobby. However, after being persuaded by everyone, he agrees, saying, "It's not rock music, is it?" Such a typical Jiro response. I've said it many times before, but even fidgeting Jiro is adorable!

[My Hero Academia Cultural Festival] Other Events

Divided into Three Parts

Band Members

The first is a band centered around Jiro. Yaoyorozu Momo plays keyboards, utilizing her piano training, while Kaminari and Tokoyami Fumikage play guitar. Surprisingly, Katsuki Bakugou is a talented player, capable of doing anything with ease! His ability to handle anything with ease is one of the reasons he was voted No. 1 in popularity polls! The password is "Kill with Sound" (lol)

DANCE!

Dance Members

The second is the dance team led by Ashido Mina. It looks like a lot of fun! However, after a while, the main character, Midoriya Izuku, gets fired. I thought he was the least suited for this kind of job, so I was surprised to see him as a dance member at first (lol). After he gets fired, he joins the next team! We won't abandon him! (lol)

Direction

Direction Team

And the third is the backstage production team. They also look like they have a lot of fun. Izuku will be joining them. That concludes the event for U.A. High School's Hero Department 1-A! I felt that the assignments were well-organized to reflect each student's unique personality and character. Next, let's take a look at some more fun practice scenes!

【My Hero Academia Cultural Festival】New Arrivals!

Eri

Eri Comes to U.A. High School

Eri, who carries deep and indelible wounds, has been invited to the school festival. The festival will be held under a high level of security, so outsiders are not allowed to attend, but I asked Principal Nezu and received permission! Deku's goal at this festival is to make Eri smile. Will he be able to make Eri smile, who has forgotten how to laugh (and doesn't know how)?! What a beautiful girl!

Strict Conditions

Principal Nezu Bows His Head

The police initially recommended canceling the cultural festival. However, Principal Nezu bowed his head for the sake of the students, who were feeling down due to the Shie Hassaikai incident, saying, "We cannot point to an even darker future." The conditions were strict: the festival must be immediately canceled if an alarm sounds, even if it turns out to be a false alarm. Nevertheless, Principal Nezu, who cares about his students, decided to go ahead with the festival.

Miss Contest

Previous year's winner of the Miss Contest

In fact, a beauty contest was held every year. Kendou Itsuka (1st year B) from the Hero Course, Hadou Nejire (3rd year Hero Course), and the eyelash ghost in the picture (lol) are Kenranzaki Bibimi (3rd year Support Course). She was actually last year's winner. It's hard to believe (lol). Now, let's get started on the cultural festival. Enjoy!

[My Hero Academia Cultural Festival] I Wanted to See Your Smile

Determine

 Determine Other Departments

On the day of the cultural festival, not many students are directing their recent complaints about U.A. High School towards Class 1-A. Therefore, it's very obvious, but some students are there to determine the others. How will Class 1-A perform under such pressure?!

Nice to meet you

1-A's performance starts

The band kicked off with Jiro's loud "Nice to meet you!" That's great. After all, the theme is "Kill with sound!" The venue immediately erupted in excitement, and our bodies naturally began moving! This was truly the best concert of the school festival, and it was undoubtedly the most exciting.

Teamwork

The School Festival Gets Excited with the Chorus

That's great! The "kill him" part is so Bakugo-esque, and it really boosts morale. Also, the various performances that utilize each character's unique personality are a sight to behold. Everyone from other classes who came to watch the performance was jumping around and getting excited! Incidentally, Tenya Iida, the class representative of 1-A, was constantly doing the robot dance, yelling "Woooooo!" It was a little plain, but it really stood out and was awesome (lol).

Wow!

Eri Laughs

Eri, who had never known how to laugh and had always lived in a gloomy state, believing that everything bad was her fault, finally laughed. She was so excited by the band, dance, and performances of Class 1-A! That smile is irresistible. I wanted to see Eri with sparkling eyes, arms raised high, and laughing out loud. This was probably the greatest achievement of the school festival. I was so moved.

【My Hero Academia Cultural Festival】Beauty Contest

First Time Participating

Kentou Participating in the Beauty Contest

Kentou first appeared in Class 1-B. He appeared in a commercial during his work experience as a pro hero, which apparently led to a huge increase in his fan base. As a result, he was pushed to enter the contest by those around him. His performance using his Quirk, the Big Fist, is cool. He also has a great figure, so that's likely why he's so popular.

Contenders

Nejire's Performance

Our second contestant is Nejire Hado, a third-year student in the Hero Course and one of U.A. High School's Big Three. Unfortunately, she missed out on the championship last year, so this year she's doing some research and is taking on the challenge. This time, she'll be using her character and personality to transform into a fairy! She's the perfect fit for the role. And she's incredibly popular among readers!

Last Year's Winner

Mimimi's Magnificent Appearance

Akanzaki, a third-year student in the Support Department, has gone to the extreme of being completely incomprehensible (lol). His face is so striking that it's hard to remember anything else (lol). Will he win again this year?

Results

Winner Nejire

Nejire won, as expected (lol). This smile and the tiara suit her so well! She's so cute! I'm happy with the result. I'm really looking forward to seeing what happens next year.

The final deadline is!

Eri eating candy apples

Eri's favorite food is apples. They had promised to eat even sweeter candy apples. However, there were no candy apples at the festival stall, and Deku had prepared some in advance. Such a happy smile! Little by little, Eri's heart is returning to her original, cute personality. It may take some time, but I hope that interacting with the students of U.A. will cheer her up!

[My Hero Academia Cultural Festival] Something Different

So much fun!

1-A's Performance

What did you think? U.A.'s cultural festival is definitely a little different! Introducing the My Hero Academia cultural festival! It was a fun episode, and the performance was typical of 1-A, making full use of their quirks. The characters of the other classes were also unique, so you're sure to find a favorite. Eri's smile was also adorable, which was a bit of a relief. She had been treated so cruelly, abandoned by her parents, and her young heart was completely broken. Such a cute smile must be protected forever. My Hero Academia is still going strong! Going even further, Plus Ultra!
